Kudos To The Citizens Of Salisbury

Talk about a massive turn out! The crowd was so large, they had to actually move the meeting to the main Council Chambers because so many turned out. However, it's even more important people turn out on Thursday! We want answers and they're clearly hiding things.

Look, Barrie Tilghman was too quiet last night. Gary Comegys was too quiet and Shanie, well, she's clueless anyway because she trusts these people. I knew that meeting wasn't going to make it last night and I told everyone that. The fact that the key person, Pam Oland wasn't there told me instantly, there's NO WAY a Boss would let someone who is not feeling so well, not to show up. I would be saying, you don't show up, YOU don't have a job! Barrie didn't want her there, that's all there is to it.

Would YOU ever think of flat out missing YOUR most important meeting of the year, dependent on YOUR Department? The Citizens were set up and screwed last night. Now, that being said, Louise may have helped us all in the long run. The meeting ended and now we can expect Pam to be there and take her beating. However, were they slick in the fact that NOW they won't be given as much time with the Auditors and Pam Oland? Yep, that's my guess.

Don't be fooled by this Mayor and her games Ladies & Gentlemen. They knew if the people showed up at 4:30 in the afternoon, they were going to FIND a way to shut that meeting down and that's why everyone was so quiet. It was a set up, period. Now let's see where it goes from here?

  1. Once again I'll ask the question that no one wants to answer. What, exactly does taking full responsibility mean? Barrie wouldn't answer me, Louise couldn't answer me, it wasn't in her script. Gary and Shanie ran like bats out of hell so there was no asking them. Debbie Campbell said she did not know. YIPPEE an answer. So, what is the answer?

  2. And kudos to the people who spoke out last night. I think it shows we are not going to take it anymore, keep up the good work.

That is the whole point with Louise. She doesn't even try to hide the fact that as long as she is "the chair" 2 council persons will always be out of order or over their time limits. That is why the audience started laughing when she had one of her tirades last night. The irony, the arrogance, the comedic and the tragic all coming together on a collision course, when she abused her own authority by an attempt at grandstanding, and then chiding another council member "Oh that's ok, you'll get your time" when everyone present know that is never the case. Then she proceeds to single one member of the public to give a public flogging (when several people in the audience had been laughing at the total hypocrasy on display) and that person decided to reply to Mrs. Smith in a like manner--venting a frustration and anger that has building for months over the sad state of affairs of our city government, and the futile attempts of 2 council persons to give the citizens of Salisbury something that shouldn't have to be fought for---Answers to appropriate questions about the taxpayors money, dignity, truth in government. Mrs. Smith should remember--respect is not blindly given, it is earned.

Mrs. Campbell and Cohen, I hope you can stay on until the next election. Perhaps we can find some people who take the business of the city and subsequent financial responsibility seriously.

As for Mr. Comegys and Ms. Shields-why did you hightail out of the meeting so quickly, leaving your collegues to sort things without you?

Mayor, your excuses and corrections do not explain to my satisfaction how all this money disappears and shows up under scrutiny.

Louise Smith should move to Sheba if she wants to be the queen.

  5. excellent job Joe! But keep in mind it does not really matter what YOU want it is What the SALISBURY citizens want! And I believe that they all want this to be cleared up and squared away, I smell a rat somewhere and it smells like money in someones boat or house. By the Way very well said

  6. I hope those who turned out will be at the next city elections. Maybe the poor turnout will come to an end due to voters not realizing the importance of their vote. When you allow others to elect lousy leaders and allow lousy officials to stay in office this is what happens.

  8. "I take full responsibility for the deficiencies and issues raised," Tilghman said. "I am committed to addressing these issues immediately, in a comprehensive and sustainable manner."

IT'S DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN! Let's have accountability this time.

  9. No, none of the scheme team or their mentors were there. There were 2 people there to bolster Louise, Eleanor Mulligan and Kay Beck. Everyone else that was there was concerned about the audit and the auditors findings. As far as I could tell, no one gave a rats patoot about anything else.

Louise was overly dramatic which made it even more apparent that the game plan was to find a way to shut the meeting down before any questions were asked and that is exactly what the drama queen did.

I wish everyone in the city could have seen them squirm while in the conference room. It was clear the people have had enough and now wanted not just answers or commentary they wanted the truth. The truth is the one thing of which this administration is incapable.

  10. They weren't there because THEY KNEW the meeting would be shut down.

Think about it. I know MOST of you reading this Blog don't attend these meetings but let me assure you of one thing. Louise Smith and Barrie Tilghman have known for MONTHS there was a serious problem with the Audit, that's why it's late.

That beoing said, Louise Smith started weeks ago stating she would recess and or adjourn any meeting if someone interupted the CHAIR.

They have been preparing for this for months. No one was slick enough, (except me) to see it coming. They were NOT going to let the Auditors be the target of Debbie or Terry, not publicly anyway!

Granted, if there were only 4 people in the room, no Press, they would have let the meeting continue. They knew for a fact Citizens would want answers and they shut that damn meeting down months in advance.

The Cathcarts didn't need to be there because they knew ahead of time what was going to happen. That's why Barrie also stepped away from a direct hit from Debbie and Terry right away too.

Think about it. When has Barrie ever not stood toe to toe with Debbie & Terry? She lives for that moment! She got up and let John Pick sit in her place because she knew the meeting would never get that far!

YOU'VE BEEN SCAMMED ONCE AGAIN BY MAYOR TILGHMAN!

  11. Barrie and Louise on counting also on a dwindling of interest in this matter. We cannot let that happen.
We must keep up the momentum and the questions--do not let Barrie squirm out of this. She's twisting now, her eyes are blinking and she's stuttering--all normal signs she exhibibits when her plan is not working. We can now read her like a book! It's up to us to keep on her butt.

  12. When you hear the names of Barrie, Louise, Gary, Pam, John, Shanie or the words audit, responsibility, compliance just remember 3 little words...ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

  13. Nalagirl, asked why Comegys and Shields departed in such a hurry. My belief is that they had worked up and appetite doing all that heavy lifting.

  14. You would think that someone who "Thinks" they will be the mare of the 'Bury would offer up an explanation at least to their constituents thru the media. That didn't happen either
