The Salisbury Doctor, (Mahamad Shirazi) accused of sexual assault was found NOT GUILTY at 4:30 PM today.
Time and time again Doctors are charged with these kind of things and quite frankly it ticked me off seeing this Doctor being brought into Court, (or wherever he was on tv) in handcuffs!
Insurance goes through the roof and the expense of always having an assistant in the same room at all times is what creates enormous rates for a visit to the Doctor.
Hats off to Cynthia MacDonald for a job well done!
very disappointing. i guess when more victims start coming forward again, maybe someone will beleive them. prime example of mis justice in this country.
ReplyDeleteif he did do what he was charged of then by all means I hope he gets what he deserves!
ReplyDeletenow with that being said, if he is the victim, found not guilty. Then I think the person who started this case against him should be liable for ALL cost the he occurred for this. They should also reimburse for his time, lost wages, and mental stress.
Some law suites are a people's way of life. a get rich quick scam!!!!!
joe,
ReplyDeletei love your blog. hats off to you. but really, you don't know your facts on this one. do some research. just cause he was found not guilty does not mean it didn't happen.
And, so I suppose the it would be equally true that just because someone is found guilty does not mean he was not innocent.
ReplyDeleteOnly the doctor knows the truth. I think the jury did their job. If he is guilty, time will tell.
ReplyDeleteanon536, the court says she never filed charges till after she got the bill. Were you in the examining room with her?
ReplyDeleteThere was no corrorobation or physical evidence to support her allegations. The woman didn't tell anyone of the alleged encounter for 6 months. She actually went back to him for another office visit afterwards. Nothing was said until she was unhappy with the billing of her visits. She's either a LIAR or VERY STUPID. In either case, a NOT GUILTY verdict was justified. This ase shouldnt have even gone to trial.
ReplyDeleteNot guilty does not mean innocent. Joe, please tell Jennifer to think twice if she ever thinks about going to him.
ReplyDeletewho was the lead investigator in this case
ReplyDeleteCynthia MacDonald? Paul Wilber's firm handled this case?
ReplyDeleteThat taints it right there for me!
I don't know the facts of the case, but knowing Wilber's firm was involved make it smell like OJ Simpson's!
joe,
ReplyDeletei love your blog. hats off to you. but really, you don't know your facts on this one. do some research. just cause he was found not guilty does not mean it didn't happen...
and the other side says...
Just because someone is found guilty, does not mean it did happen...
This case always seems a litte weird to me. Sounded like a "get rich quick" scheme. Never understood why it took 6 months to file the report and she even went back to him.
Sounds to me like eastside trailer trash trying to make a quick buck!
I agree...usually I find you to be right on target. Do your research, at least 30 other women came forward. They were not allowed to testify to what he had done to them. Only to if the found him to be a truthful man. When the case comes up to take his license they will ALL be able to testify to what he had done to all of them....all them are very similar. This poor woman came forward. She and her family has gone through hell for THIS!!! THIS is why more women keep it to their self. Bury their shame. The only shame here...the victim will now be made out to be a liar. She will NEVER BE A LIAR. She is a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. I am HONORED to call her MY FRIEND!!!! No one person will ever meet any one more honest then her.
ReplyDeleteDirectly to the right of this post, it says you have one post for 2009. I don't think that is correct friend!

ReplyDelete"he was charged of"
Should be charged with.
Some law suites...
FYI suites = sweets
Cynthis is not only a great attorney, she's good people too. There may be many that disagree with Paul Wilber but you have no right atacking someone in his Office simply because they work there. I'd hire her for the right case, I can assure you of that. Then again, that would be a conflict of interest, I think?
ReplyDeletePerhaps doubt is cast on the woman because of the timing of her complaint. So be it. When the other 25 or 30 women come forward and are allowed to be heard, we'll see if 25 or 30 excuses can be found to discount their allegations.
ReplyDeleteThe media reports indicated that some nurses testified against him. Maybe they too were upset with their bills and decided to commit perjury. I wonder what reason was found to think they were lying.
It was smart of the defendant's law firm to assign a woman to the case. Very transparent, though.
disappointing, indeed. the cost of assistants is not the reason for high fees. what's the assistant doing while he's with the patient.
ReplyDeleteit used to be a dr. had to have an assistant when examining a female patient just to prevent such a thing.. whatever happened to the practice?
as a pro in the field, i personally have had this very thing happen MANY times over!
when a man puts his genitals up against your hand or anywhere on your body and you accuse him of something, all he has to do is say excuse me if it was accidental or deny it if it wasn't.
believe me it happens ALL THE TIME!
It would take 6 mos. for most to decide was this what I think it was and should I tell someone. If yes is the answer is yes, the question is whom do you tell.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to all the others who said the same thing?
This has been "going around" for quite some time.
And how can you prove such a thing?
It would be the same old, "he said, she said" argument.
More than "only the doctor" knows the truth. So does the accuser. they need 3 people in an examination room. Doctor, nurse or assistant and patient.

How could there be, for pete's sake?
If I were she, I'd bill him for "coping a feel"
ReplyDeleteThe DT has a statement from the prosecutor indicating that Maryland law prevented testimony from 10 women with the same complaint against the doctor. They waited for almost 3 days in hopes their stories could be heard. Guess all of them are lying and just like to hang around courtrooms.
ReplyDeleteCan all these women who are now will to testify place new charges against this guy? Individually or as a group? If that many are willing to come forward surely this has credibility and this aledged sex offender needs to be delt with before he gets you daughter or wife...
ReplyDeleteIs this the first time Dr. Shirazi has been accused of conduct like this? Where was he before coming to Salisbury? Might be wise to find out.
ReplyDeleteFor your information he was practicing at TLC in Princess Anne before establishing his own practice. He is originally of Middle Eastern descent, which explains some of the prejudice displayed towards him.I will defend that man to the death because of what he did for my Mother.I also have a friend who says Dr.Shirazi saved his life.He had NUMEROUS former patients and supporters in the courtroom.I have also been ALONE with him in his house on several occasions when he employed me and he has never been nothing but a total gentleman in my presence and while I am no Sophia Loren,I certainly could get a man to cop a feel if he was so inclined.(sorry to be so raw,but...)The man has been cleared-please let him get on with his life. However,I would not blame him one bit if he left the state or the country altogether after being ruined like this.
ReplyDeleteTo 2:23
ReplyDeleteIt is noble of you to defend your friend. But if all of these women were prejudiced against someone of Middle Eastern descent, why would they choose him as a doctor? I don't think we can play the prejudice card here. If you think all of them are out for money or they're just liars, fine but prejudice doesn't seem a good defense.
Imagine that. Totmom piling on. Listen, I know someone who got felt up by this dirtball but won't come forward because she doesn't want to get involved in a court case and all the humiliation. If Shirazi wouldn't feel you up totmom, obviously you're not humpable.
ReplyDeleteAnon 5:58
ReplyDeleteI defended him because I believe he is innocent and I did it without resorting to petty personal digs like whether one is "humpable" or not.I didnt attack the alleged victims in any way nor did I say anything negative about them. All I can say is that while there may be about 10 accusers,he also has dozens of loyal patients on the other side who believe in him and miss their doctor.
Of course sex abusers don't abuse everyone they come in contact with. What is difficult for the victims is the number of people who say because it didn't happen to me, it didn't happen to you either.
ReplyDeletewell it looks like the great doctor got what he deserved. his license was
ReplyDeleterevolked this month.
joe, do some reading on the maryland board of physicians website under dr.shirazi's name. their is where you will find what
ReplyDeletereally happened.
