Delmar Fire Chief's Wife Allegedly In Car Accident This Morning

Someone recently commented that the Wife of one of the Fire Chief's in Delmar was allegedly in a serious accident today responding to a fire call.

Again, allegedly, they ran a stop sign and struck a woman coming from the high school with her kids in the car. The lady had to be cut out of the car.

Again, I truly enjoy the Fire Chief of Delmar and I'm sorry to hear of this accident. The concern of the reader is, of course, why are Firefighters running stop signs?

Maybe this kind of stuff has been going on a lot more than we ever knew, it just wasn't being reported? Gotta love that Daily Times, eh?

  2. Well before the fire department bashing starts let me just say that this horrible and our thoughts and prayers should be with ALL those involved in the accident. Unfortunately the running of the stop signs happens too often and is usually (at least in my experience) dealt with by the fire departments. It is (again in my experience) or should be a rule in the fire departments that if you are caught not following local traffic laws while responding to the call, discipline action is taken. Again, I hope nobody was seriously hurt.

  4. A check with Sussex EOC reveals there were no calls in progress at the time of the accident.

  5. Why would one of the Chief's wives run a stop sign "going to a call"? Is she in the FD? Come on Albero. Post some facts for a change instead of this pansy crap. You want everyone to take you seriously then you post this B/S.

  6. Let me explain this so some of you simple minded attack artists get it straight this time.

Someone commented earlier that this happened. It's on another post elsewhere.

That being said, since it hasn't been confirmed, it is alleged. Are any of YOU stating this accident never happened???

Well, the was an accident at that location today, but it in the afternoon, it was not the Chief's wife, and they were not answering a call. Also, popping a door open is not cutting the person out of the car. So, YES, the accident you have described never happened.

  9. Someone said that there was not a call in progress when this happened, but from what I heard on my radio there was. A man was cutting down a tree on spruce street and when it came down a piece of said tree hit him and knocked him out. One ambulance from Delmar FD was already out at PRMC on a different call and they were having trouble getting an ambo out for the tree call. They even called for additional manpower from the station because they had no help, not long after that they were alerted for an accident but it seemed a like a little while before the accident came across so I don't know that it was someone responding to the call for the man that got hit.
