The human remains discovered recently in a Somerset County yard have not been positively identified however it is speculated that it may be Rhonda Parks, who has been missing since 2006. I just cannot imagine the agony her loved ones must be enduring, just waiting to see if indeed she has been located.I don't know what would be worse-having someone confirm your daughter is deceased or not knowing anything at all. As long as a body is not found, you can always hang on to some hope that they are still alive. Yet at the same time, knowing what happened to them, and being able to give them a proper Christian burial would be a sad comfort. I am keeping the Parks family in my prayers and at the same time, I wanted to give a mention to some of the other people who are still missing in Somserset County, so that no one forgets they are still out there somewhere, dead or alive, and their families deserve closure so that they can heal.

I hope I did not leave anyone out-I used what sources were available and if I left someone off the list please let me know.Let's keep the loved ones left behind in our thoughts and remember if you have ANY information about either of these missing persons it is your duty as a human to report it.
Is it specifically Somerset county people who turn up missing, or was that intentional from the report?
ReplyDeleteDoes Wicomico have this many missing and unaccounted for people?
Hi Totmom:
ReplyDeleteYou missed Christine Sheddy whose Pocomoke dissapearance last November has been BIG news all over the Pocomoke Tattler:
http://www.pocomoketattler.com/?p=342
I do not believe they ever found Larry Northam who has been missing for about 4 years, I think.
ReplyDeleteIm sorry,I only included the list of missing from Somerset County-I never researched Wicomico or Worcester.Theres a great website called MarylandMissingPersons.Com that allows you to do searches by name or geographic index. I used only those with photos in an effort to help reach people, there were a few more with no photos.
ReplyDeleteFYI - I checked into the Larry Northam situation and he's technically missing from Accomack County although he was living in Somerset. Rumor is his disappearance is connected to Bill Brumley, previously convicted of murder. As for Wes Webster, his wife hears from him about once per month, but he doesn't want to be found. His VA check goes to her and he gets his SS check wherever he is staying. It's a weird case since he supposedly would leave for her for long periods of time in the past.
ReplyDeleteHave people stopped dissappearng since the Brumley guy was convicted? Seems like a high # of people from a small area like Somerset Cty.

ReplyDeleteIts too easy for law enforcement to blame it on one guy.Bromley has only been linked by evidence to one disappearance-a murder he was convicted of and incarcerated for. Most people not from here would be surprised to know we have a very nasty drug problem in Somerset and it is far more serious than kids smoking joints or guzzling beer. A newcomer to the area who has been drug free for almost 20 yrs exclaimed that there was just as much hard dope on the streets to be had in Princess Anne and Crisfield than where he moved from in Southeast DC.Some of the missing had substance abuse problems all their lives, which put them in danger. And yes you can see people in this rural county wearing"Stop Snitching" T-shirts out in public. Is it people released from ECI who decide to remain in the area?Or is just the natural degradation of a quiet community? That remains to be seen-but I think the hardcore underground drug trade has ALOT to do with it.
The blame needs to be placed where it belongs. The Sheriff of the county needs to spend less time on the bar stool and more time protecting the county he swore to protect. The stats at the Barrack in Princess Ann speak volumes of what needs to be done there. Someone needs to take a hard look at the case load of the Investigators at that barrack and then ask why ?? Again not hard to figure out. Is it true Jones pulled the deputies out of the WBI there ?? or did MSP give them the boot ?? Maybe someone will or can answer these questions. Want to get away with murder do it in P/A just not in the Town limits there are cops there. They work and have a work ethic that is strong and it shows.
ReplyDeleteBarstools? No offense but I believe you must have confused Sheriff Bobby Jones with another lawman in another jurisdiction that I will not mention out of fear of a lawsuit.
ReplyDeleteHaving dealt with Sheriff Jones and his deputies in the past,I have to speak up in their defense-they do the best they can with what resources they have.He is no Mike Lewis, but then again he does not have the same funds to work from either.Somerset is one of the poorest counties in the state.Jones is obviously doing something right,or he would not have won the last election or the one before that.
Also wanted to add that it was just reported the remains found in Manokin are those of Rhonda Parks.I am hoping that the man accused,Joseph Hayman is shown no mercy because while Md law does not recognize a fetus as a human,he in fact killed Rhonda AND her innocent unborn child.I do not care what she ever did wrong,NOBODY deserves what happened to her and I hope the state doesnt let this scumbag Hayman plead his way down to a Manslaughter rap.
ReplyDeleteGun, Badge, Strong Work Ethic, that will get the job done that is all I am saying. You cant find a deputy after mid-night. Check with the allied agencies in the county see how they feel about the effort being put forth
