  1. I understand that the residents have been sworn to secretcy. They have been told not to discuss it, which is not right!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Is this the same neighborhood Mike Dunn recently moved to?

    ReplyDelete
  3. DIDNT MIKE DUNN MOVE THERE LAST YEAR.tHINK HE WILL KEEP QUIET?HAHAHAHAHAHA.HE WILL ASSUALT SOME OLD LADY.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Dunn moved to the "Tony Tank" subdivision, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  5. The residents in the Village are basically scared to even talk about it in the outside world. Its a lot of money and I am told their legal advisor met with them and basically let them know to not "breath a word" .
Sounds like a good old boy thing going on.

    ReplyDelete
  6. It is another Tom Ruark development--big surprise , not to worry Tom you are a certified FOB

    ReplyDelete
  7. No police report; no going to bank to report fraud; DO YOU SMELL IT?? No grass cutting; go get them City, will be good for you cofers.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Ok, still waiting on the "more to come." Is the Village of Tony Tank Creek the developement that was annexed to Salisbury that you have to enter off South Division Street that leads to Fruitland? The one where Tom Screwark tried to make a road through Canal Woods, but the citizens in that community put a stop to it?

    ReplyDelete
  9. People are afraid in there right now.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Au contraire Anon 730. Mike Dunn will take that to his grave. The same as he will take the Sassafras Meadows rip off/scam to his grave.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i bet when the doodyman moved to tony tank the property values dropped like a lead weight

    ReplyDelete
  12. Joe - there is a need for more to come but people in the Village are being counseled not to talk about ANYTHING!
It's frightening that certain individuals are getting away with this.

    ReplyDelete
  13. If "They" whoever they are, are too scared to speak up, then they deserve no justice or restitution, just a bill from their attorney. The amount allegedly stolen is a felony and the FBI should interject said attorney for withholding evidence and obstruction of justice.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I heard it was one of the hoa officers and some relation to a company where this guy worked that the money was going.
People are talking. It will all come out. How can a neighborhood with lots of homes in it keep anything like this quiet. Whos is doing the threatening and why?

    ReplyDelete
  15. I have heard that their attorney (name withheld) met with ALL the homeowners to let them know that the treasurer (name withheld) of their association
deposited their money into his company that he worked for. They were also told not to discuss it with anyone outside of the association members. Most of the people that live there are retired and are afraid of the consequence.`

    ReplyDelete
  16. So who is their attorney?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Who would be in a position to tell residents what they can and cannot say? Why would residents honor this request? Are there threats involved?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Politicans and those with wealth have unfair control and power to shut mouths and are capable of underhanded actions to make these neighbors afraid. Someone could have a home accident, like falling off a ladder while changing a light bulb and breah their neck. Just kidding. Those things only happened when Bill Clinton was president and the CIA was involved. Some of the TV programs now are really nonfiction with the names and situations changed.

    ReplyDelete
  19. This is one big mess. apparently the treasurer of the association along with the owner of the firm that the money was deposited into is being protected. I also am hearing that banks are involved. It just keeps getting deeper and deeper. I feel sorry for the residents of The Village of Tony Tank Creek.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Tony Tank has always been a big money neighborhood. Before Deer Harbor and Nithsdale were ever built. Well you know the old saying
"Money talks and Bull shit walks"
    enough said.

    ReplyDelete
  21. SO WHY is there so much secrecy? Is it because these are allegations or is this a sure thing at this point? I'd hope that, once it was determined that there is no question as to the guilt of this guy, or these guys, the truth would come out.

    ReplyDelete
  22. In this mornings paper, there was a story about a woman who was the treasurer of Sundowner Park in Ocean City. She apparently stole money from the HOA and was eventually reported to the Police when they discovered there was not enough money to pay the bills in the association. WHY is the police not involved in the Village Fiasco? It sounds like certain individuals are being protected and that is a CRIME!
Certainly a police officer or law enforcement officer should be reading about this crime right here in Salisbury...unless they are also covering up things.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Annon 723. You are not too bright! Its not Tony Tank . Its Village of Tony Tank Creek - a neighborhood consisting mainly of retired people who have been stolen from. They think they will get the money back from this so called high profile businessman where the money was deposited into his account. I have heard their attorney is telling the residents to let it ride for now.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Now the residents who have paid their association dues to maintain their services cannot get their services. They don't have lawnmowers and stuff since it is mandatory to have the association take care of that stuff.Again, many are elderly.
Figure, how many homes in that neighborhood times around 1100 dollars a year for the services. The lawncare company will not perform the work if they are not gonna get paid.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If there was much to this Joe would of contacted his good buddy Mike Lewis and put him on the case.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tom Ruark isn't involved, its a resident of the Village who absconded with the funds and used them to come up with an investment in another project. This guy is the CFO of a local Architect engineering firm. The lesson here is all homeowner associations better be bonded and have in place protections to keep this from happening to them.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 8:50 Mike Lewis is Wicomico County. Village of Tony Tank Creek if City of Salisbury.

