Just how much BS are you going to take from this Mayor any more? How many times will she say, "I take full responsibility" yet nothing is done?
There is talk within the waterfront communities of a Class Action Lawsuit against the City of Salisbury. These are people who pay additional money/taxes to live and enjoy the water and their recreational activities have been eliminated. Granted, the River may not be closed for several miles but let me ask you, would you let your kids into that water, anywhere?
It's time we get some quality and qualified people to step up to the plate and run for Mayor. Enough Is Enough of this crap. If they can't get that damn Waste Water Treatment Plant run right, FIRE THE SON OF A BITCHES WHO KEEP FAILING YOU!
I have spoken with several business owners who have firmly agreed, they too would have fired people long ago, sending out the message we're not going to take this crap any longer.
Again, when Barrie starts telling everyone that the Plant is like going down the Highway at 65 MPH and changing the motor while the car is still moving, PLEASE! Are we supposed to be that stupid? If it's IMPOSSIBLE, then why the hell are you doing it?
Anyhow, it's time people stood up and fought back. Barrie Tilghman is no longer any good for the City of Salisbury, not that she ever was but she's been in Office 10 years so some of you Idiots must have thought so.
I recently spoke with a friend of mine who had to go past Mill Street to get into Town and he said the stench is unbearable. Barrie knows how to get rid of all of the good people in the City, why can't she get rid of the Idiots that are about to cost you taxpayers thousands of dollars in fines?
Thank you, well spoken.
ReplyDeleteGet rid of the idiots at the wastewater plant.
They all have proven themselves with a 83,000
gallon spill once again.
The only thing the so called mayor could do is fire the a hole and his whole crew, and maybe hire qualified professionals.
Would it really cost any more?
There is a superintendent and his assistant that i hear never come out of there office.
You can hold the so called mayor responsable for not hiring qualified people , and the under qualified superintendent for not doing his job.
Not intending to defend the Barrie administration... but more as a question.
ReplyDeleteBut this sort of thing happens all over the US, and in nearly every mid to large city. For example, quite a lot has been dumped into the Potomac River from Washington DC. Quite a lot.
Is there any evidence that Salisbury is somehow unusual in the amount of effluent and frequency of events relative to the US "average"?
I'll givr you three guesses who anonymous 8:49 is!
ReplyDeleteCan anyonr say, damage control? I told you, she thinks ALL of you are flat out stupid!
Joe. Sonja Henie is out;we'll take Danny Noonan, and bank the third guess for after dessert. (Shout out to tax-guy my bro'.)
ReplyDeleteThe Countess of Salisbury, aka berry tilghman, has the destruction of Salisbury as her primary mission.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever and who ever has led her to be so maniacal in her quest to destroy this once great city?
Those who enable her in her quest are equally compliant and deserve to be dealt with accordingly.
Throw the bastard out!
OKAY anonymous mayor (*&&*^^^%%% 8:49 All the waste solids end up at the county business on the westside that grows "bushes". It's called Blue Plains (Not somewhere in D.C.) and your a river polluting wench (if it's you) you've ruined our most precious resource you liar!!!!!!! AND I'm trying to be nice!

The mayor cant be out of here soon enough. She has done enough mass destruction to our at one time really great city. I moved here almost 30 yrs ago and Salisbury was being lead by first class representation. Whoever voted for this mayor we have now in Salisbury must have been promised alot by her and her goons.
ReplyDeleteI have lived in many different cities, large and small, and only once can I remember a spill of this type in any of them. We have had back-ups due to hurricanes shutting down the elextricity and not enough back-up generators to handle it. We simply stopped putting anything down the sewer pipes except the human fecal matter. Cutting down on use enabled the generators to handle it until power was restored. BUT--
ReplyDeleteto the best of my knowledge, that is not the problem here. It is the improperly used and under-maintained equipment, right? So no amount of "mea culpa" is going to fix anything. MAYOR, STOP PUTTING BAND-AIDS AND TOURNIQUETS ON IT AND GET IT DONE RIGHT! IF YOU HAD DONE IT RIGHT SEVERAL YEARS AGO, WE WOULDN'T KEEP "FLUSHING" MILLIONS MORE THROUGH THE WWTP!
Anon 8:49 who gives a flying f**k what goes on in DC or anywhere else? Barrie has given all of us, in the city and county, enough to worry about right here in our own backyard. If half the time was spent on doing the right thing here in OUR city as was spent on what others are doing in THEIR city something might actually get done.
ReplyDeleteJust like Barrie to try to put the focus on other places so we don't focus on this disgrace of a city she has created.

