Mayor Barrie Tilghman Blames High Nutrient Level on Pigeons & Dogs!

While WMDT announced at 6:00 PM this evening that something was VERY wrong at the Salisbury WWTP, the Mayor was proudly speaking to the Wicomico Democratic Club tonight playing down the seriousness of the leak/spill.

Once Barrie finished her speech she asked if there were any questions. After one or two questions I raised my hand and as the Mayor desperately wanted to ignore me, the crowd was too small so she said, (in a very nasty tone, seriously) JOE!

I said, "WMDT reported tonight two weeks after the spill that the highest acceptable nutrient level to humans was 32. Test result today from the Wicomico River was 56, nearly double the acceptable level. That being said, is the City willing to go back and look at the calculations and see just why these levels are so high two weeks after the accident?

Mayor Tilghman replied, NO! She went on to say that pigeons and dogs can create a higher nutrient level in the river, (Dee, Dee, Deeee)! She also blamed the heavy rains recently. I did repeat the numbers and Mayor Tilghman said that they were accurate. One friend said, then what do we have on out streets that would create such high "nutrient" levels?

This is just the beginning of a very serious matter. I'm told the Press is digging in deep on this one as they will now hold their own investigation on this matter as these numbers simply are not acceptable. Well, the other Press, that is. I doubt The Daily Times will investigate much of anything on this one.

First: great photo - she really looks psychotic.

Next: it's no surprise she is an expert on the toxic effects of excrement -- that's what she has been spouting for almost 10 years as mayor.

Last: I hope that she was sliced and diced on the City audit-budget debacle, but this was a Democrat party function so that probably did not happen. Please advise.

  2. That's the same blank stare of a dead woman walking that her pal Hillary has these days. It's over for both of them, and they deserve that and each other.

Bye, Bye, Barrie -- you have about a year left to screw Salisbury even more before you become history.

You gotta wonder if she got some bad vibes about what just happened to Ray Lewis (the ASAP man).

  3. Why does she have a bottle of Deer Park water in her hand - what's wrong with her drinking City Water?

  4. After all that rain we got? The levels are still that high? That's bull I drive past the park everyday twice a day at least and there isn't anywhere near the goose populations we had in years past.

    The rain is freshwater DUH~!
Most of the seagulls around here hang out at the dump.

  8. Dear Mr. Albero:

I heard her say this to you at the meeting:

    So set 'em up Joe;
    I've got a little story
that I want you to know
    We're drinking my friend
To the end of a brief episode
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

    I know the routine, so
    Put another nickel in
    that there machine
    I'm feeling so bad
    that you make the music
    easy and sad

I could tell you a lot but
you gotta to be true to your code
So make it one for my baby
And one more for the road

    ... hic...

  10. OK Follow me here:
Barrie is full of sh@t + Barrie sh@ts in the sewer which was spilled partially treated into the Wicomico = High sh@t level in Wicomico it all seems like common sense to me!

  11. Are you kidding me with the pigeons and the dogs? Well, I guess she has to tell that lie because of the lie about the small amount of sewage released into the river. Yet, she continues to get away with it!

  12. Where is the MDE? This river is already on the Impaired Waterway list for bacteria! Somebody is lying their a$$ off about the amount of sewage spilled. Does she rally think anyone beieves that it has been caused by pigeons and dogs?

  13. The river may be safe to use by the time the new 6ft. drainage pipe is installed.

  16. William Donald Shaffer was right about The Eastern Shore. Well at least he was right about Salisbury and Wicomico County. We just can't get away from SHIT! The Mare is full of it, the River is full of it, and even the crooks are full of it.

  17. So the inference is that perhaps Ray Lewis was dumping "unmetered" sewage into the river? Come on you people who really know, "spill it"

  18. That look on her face appears to be asking herself, swallow or Spit?
