DOH! As Homer Simpson Would Say

This just in,

"I don't know whether this is the truth or not. Rumor has it that Ken Townsend has jumped ship. Disappeared."

  1. I'm sure! This is what happens when you're released without bail. I hope (not really) that they never find him and they (courts) can blame themselves. After all the hard work Mike Lewis and the others have done just to have it all disappear. They'd better keep a close watch on the others as well.

  2. I hope that is not the case. Hopefully he is in witness protection and squealing like a pig.

  3. Well if it is true, you have no one to thank other than Commissioner Dryden for releasing them on their own recognizance. Everyone of these people are flight risks. It doesn't take a rocket scientist or a commissioner of the court to figure out someone charged with this magnitude of theft, at his age, has nothing to lose by running.

Adios, Mr. Townsend, enjoy the rest of your life on the backs of the Wicomico County taxpayers.

Now someone go arrest commissioner Dryden for incompetence of office.

  4. He sounds like the Cesar guy who is hiding out in Mexico wanted for questioning about the Marine. Maybe he went down to Mexico to join up with him!

  5. I have a source that says he phoned a friend last night. He called from a local cell number but guess that does not mean he isn't in Mexico.

Unbelievable. I hope if it is true that commissioner is FIRED!

  6. I don't think you all understand how the whole bond system works. The commissioner has guidelines they must go by and bond is set according to those guidelines. If a person has never been in trouble before and they do not have any "failure to appears" for previous cases, and they are not currently out on bond for another case, and they live locally and have otherwise been stable in the community and it is not a violent crime (although the dollar amount is high, this is a crime against property not against a person) then it is reasonable for the bond (or lack of) to be what it is in this case. I think you all are on a witch hunt. Let the wheels of justice turn as they may.

  7. I don't beleive for a second Kenny
Towsend or for that matter any of these people are going anywhere. Fact, Towsend's father passed away
recently, I read the funeral is this Saturday. Hope this is just
    another of the many rumors!

  9. the court commissioners have criteria that has to be met from the charging documents that they receive from the various agencies. stop blaming commissioner Dryden, it is not her fault. rather wise up, and learn how the system is supposed to work. i have had to work around the district court commissioners before, and listen to them try and explain to various people about making sure their charging documents contain ALL the proper info to accurately let them do their job. some people just want to yell about having someone's head removed, and most of the time they don't know what they're talking about.

  10. Anon 11:38 - Thanks for that insight and it definitely makes sense. I too know the individuals involved and do not believe they will be going anywhere (other than prison). I do think though when the chips are stacked as high as they are now, people tend to exhibit some very odd and sometimes violent behavior. Hope everyone keeps an eye on their back that is involved in this fiasco!

  13. Not many people have seen Kenny around, DUH! I probably wouldn't be going out in public on a regular basis either if I supposedly stole all this money and stuff, that would be like asking someone to kick your ass. He is just staying home and basically laying low until his day in court comes, I personally would do the same, wouldn't you?

  15. Has anyone heard when they will face a grand jury?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh the way it looks now they will be charged or should be charged with felony theft.

That's almost as bad have having your birthday taken away. Can't vote, can't own a gun and very tough to get a job.

The punishment does fit the crime.

  17. I just thought you should know, public records are available at the District Court. You can see what was written before you crucify the commissioners office. You can see how well the detectives wrote the probable cause. I was told the charging defectives only did one arrest and then decided to do applications for charges on the rest when Sheriff Lewis wanted all of them arrested. Talk about incompetence. They can't even follow directions of the Sheriff. What makes you think they can handle a case this big? Time to bring in the big guns to help Mike Lewis out since he doesn't get the help he needs from within.

  18. I guess Grand Jury won't be done until Davis gets back.

  19. I read somewhere the grand jury would convene March 10th. Who knows now with this mess with Davis.

  20. I've been on the highways and by-ways of this county enough to confirm that "What's yellow & sleeps 4? A Wicomico County truck!" Half the recreation department couldn't pass a drug test! I say clean house shut everything down besides vital services and audit every department and start fresh with a hiring fair! And I'm serious! This county from bottom to top has smelled like a cesspol for to long! And look at what you get for that nice tax bill! Maybe ole' Willy Don Schaffer was right we are from the "sh*t house side of Maryland." And Robin Holloway is a nice women but,the Board of Ed could stand a shake up of major proportions as well. I've lived here all my life but,now own property in Delaware and I'm ready to dig the footers right about now!

  21. Mr. Townsend must not have been too upset to party. Ask any Moose Lodge member that was in O.C. last weekend. Sounds like he may have needed a ride home like Davis Ruark did. Guess he was drowning his sorrows. How sad!!

  22. The commissioner deal is correct you do ahve to follow that, but you also have to use your common sense, take the risk set a bond, if it is unfair they get a bond hearing. Joe you can research which county has the highest FTA rate. That would show the truth.

  23. A commissioner should take a risk of losing a job for what? So someone gets a bail. There are policys in place to protect rights. The judicial body sets them in place after many upon many reviews betwene lawyers and judges. Thats why commissioners do what they do. Not just take risks at things. Come on now. This is the mentality that allowed that docotr to walk on the sexual assault charges last week. Its call dumb, narrow minded jury syndrome.

  24. Old Fisherman:
I take offense to the accusations regarding the county personnel and drug tests. Just so you know, we are subjected to random drug testing and believe me, they do it. As for the yellow and sleep 4 thing, you must be thinking of the State Highway. We dont have any crew cab trucks. We have to cram 3 of us into a dump truck. I know your type. You have been disgruntled about something in your life and just want to complain and rant to make yourself feel good. I see you claim to be a traveler. Well the sooner you leave the better we will be. I think you would be suprised at how the operations at the county are run. I bet you couldnt hang with the hard work. As far as simply clearing house, they had better have a damn good reason to fire somebody and some proof. I have a family to support and have done nothing wrong. So you can shove your comments up your a$$.
    Sincerely,
    County Worker
