It was one year ago today the SPD apprehended this gentleman for spitting in a parking lot. Because the Officers Radio kept breaking up, the SPD thought the Officer was in trouble so they came in from everywhere to back one of their own up.
The Judge dropped the case just a few short weeks ago during a Jury Trial.
DID THE COMMISSIONER RELEASE HIM ON PR OR PUT HIM IN JAIL UNTIL TRIAL??
ReplyDeleteHe was in jail for quite a while till I believe he bailed out.
ReplyDeleteHe spit on the officer Joe. That's why he was arrested.
ReplyDeleteThat's an out and out LIE!
ReplyDeleteHe did NOT spit ON the Officer and as a matter of fact, at trial the Officer even admitted that he didn't know if he allegedly spit on the car or not. The Judge wasn't buying ANY of it and dropped the case completely.
I know the above comment came from a Police Officer and with all due respect, you guys do a great job every single day but sometimes we ALL have bad days and this was one of them.
Also notice, (and I have quite a few photos) that this guy was NEVER brought to the ground. He didn't resist and if he did he would have been brought down to the ground. There were several Officers against one. please don't tell me you couldn't have brought him to the ground?
I should add, the Officer was in the the car when the perp allegedly spit on the ground, allegedly towards the car. He couldn't have spit ON the Officer. Again, I was in the Court Room and not once did the Officer say he spit at him or on him.
ReplyDeleteHe did not spit on the officer. The police jumped the gun. The Judge did the proper thing, without pointing the finger at undertrained, underpaid, under educated and over zealous police officers. Probably not a bad civil suit. I was in the courtroom that day too. Glad I am not African American and live in Salisbury
ReplyDelete12:06--You sound like a Public Defender. One that has no idea what she's doing though...
ReplyDeleteYou know whats pathetic??? 7 comments on this post because its a "bad day" for law enforcement...someone even made it into a race issue (give it up already) and yet the previous post about the good work our SPD officers are doing...theres not one comment!! Not til I open it anyway!
ReplyDeleteThanks SPD for trying to clean up the streets!! Some of us DO appreciate you!
