Andy HarrIs Win In MD-01 Is A Victory For Maryland Taxpayers

Washington – Tonight, the Club for Growth PAC’s endorsed candidate, State Senator Andy Harris, won the Republican primary in Maryland’s First Congressional District against incumbent Congressman Wayne Gilchrest.

Andy Harris campaigned on a message of economic conservatism, calling for lower taxes, an end to wasteful government spending, and greater economic freedom. With a solid victory over Wayne Gilchrest, it is clear that Harris’ strong record of standing up for taxpayers in Maryland’s State Legislature and his message on the campaign trail resonated with Republican voters. Voters refused to settle for pork barrel spending and higher taxes when they had a taxpayer hero like Andy Harris to vote for.

“We extend a hearty congratulations to Andy Harris and are confident he will win the general election in November,” said Club for Growth President Pat Toomey. “It is clear from tonight's victory that voters want their representatives to stand up and fight for limited government and economic freedom. In Andy Harris, Maryland Republicans have found such a person.”

  2. Joe, I have a question I would like Mr.Harris to address with a direct answer.
If elected exactly what legislation would he introduce or support to fix the Tax Code and Social Security?
Middle income people can ill-afford to continue to be taxed at 25%,and why should we have to pay tax on Social Security earnings that have already been taxed.
I believe there is significant interest in these two issues and his DIRECT answer would garner him a lot of support.
Us, senior citizens have had years of wishy washy answers and promises, time for some straight talk.

The senior citizens of this nation can ill afford to continue on the path the Federal Govt has us on.
I asked Mr. Harris if he was aware of the "The Platform of The American People" hopefully he will reply to my email to him regarding my concerns. Will let you know when and if I hear back from him.
