This note was passed to me from someone in Monday night's Council Meeting. My phone has literally been ringing off the hook, people asking me if I'm going to continue doing what I do so they can cancel their subscription to the Daily Times.
So the big question to all of you is, have you canceled your subscription too?
I cancelled it right after the election and the great deception by Louise Smith.
ReplyDeleteNo I have not cancelled my subscription, I feel it's just like everything else...we need to except change even if it is a little blurred. Hopefully this new press will work its way through that mess. Honestly, I don't like the size but worst things have happened.
ReplyDeleteHave you canceled your subscription?
ReplyDeleteThe daily rag is very lacking in both technical and clerical abilities. Can we save DelMarVa from disinformation and filter through what is prudent information for positive community growth?
ReplyDeleteMy subscription expires next month. I am not renewing after 35 years of reading. The blog is better, faster, fairer--I might get a Sunday or Wednesday paper to get the coupons, but I'm not even sure about that.
ReplyDeleteI plan to cancel the weekly subscripton and get the Sunday paper (if that is possible) delivered. The news on here is more up to date and quicker...and easier to read....its not bluured and I dont get black ink all over my hands when reading it.
ReplyDeleteI also will not advertise with the DT anymore as I am afraid I will pay for an ad that is only cut off half way or too blury to read.
Hope the DT is reading these comments...they will lose alot of customers I believe.
After 18 years of subscribing we mailed our cancellation today. My wife complained again last night about the print and blurs. The payment notice was on the table, so we made a note on it to cancel and did not place a check in the envelope. Between the print, and the content, it looks like the management of the Times is out to destroy the paper on purpose. They will succeed.
ReplyDeleteFarm boy
Mr. Albero,
ReplyDeleteOne person canceling their news paper subscription does not constitute “Everyone”. Nice headline for attention getting yet wrong again spreading false information
I have only lived here for 9 months and I wouldn't waste my money on a subscription to that paper. It takes 3 minutes to read the dang thing. I would rather drive up to Wawa a few times a week and buy the Washington Post and get some real news, plus your blog keeps me updated on all the goings on in Salisbury. You are more informative!!
ReplyDeletehaha that last comment sound like someone from the dail slime... and they are not happy hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI was sickened when i went to the store on sunday and paid full price for a paper that didnt have any coupons nor sales adds. I went back to check the five or six papers they had left and none in those either. But yet i paid full price.
ReplyDeleteIts just a figure of speech, RUBY
ReplyDeleteYour news is and opinion , as
ReplyDeleteyou have said. The times is and
should be facts.
I cancelled mine about a year ago and happy I did. If the reader who goes for the coupons would take the WashingtonPost on Sundays, you'llget plenty of coupons. That's what we did.
ReplyDeleteA. Goetz
Mr. Albero, you are MUCH better than the DT. Your wonderful.

I'm sure this is an error, The Daily Times is NOT fact based at all times. They slant the news to suit the wants, needs and opinions of Barrie Tilghman. Their strong suggestive commentary about Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen would have you believe all the woes of the city are due to them. The FACT is ALL of the woes of the city are in FACT due to the malfeasance of the Barrie Tilghman. Without her Greg Bassett might not have a job.
Get your FACTS straight and report them ACCURATELY otherwise the Daily Times is nothing more than opinion in print.
Joe, i moved to salisbury in 1992, and i cancelled my times subscription after just 1 year. wasn't hard to see the "good ol boy" bias that existed here in that paper. trouble is, it's still here. believe me, it is.
ReplyDeletejust watch as the mess at the landfill unfolds. guaranteed, the man who owns the trucks and equipment involved will get a handslap. WHY? because the officials who assisted in the thievery don't want their names mentioned. and it's a very long list, Joe. And, Mr. pumping service man knows those names. deals are being made RIGHT NOW, while i'm writing this. where are all these 12-15 arrests that were going to be made that were announced back in the days afetr the big busts were made? HORSESH!T! we'll see how this plays out. if the feds don't get in here, nothing will happen. because the county will make a paper JACKA$$ out of the investigation. guaranteed.
"I cancelled it right after the election and the great deception by Louise Smith."
ReplyDeleteSo did I, when the Times printed the crap about Tim Spies at Barrie's request/orders. When that election was fouled, partly by the fault of the Times, that was the end of fifteen years of wasted money for me.
I canceled my subscription after they killed my father ina an ambulance, gave him an autopsy, and quoted family members that they had never spoken with.
ReplyDeleteI have lived here forever! I am not duty driven. I have not subscribed to the Daily Nothing for over 12 years and I have not missed "Nothing". I get everything I need and more from the TV and living here for so long, if I wait long enough if it is important someone calls me on the phone to update me! Thank God, now we have Joe. Keep it up Joe. You are the Best... you and Fox News are all anyone needs.
ReplyDeleteMr. Albero,
ReplyDeleteI tip my hat off to you for your fine work you provide on a daily basis. Thanks for also always including other areas in the tri-county region. I keep getting calls at my job to subscribe to the DT, forget it your NEWS is better. Keep up the great job
Ok, I agree the Daily Times is bad. Most newspapers are bad. Almost all of the TV news is bad. If a person wants to learn what is happening, she/he must SEEK IT OUT. Blogs of all types are the best place to look. An intelligent person can sort through the "opinion" and "read between the lines". Almost everyone has and angle. Thanks to Joe for your contribution here.
ReplyDeleteJoe- I have great respect for you. You are fair and honest in your thinking and intelligent in assessing the wrongs that take advantage of the average honest citizen.People like you should run for elected office and lead this city, county and state out of the corruption that continues to eat away our trust in government.Thank you for the long hours you spend in research, attending meetings and questioning anything that looks suspicious.Angels must help you unlock the secret deals and secret favors given to the elite.
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteI cancelled the DT after 3 weeks. All i ordered was the Sunday paper for the coupons. Ths first paper delivered was a Monday copy on Monday morning, no Sunday paper. I called and got a credit and was told it would be taken care of. Next Sunday, still no paper and wouldn't youi know it Monday morning I left my house and there was another Monday edition paper. I called yet again, ripped the sales person a new one about how bad this was and was given more credit back and was insured it was taken care of. Next Sunday again no paper, but guess what? Monday morning there was yet again a Monday peper. I called told them where to put the paper, got my money back and cancelled. I have never looked back. How good can they be when they can't even get the delivery right. And my wife last weekend also found that there were no coupons in our Sunday paper from Royal Farms. Daily Times eat them or something? $1.25 for a regular paper. Crappy newspaper
