The pipe above in the last picture is believed to be the pipe that is the final destination into the Wicomico River all the way from the Wicomico County Landfill.
Joe you've just scratched the surface of polluted waterways in this county! Look into the history of the old "Wells'" Plant and the "Love Canal" ponds that surround it where I know for a fact that 15 years ago if you stirred the bottom it brought back memories of the water ski warnings from fellow skiers "Don't fall anywhere near the Wells' Plant or your skin will be on fire for days! And of course you'd fall with some help and your skin burned and you could smell creosote. From what I know there are still test wells on site but, the mud, silt and lack of water exchange will help the secrets of the surrounding ponds "safe" for now.
Chesapeake Shipbuilding has nothing to do with it. The photo there shows where the underground pipe from the pond across the street flows water under their property and directly into the River. I was informed by Salisbury Public Works Employees that's where the water gets from the Pond to the River. It's NOT their fault, Chesapeake Shipbuilders.
Don't forget that 6 foot pipe Barrie and her flying monkeys want to run down Waverly Drive with NO FILTRATION. Barrie & Bubba said the filtration will cost $250k and the city doesn't have that kind of money. YES IT DOES. There is $10.2 million sitting on the sidelines not being accounted for, SPEND THE MONEY NOW.
This pipe has nothing to do with all of those flooded yards in the Camden neighborhood. This pipe is a tool for Barrie to use for her reelection campaign. It will go something like this...
BARRIE: "I put the pipe in to relieve your water problems, Debbie Campbell didn't want to help the people in her own neighborhood".
TRUTH: Debbie Campbell WANTS the pipe installed WITH a filtration system to prevent the river from being filled with floatables.
BARRIE wanted to hide the $10.2 million so she could justify her 14% tax increase.
The first thing that comes to mind when seeing this is....How can we continually blame the farmers for the poor "health" of the rivers and the bay when this kind of thing goes on?
If the water is being pumped from the pond into the drainage system the soccer ball and foam sheets would clog the pump up.So the trash is coming from somer where else.
couple weeks ago, you couldn't drive in the right lane of 13 south for the water from the rain. from the overhead bridge to Isabella st. the ma'or should put a 72 inch pipe from 13, thru to the lake between the bridge & iasbella, maybe right thru her very own yard.

ReplyDeleteHoly mackerel. Does anyone know of a good independent lab?
ReplyDeleteWhat does the picture of Chesapeake Shipbuilding have to do with anything?

ReplyDeleteThe new pipe that the city wants to run to the river will be twice that size.

This list could go on and on and on.

ReplyDeleteThanks Joe for the investigative reporting. This is the type of reporting real newspapers USE TO DO. We are grateful.

ReplyDeletewe've always known, IT'S NOT the chicken farmers polluting the river.
ReplyDeleteyou wouldn't believe what they have to go thru to not pollute the river & bay.