What a F#%king Joke this commentor is? Way to smooth to be a concerned citizen. Barrie, you are not that eloquent so I doubt you wrote it. Now it may be your overpaid douche bag Lore "potty" Chambers. Get a life you damn morons. Each and everyone of you are responsible for bringing this city down.
I had about 15 years exp in drinking water treatment on a commercial level and the MDE was on us big time for the slightest record keeping error, changes in chemical treatment etc... and these folks were professional but, aggressive! So how does the almighty "shots one" rate the "we'll check into it" treatment. When does that Federal Clean Water Act compliance hit fr Maryland? And if the city of Salisbury/Wicomico County does not meet these guidelines the fed cleans it up and bills us right? YES!!!!!!! This will be so ugly and cost $$$$ of taxpayer money! Thanks mare and how do you reckon your "faith in God and Country" with this abomination?

After all of these spills I can't believe only a very few people have stood up at the council meetings making their feelings on the 6 foot drain pipe known.
ReplyDeleteRemember, the drain pipe WITHOUT filtration?
I believe the spills are intentional so as to justify raising the rates again and for 5 years, hence. 75% in the last 5 years isn't enough.
ReplyDeleteJust enough in amount m(spills) to warrant attention. And isn't it convenient how the amount of any spill goes down with each passing day?
9:10, don't you mean bury tilghman?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone but me noticed a change in the taste of the tap water in the last couple of days?
ReplyDeleteIt's truly "different". Hard to explain.
Can we in the city get private wells for potable water?
Anyone?
8:32, go get a water test sample kit and send it to an independent lab. Read your results at the council meeting schedule immediately after you receive the results. THEN call the media, even if it means going to Baltimore to get it in the news.
ReplyDeleteENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
Joe; Not that I don't agree with the sentiment, but one can't be the "Son of Bitches" since no-one can have more than 1 biological mother. The plural of "Son of a Bitch" is "Sons of Bitches" (Unless they are brothers, then I guess you could use "Sons of a Bitch") If you're going to use such colorful language, you should at least do it right!
ReplyDeleteHave any of you seen the Anacostia river or even the Potomac near DC. they are the filthist rivers I have ever seen. I wont even drive my boat in those rivers in fear that I may fall in.
ReplyDeleteLet's not miss the point here. There most certainly are cities and towns that are also troubled with sewer issues, as there are cities with higher crime rates than SBY...two wrongs don't make a right. Just because we're not the worst doesn't mean it's not very bad.
ReplyDeleteUnder what circumstances would an employer maintain employees who fail to do their job? I have not seen the employment contract for the WWTP staff, but I'd bet that their main job is to keep the wastewater off the streets and out of the river. Clearly they've failed to accomplish that, and by the way, who knows how many other spills have occured that we DON'T know about...
This housewife is way in over her head. She's not a manager of anything , other than plain old BS.
ReplyDeleteTime to make a fast change and get rid of her, so where is the petition to do so? I believe this is the eigth time there has been a spill from that $80 million WWTP. And you know, we would never have known about what is happening out there had it not been for Joe's nosing around and taking pictures!

ReplyDelete"the fed cleans it up and bills us right? YES!!!!!!! This will be so ugly and cost $$$$ of taxpayer money! "
It wouldn't surprise me if that were not the plan.
You may well be onto something. ..having the feds "fix it"
While they are fixing the WWTP do you think it's possible they would swing by the GOB and fix the accounting dept? Pam Oland, just like her boss, Barrie Tilghman, is in way over her head.