    ReplyDelete
  28. When one reads the many comments, see how these residents have been scamed, and this guy is on the loose. Is this believable, or is this NOT believable. So much of it is hiding.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Tom Ruark isn't involved, its a resident of the Village who absconded with the funds and used them to come up with an investment in another project. This guy is the CFO of a local Architect engineering firm.

Well there you go. The names of the guilty are protected while the innocent retirees get the shaft. ONLY in Salisbury. Is Tony Tank Creek in city limits or is it just beyond?

As for that attorney telling them to let it ride. He'd get a ride. Right out of town. His name should be published. Please tell us it is Paul Wilber.

    ReplyDelete
  30. No its not Paul Wilber.Yes the Village is in the City Limits.
Why is the City police not getting involved? Obviously there is some sort of protection of the CFO and the Treasurer involved. The attorney has told the residents that he may be able to recoup some of the money. HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!
He needs to be booted out and a new attorney hired! Along with calling the police! I heard the attorney told the residents also this was all costing them money for his fees!

    ReplyDelete
  31. IOTT??? The same Iott that is building that mega complex on Hobbs Road? Very interesting.

Sue the bastards and then put them in jail. Fire that lawyer while you're at it and get one worth paying.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yupp 3:44 pm. That's what I overheard--the treasurer of the HOA works for Iott.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Ok! Now the treasurer. What is his name and why is he being protected?

    ReplyDelete
  34. A friend of mine rode through the Village of Tony Tank Creek earlier today. He said it sure does not look like how it used to. Tall grass, weeds, some yards mowed, others scrub grass. All because the former treasurer STOLE their money.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It's amazing everyone wants a name but nobody blogging has the balls to leave theirs...

    P.S. I didn't ask for a name!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. IOTT is involved in this. the attorney for the Creek is MJ CALDWELL. he needs to be fired...he is not sticking up for whats right.

The treasure for the Creek lives in there too. I rode by his house tonight, and he was sitting at his computer as big as he pleased!!!! Probably counting the money that he stole haha. can you believe that?

I also heard the Treasure is affiliated with Temple BOTYAN hahaha. you guys might over there might want to check your finances!!!! lmao

    ReplyDelete
  37. It would be easy enough to figure out who is the treasurer by going to the right state agency for those registrations and getting the HOA filing. Does anyone know which office it is?

    ReplyDelete
  38. People stop your whining and do a little investigating like I did to find out who the treasurer is. Hint! It's not a government agency. All it takes is a curious mind and a lot of common sense, It took me 45 mins to find the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  39. People get your facts straight. The onwers had nothing to do with a corp tresurer being a theif, liar, and has ripped off the owners for years. I am sure the owners will do the right thing, and like other areas of influence in this county, it what fire is the hottest to jump on. GIVE IT TIME

    ReplyDelete
  40. yeah, give'm time.....to hide the evidence and cover all their tracks. Lawyers have developer investments and friends too ya know...it wouldnt be fair to let only Barrie have all the developer scams n kick-backs

    ReplyDelete
  41. Mike Waldman is the CFO of Iott Architects....could it be him?

    ReplyDelete
  42. The question I would have is why hasnt Mr. Iott returned the money?

    ReplyDelete
  43. For God Sake, this is so stupid, expose the person who did this so it doesn't happen again - damn the secrets in this town.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Amazing that someone could believe that $250k would NEVER be missed...unless it was from the city of SBY.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I believe Mike Waldman WAS the CFO of Iott....and lives in the Village. Coincidence?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Waldman it is! BINGO! Finally someone felt it was important to release the name of this guy who supposedly commited this awful crime. He is walking the streets of Salisbury and I believe still lives in the Village with the people he stole from. The lawyer is well aware of what he did and has not reported it to the police that anyone is aware of.

    ReplyDelete
  47. So is Waldman no longer at Iott's office?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Why haven't the police been contacted? This is crazy!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Waldman is part owner of the Hobbs Rd project with Keith Iott & David Harkins, boy did those two pick a winner in that partnership!!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Not to mention the lawyer Caldwell or whatever his name is. Maybe he should get into a partnership with Wilber and call it Dewey Cheatam and How.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Iott is the worst design firm I have ever worked with. I feel sorry for anyone who attempts to build their designs. the drawings might as well be in crayon.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Let it ride?I would be the first person at the thiefs door with a bat.

    ReplyDelete
  53. If you google "Michael Waldman Salisbury" you will learn:

He lives on Spring Crest Drive in the Village of Tony Tank

He is or was President of Shore Transit Authority at least in 2001

He was blogger Michael Swartz campaign manager for the Wicomico County Republican Central Committee

Republican Central Committee = Louise Smith (past), John Bartkovich and Ron Alessi. Let us not forget attorney for Village of Tony Tank and former Wicomico County Council Republican candidate MJ Caldwell.

