A VIEW FROM THE WEST: Wright, Wrong and NOT MONOLITHIC

A couple of notes on the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. First and foremost, Wright and Wrong is the subject of my PolitckerMD.com column this week.

If any good comes out of, it will show that black people are NOT monolithic. Looking at The Baltimore Sun this morning, even the pastors of black churches in Baltimore are not in agreement completely with Rev. Wright. One pastor feared that Wright's comments might overshadow his good works in the community in the south side of Chicago.

If there is anything that is harped on at any point in time when I write, it is this myth that blacks are monolithic. The mainstream is starting to realize that (hopefully) about political beliefs in the black community, hopefully it will now start to realize this about spiritual and moral beliefs.

  1. Pastor Wright has spoken truth to power. He is right about so many things: Tuskegee Airmen, Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Al CIA'da, Iraq War Lies, and all of the terrorism in America's past. Our Politicians have become War-Mongers . . . the sooner we admit it and do something about it, the quicker this misery will end. Americans are regular people - we, the readers and commentors of this blog. The US Politicians are doing horrendous things in our names. We must wake up! It will take a lot of Pastor Wrights to help us awaken from this slumber.
