The Salisbury Fire Department Weight/Workout Room

Chief See stated that some 116 Firefighters die each year due to heart attacks. Well Chief, my guess would be the cigarettes and trying to keep tabs on who's at their home when they're stuck at the Fire Station. However, Chief See would like everyone to believe that this state of the art workout facility will keep his men and women healthy.

Pardon me for saying this Chief but your fat. I too carry extra weight on me but as of recently I chose to go on a diet and am quickly losing what I gained this winter. You made no mention of working out in there, therefore I expect you to be in that 116 statistics, sorry to say. Gordy isn't far behind.

Nevertheless Folks, See also stated there is not one facility in any Salisbury Fire Department for them to work out. Well, that's not exactly the truth. They used to have commercial equipment that was donated to them but they THREW IT OUT in order to build this new facility and buy all brand new equipment. Someone stated here not that long ago that there were also arrangements to take it to the dump, while another Firefighter allegedly pulled up and reloaded the equipment to take home.

That being said, let's now talk about the 5 high tech PLASMA TV's going into this room! Yes, you heard me right. Chief See stuck his chest out talking about how this facility will be no different from a professional gym. Only the very best for the Boys and Girls there, eh Chief?

I know of maybe a hand full of people that will actually take advantage of it but like a Pool Table, it will soon become a thing of the past and once the local Gym starts bringing in new equipment, the Taxpayers will be required to update the facility and after a few months it will be worthless once again.

  1. You know Joe, the more you print, the angrier I am getting. Where is the accountability for these expenditures? Why aren't the tax payers demanding more answers? I dont know about the rest of Salisbury, but damn it I like my hard earned money, and I'll be damned if my taxes should go up so I can pay for a fat ass chief and fire staff to work out. Oh and by the way, are they going to cook healthy foods in that state of the art kitchen, since they are so health conscious?

  2. Joe there you go again insulting the firefighter families refering to them checking to see who was at their houses while they are working. Just like with the Red light comment from the other post that you tried to cover up with a BS post about puting the lights in their own garage. Joe if you don't want it done to your family don't do it to all the firefighters families. I am tired of your romper room crap with this Fire Dept.

  3. The healthy food mentioned by Anon 10:47 is right on target. These guys buy and cook their own food as I unserstand it (and I have seen Fire Trucks parked at Giant on occassion), so if they are eating all the wrong foods, they are certainly doing it to themselves, and we tax payers should not have to pay for such gluttony! I also, don't really see the need for a hugh room full of workout equipment. Hell, one or two treadmills should have been enough and maybe a bike machine. Where do these guys come off with this and get away with it? There is a YMCA not too far away, full of exercise equipment. Couldn't they use that? Do they not have anybody with any intelligence running the Fire Stations?

If you are a member of the fire department, especially Salisbury I can't believe you are that naive. Just about every single firefighter has been through a divorce and some several times and this is because if infidelity. Yes the member are banging each others spouses and this has been going on for years. Ask the three fat asses at the top. All three have dabbled in infidelity. ROTFLMAO. And this is the truth and not just gossip. Anyone want to throw out some names of their flings?

  5. joe,
i am absolutely OUTRAGED at the equipment and OPTIONS that are being paid for by my tax dollars for this so called fire station. it looks more like a country club to me. a new gym facility, wow, the sheriff's office and state police don't have that, and they have to be in shape for their job. the fact is, noone is going to use that equipment, not when there is a kitchen and grill downstairs. the more you print and show, the more i can't beleive our so called "leaders" let this happen. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE!!!

Joe its funny you mention this because I ran into an attractive girl named Ginger the other day and we were discussing the fire department. Right out of the blue she mentioned that she slept with alot of the married fireman there. One name she mentioned was a guy named Hoppes. Does anyone know who this guy is?

You're new here, aren't you? Keep the phrase "Do as I say, not as I do" in mind, and you'll understand.

  10. Can you prove any of this. Do you have photographic proof that any of this happened? Probably not. No photographs, never happened.

  11. Joe you are mistaken.

There will be No Plasma TV's in that gym let alone 5. Its only wired for 2 TV's.

  12. I can only tell you what Chief See stated. Perhaps you should INFORM him of what is and isn't at that location.

The porno films were floating around the fire department with this girl in it. Ask a current acting assistant chief. This is common knowlege, right Chief See.

  14. The TV's in the kitchen, GYM, and Day Room are being purchased by the volunteers. There is a committee on the purchase of said TV's...

  15. The fitness room is highly anticipated by most everyone. I will certainly use it to keep myself in shape. Firefighting is physical job that requires you to be in good shape to do it well. I am 48 and have always stayed in shape.Todays members are younger and more health conscious. It is nice to see the members and the administration making an effort to be fit and better prepared for the task we face. The money spent on this room is an excellent investment toward a better work force. You will see less injuries from sprains, strains, back injuries and fatigue. Fitness rooms are becoming more common. Check out the Pepsi plant on Snow Hill Rd. They have one.

  16. Its a good thing you were not talking about the Ginger working there now. Talking about my sister girlfriend was getting me upset.

  17. Some folks' thought processes are far outdated. In order to help recruit and retain quality staff for a dangerous and important job, we must be willing to provide certain ammenities. A large part of this profession should encourage fitness. The fire department is like other businesses that are competing to recruit quality employees. The fire/police department in Cambridge, I would imagine, houses a fitness facility. You can't make everyone happy and most people tend to whine due to their own unhappiness.