Possibly no relation but there is or was a Waldman living 2 doors down from our illustrious mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman.

    Draw your own conclusions.

    ReplyDelete
  54. i agree we can't let it ride, all of his financial relationships business or personal need to be reviewed, and reviewed quickly! How do we know his partners aren't involved in this? Are we to seriously believe that Iott and Harkins had no knowledge of this, he was Iott's CFO for crying out loud.

    ReplyDelete
  55. This stunt Waldman has pulled has affected the lives of sooo many innocent people. What a rotten bastard. Because of this people are out of allot of money and out of work. Should be interesting when the IRS, FBI & local police are jockeying for position to put him behind bars when this breaks loose. I will say this, I hope the names of the folks that are being dragged into this with so called involvement are given the benefit of the doubt until the authorities come forth with their involvement. It’s the innocent who always get screwed in situations like this. People get associated with the incident when its breaks but as the story falls to the way side, so does the media blitz. Then those names are not media blitzed clearing their association. And those innocent are left with the black mark.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I believe this is the same "Mike Waldman" that was briefly the financial director for Go-Getters. He managed to spend like a mad-man before they caught on!! It took a few years for the new director to clean up his mess! Sounds like he has his hand in the cookie jar wherever he goes!

    ReplyDelete
  57. Joe, when are we going to hear more on this very interesting story?

    ReplyDelete
  58. This is so disgusting that a man like Waldman can get away with this. He seems to like to steal from older people, retirees, fixed incomes, etc. And the nerve to take the money from the residents of Tony Tank Crrek and give to IOTT so possibly he was a partner in their project. What a CROCK!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm waiting to hear about the attorney for the HOA, and how it gets handled legally. People do what people do, but the part that's most interesting is the lawyers and how they manage to make sure there's money to pay them. AND, where was oversight? How can an association as small as that lose track of so much money without ANYONE noticing? Okay, you might want to remind me about the dump and all the money and materials lost from there, but in the gov't there are so many different people involved....this was the Treasurer of a neighborhood HOA for God's sake.
Shame on the other officers of the HOA for not keeping a watch over the money.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I agree with your comment about where was the other officers when this was going on? I would think the President and other board members are partially responsible and from what I gather, they had a President change the end of 2007.
HOWEVER, that does not give this Waldman guy the right to steal the money out of their accounts. Along with that, what about the Bank (s) that handled the transactions? I cant believe only one person was controlling ALL the money for the association without the other board members verifying.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Mike Waldman has a right to do business for profit. If people are stupid enough to keep hiring him, then they deserve what they get or lose! Smart people chech backgrounds of people before they hire them. Oh well, he does have such an honest face and he talks such a good game. How can you resist such a person? But first, ask him how much he plans on stealing and then decide if you can afford to lose that much. Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There's no relationship to the Waldman family living down the street from the Mayor. Leave that out of this; they're good people not involved.

    ReplyDelete
  63. M. J. is in his typical "fix it" mode then he'll start calling around for help from other attorneys who can handle it; typical for him.

M.J. do the right thing, your duty is to the truth, not the thief.

Someone needs to attach the IOTT Companies' accounts until this Fraud is resolved.

The FBI has an agent based in Easton that handles white-collar crime like this.

    ReplyDelete
  64. While we sit in darkness, it gives us time to think. And, yes, the President did resign before her term was up. We are smart people in this Village. A petition to oust the entire Board????????????

    ReplyDelete
  65. Was the money actually "stolen"? Maybe not!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Maybe there is more to this than what the Village REALLY knows. President resigning, everyone in the Village is still HOPING that they will see their money again HAHAHA! The attorney says he feels sorry for IOTT Hmmmmmmm. Smells fishy to me!
Ousting the board! Definately a good consideration.
    Its called Cleaning House!

    ReplyDelete
  67. I have the answer. Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen need to be on the Board of Directors. They are HONEST, Look out for the best interest of the citizens,
Sincere, hard working, dedicated, integrity plus! Why not?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anything more about this?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Rumor (isn't this ALL rumor?) has it that this guy Waldman was "borrowing" from the bank account of the HOA in order to invest in the Hobbs Rd. project. One of his partners is red-faced, and the other one is hoping that sh*t doesn't actually run downhill.
And the lawyer is trying to stay out of everyones cross hairs.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Once again - .why is the Police not aware of this?
Or are they and also keeping it quiet? HMMMMMMM!!!
The residents still think they are going to get their money back!!! If I were them, I would not hold your breath! This weekend there will probably be lots of lawnmowers out in the neighborhood - something they are not used to doing on their own!

