I HAVE HAVE BOUGHT AMERICAN MADE DRESS SHIRTS MADE IN AMERICA AND THEY HAVE LOST BUTTONS AND STICHING/STARTED TO UNRAVEL IN 6 MONTHS TIME.NOTHING IS MADE TO LAST ANYMORE.
A little trick some manufacturers use is putting "Made in USA" labels on things made in Puerto Rico and other US territories. It's really not a lie but it is very deceiving. It's still cheap crap made by unskilled labor. They don't have to pay taxes either do they?
Bob......My wife just bought me some new Levi 505 jeans. I've worn 505's for more years than I can remember, but these were different. The material from which they were made was obviously thinner. The pants weigh less and air feels like it flows right through them. I looked for some type of markings that would differentiate them from regular 505's but there were none. It seems like these are just 505's of an inferior quality.......like a smaller candy bar costing more money.
Here is a good story found at msnbc.com entitled ,The resurgence of 'pocketbook patriotism'

ReplyDeleteSoryy you got burned anon 8:10.
ReplyDeleteThat raises a new question do you want foreign made junk or domestic made junk.
June 6 is my last day here at Airpax in cambridge as my job has been sent to China and Mexico.
Meanwhile I know a few horror stories of shoddy quality circuit breakers they are trying to foist on the American market made in Matamoros.
Also a machine press die sent recently to the outsourcer has already busted it. (I'm glad of it.)
We got our "stimulus" payment last week. $600 to spend.
ReplyDeleteI told my wife she could buy anything she wanted --- as long as it was not made in China!
We will have to see what she comes up with
Yep got mine to guess i will get a tank of gas and a pizza for dinner tonight. LOL
