WICO-AM, on air home of Bill Reddish and one of the few independent media sources in the Salisbury area, has finally buckled down to Salisbury Mayor Barrie Tilghman's rants. Starting today WICO is granting Tilghman her own weekly radio show.
That's right folks, Barrie Tilghman has been granted FREE radio time to provide her own views on the public airwaves. Don't expect Tilghman to discuss anything controversial. If she does, don't expect anything but the Barrieland view.
Don't expect calls from the public. Barrie doesn't like to entertain questions from the public any more than her buddy Louise Smith does.
Can a Louise & Gary Show be next?
Tune in on Mondays at 8:30AM to hear the full, unvarnished views of the Queen of Barrieland.

Barrie's new show should be called "Fluff 'n' Stuff."
ReplyDeleteIgnore it, and maybe the bully will go away.
Maybe she can answer the questions asked at the City Council meetings on her show. If she did that at least we (and she) might really learn something.

ReplyDelete"We'll get back to you on that."

ReplyDeletePS - Don't hold your breath til then!
As though she knew any answers!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I cannot fathom why WICO would do such a thing, unless they're hoping that she will come across so clueless that the rest of the public would know for sure just how far in over her head she is in this job.
Go figure.
Why would you even promote this foolishness?
ReplyDeleteWait a minute. Doesn't she already have a TV show on weekly? Why would we need another "fluff" show of "how good we do things in this city"? Your right there won't be any call in questions allowed on this show, so why give her more air time to tell her BS story about our city and how good she does things- NOT.

Why would she answer questions asked at City Council meetings?
ReplyDeleteLouweasel does that on HER PAC14 show.
Watched that one and Barrie's once. That was enough.
Neither one of them can give a straight answer. And Barrie can't even remember what she supported or didn't support last year, according to her interview in the Times recently.
Bubba lies about blocking handicap access.
And Shanie reads magazines.
So, there are only 2 elected city officials who are straight up: Cohen and Campbell.
The rest are a disgrace.
Are the Tax payers of Salisbury going to be paying for this "air time" she is going to get?
ReplyDeleteJust in time for her re-election campaign. Is anyone surprised she pulled this off?
ReplyDeleteHere's a couple of questions from someone who left town for years and has moved back 4 days a week. Why do the voters continue to keep her in office? How much does she get paid? When is the new election? Is there anyone who actually has the qualifications to run a large "business", which is what Salisbury is, expressed an interest in doing the job?
ReplyDeleteThis latest action by Barrie is proof of her desperation--she is trying so hard to counter Cohen and Campbell; trying to explain herself--she's a desperate woman.
ReplyDeleteDon't know HOW she pulled it off, but I do have an opinion on WHY. She won't go on the Reddish show, (not that he would want her!), so this is her way to try to counteract anything Terry, Debbie, Tim Spies, and others who speak the truth say on Bill's show. But that is just my opinion, so don't sue me!
ReplyDeleteHere's a couple of questions from someone who left town for years and has moved back 4 days a week. Why do the voters continue to keep her in office?
ReplyDeleteBecause not enough people get out and vote. When 76% of the residential properties are rentals there is a small percentage with a vested interest in the city.
How much does she get paid?
$25,000 annually, it is my understanding that is to be increased to $35,000, I could be wrong.
When is the new election?
April 2009
Is there anyone who actually has the qualifications to run a large "business", which is what Salisbury is, expressed an interest in doing the job?
Bubba aka Gary Comegys has expressed an interest and he is the least qualified. There are rumors of others interested, we'll have to wait and see who actually does the paperwork.
to anon 9:08 Thanks for answering my questions. Two shocking answers (at least to me). That landlords have 3/4 of the power and that no one other than Comegys has stepped up to the election plate. This sure isn't the Beavers town of Mayfield anymore!
ReplyDelete"...landlords have 3/4 of the power..." Ummmm, I'm gonna hafta sorta go ahead and disagree with you there. The comment said 78% of the residential property was rentals. In no way does that mean the owners live in Salisbury. Remember the "taxation without representation" fight in Salisbury, some 15 or 20 years ago. You have to live in the city to vote in the city (last time I was there anyway.) If you just own property, to hell with ya, who cares. You apparently don't have a voice.