    ReplyDelete
  71. This needs to go back to the top so that more people can comment...I expect there is lots of info out there waiting to be told.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Both sides always want to win, if that means cheating and lying that is OK isn't it? They are attorney's after all.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Does or has the lawyer advised the partnership on Hobbs Road? Take a look--people!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Mike Dunn does not live in the Village of Tony Tank; in reality..and believe this, he
lives across the Street from Rod Flowers and his "beauty school" queen, Mary. Oh, but they are oh so proper!

    ReplyDelete
  75. All good citizens of Tony Tank Creek, please stand up for the count.Everyone standing has been sworn to secrecy on the sacred bible or was their life threatened? Maybe their family would be in danger or an evil spell would be cast upon them by the wicked witch from the East- I mean the mayor of sin city. Money is not everything. Maybe you can eat the tall uncut grass like your dog to make ends meet. You can always take the christian attitude that it is better to give than to receive. Another view may be that your money has been invested for you. In this case, you may reap hundreds of dollars down the road.Meanwhile, starting this Saturday we expect all neighbors up and out working in their yards making this neighborhood looking it's best. Enjoy the fellowship while working together. Now everyone will know each other on a first name basis.Oh well, life goes on in sin city.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Joe - Is there any more news on Village at Tony Tank Creek embezzlement? Keep your nose to the grindstone - we need to know. Thanks for all you do.

    ReplyDelete
  77. what in gods name is going on with this? why hasn't this story broke the loose on our local news channels? has anyone been sent to jail?

    ReplyDelete
  78. I agree.... By damn a chicken falls off a truck and hits a car its on every channel... Or god forbid a waterman have one little ole' undersized crab and he looses his license and is smathered all over the media. But hell...go ahead and rob a bunch of people of thousands and thousands of dollars and its hush hush.... Come on people..... We work to damn hard for our money for a little wezel to snatch it away from us....and I am sure the wezel(s)would have snatch more before getting a hand caught in the cookie jar...... this is going to be like the landfill.....intially 400K was suspected....now its what???...over a million?

    ReplyDelete
  79. People have already lost their jobs because of this act of "embezzlement". People, who in fact had nothing to do with this alleged crime. They have lost their insurance and their stability.

Yet the people involved in this crime are still walking the streets of this town. Business as usual with a smile on their face. No one has been arrested for anything and the local news media is not doing or saying anything about it.

One of the previous posters is correct - A chicken falls off a truck and its news, but steal hundreds of thousands of dollars and we suddenly don't care. What about the innocent victims who now may lose everything they have because of someone else's thievery Something strange is going on in this town.

Maybe it’s time for the Baltimore/Washington area media to learn about this. Maybe they can open up this can of worms. No one here seems to care.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Forget about the community being too scared to say anything about this. If they have been advised by their attorney to keep mum then they will hve to live with the guilt. But there are people out here now - who had nothing to do with this scam and have or are about to lose their jobs. These people are about to, if they haven’t already lose their health insurance. And all the while the people/companies involved are doing business as usual. Imagine being the “victim” of a scam, knowing all the culprits and yet never having the swindlers arrested. What is the matter with these "people". Something is not right in this town.

Where is the media? Where are the police? Where is the FBI? These crooks seem to have a friend somewhere. What about the victim? IT IS A SHAME!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. The architectural firm has laid off a few workers and the ones that are left have been robbed of all of their benefits. Funny how these workers are guilty of nothing except working hard for an organization that was blind, ignorant and maybe even complicit in embezzlement. Ironically, the laid off employees were kicked to the curb into the streets, while the main embezzler is also out in the same streets.
A church, an architectural firm, a contractor and developers may be involved somehow in this mess. However, the only collateral damage right now are the employees who have been laid off. Shame on the architectural firm for abandoning their loyal employees.
Yet there have been no arrest in this miss. And no one seems interested in making any kind of case.
This post started out with the alleged embezzlement of $250,000, what is the cost now? Where are the voices of the community that was taken advantage of? Where is the accountability of the major players involved? Where is law enforcement? Where is the media?

    ReplyDelete
  82. The lawyer for the development has told the resident to keep quiet about the whole situation. The residents are not happy about the fact that their money was stolen and now they have to pay the lawyers fees.

I would press charges against everyone involved or that I think is involved. Let the police and the feds sort out the mess.

    The silence is deadening.

    ReplyDelete
  83. And the silence continues.... By damn I have never lived anywhere that rumors spread wildfire fast and corruption to be swept under the rug as if it never happened.

    ReplyDelete
  84. the latest word - from a resident, is that the money has been returned - with interest plus additional money - charges may still be filed

    ReplyDelete
  85. So what about the innocent people who lost thier jobs that worked for the "architect"? What about the remaining employees who now have no benefits? Even "if" money is returned, it came from somewhere where it should not have. WHERE IS THE JUSTICE?
