Ocean City Dough Rollers/Playland Fire
As I'm still pulling in details, here are some preliminary photos I thought everyone might enjoy seeing, many more to come.
Some are saying it started at Playland, some are saying it started upstairs in the apartments above Dough Rollers, Billy Gibbs, (Owner of Dough Rollers) stated there was no one living upstairs but I just got an inside report that there was a young lady and a friend allegedly living up there.
I don't care who you are, I don't think anyone is going to deliver any better pictures than what I'm delivering. Also, watch 47 WMDT News tonight as they were first on the scene and got some great footage.
More to come..........
It's a good thing that OCVFD showed up!!! Millville, Selbyville, Rehobeth.....was a great turnout of fire trucks. I am thankful no one got hurt and the fire was contained before more businesses were hurt.
ReplyDeleteThat is really sad. I have had some wonderful memories there growing up and now with my kids. When it's gone, it's gone.
ReplyDeleteI love to fight fire, but I hate to see history go up in flame. Good work with the coverage Joe.
Joe,
ReplyDeletePlease don't speculate about the start of the fire. As much area as it burned, it could have started anywhere.
Everything you heard at the fire is nothing but pure guesses right now.
Mr./Mrs. anonymous 5:19,
ReplyDeleteWhen you start your own Site, then YOU can do or say whatever you like. I took the time to go all the way out there and obviously provide you with photos and information I compiled while there.
Unless, of course, you're one of the Anti Albero Bloggers who couldn't be there because you were clueless till we had the Breaking News before anyone else?
Sorry to see a landmark go up in flames. It will surely be missed. Hope they will rebuild so that I may enjoy the food once again. I know that there are other Dough Rollers in OC, but I enjoyed the one on the boardwalk the mose. It was convienent.

Go Joe.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have known anything about this if not for sbynews.
Thanks for your hard work and all the effort. It IS appreciated.

You OC paid guys need to stop posting obvious comments. Are you telling me that nothing the Volunteer Chief does is right? Nothing?
ReplyDeleteIf the whole city were paid, the fire would not even have started because of there excellent Fire Prevention. You guys need to swallow your pride and realize that the Chief called in the resources he would have needed had the wind change direction.
But I don't expect you to realize that. You have an agenda and get paid full-time to shove your thoughts down the Mayor and City Manager's throat.
I live up in Montgomery CO and have some ex-relatives living there on the Eastern Shore. I remember frequenting that Dough Roller many, many times on my trips to OC.....glad no human casualties....good photographing....and.....I wonder who is rolling in the dough after the insurance claims were made on the incident??

I was the first person on scene for this fire. It definitely started upstairs.
