The word on the street is that a Local Fire Fighter was suspended recently for allegedly using the N-Word on an Employee of a Salisbury WaWa Store. Personnel matters are private but IF there's any truth to this, I'm personally glad to see these local Fire Chief's taking these matters far more serious than before. This is what we call, progress. My personal thanks go out to those trying to make a difference and better the reputation of the Eastern Shore AND the reputation of the Fire Departments.
Local, which department?
ReplyDeleteSomeone was suspended from Station 16 last week.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to get into any finger pointing. My post clearly spells out how "I" feel about it. We're moving in the right direction and that's all there is to it.
ReplyDeleteIf its the incident I heard about. There should be police report involved...
ReplyDeleteThere is a police report involved from everything I heard about the incident. I am sure you can find that out Joe, when you do let the rest of us know, won't you?
ReplyDeleteJust call a spade a spade.
ReplyDeleteNot sure of all the details but, a career firefighter received a 30 day suspension for his recent actions in a local 2 wa. If what I here is correct her deserved the punishment handed down by the admin. I was told he was off duty, wearing a F.D. jacket while very intoxicated and began arguing with employee's. WaWa is very good to fire & police departments always offing a hot cup of coffee. In return we help them when ever possible.
ReplyDeleteCheck out John Hitches record. Hes trouble and always has been. Joe wont mess with him because John will f**k him up for sure. John is a crazy driver and will kill someone someday
ReplyDeleteStation 16? What happened to those little angels from the SFD that claimed there wasn't any racism now or ever. They kept attacking Joe for bring out the dirt but they never thanked him for helping them get those pay raises they just got. I guess they forgot the positive coverage they got from this site during the election.

What's your point? Is this the person that got 30 days? Is that a threat to Joe? Everyone knows he is going to kill someone with his bad driving skills. There is a video from a dashcam on the engine floating around where this person was blowing through intersections responding to a reported house fire. It is on tape where he just missed a dump truck in the intersection. This same person was also caught several times with missing fire department tools in his vehicle. This same person was also caught for DUI and had to blow through a straw to start his vehicle. Others have been fired for getting dui off duty. For some reason certain officers seem to always protect this person. Check his background at the vollie station in PG County where he used to volunteer. It is said that he was kicked out of there for doing something illegal. Nice guy at times but he is trouble and it is going to cost the city of salisbury and the fire department one day. He is one person that should never have been hired by the city. He is what some people refer to as a liability. Again David See and Gordy making bad choices.
Bad apple.
ReplyDeleteYou know what this is why ppl are considered A**holes Joe was very respectful for leaving a name out of this article. I am sure he knew the name but decided not to say it. Anon. 7:31 shame on you for putting A(notice I put the letter A instead of a name because i do not know if this is the person suspended or not) name out there. Now to go on about Mr. Hitch.. Why do you all need to bash him??? Yes his driving is a little crazy and different from many other SFD drivers.(Just remember if it was your house on fire how fast would you want firefighters there) But someone please tell me why you have to bash one of the better drivers SFD has(that is my opinion). Yes he has had his problems but doesn't everyone... The guy is one of the best engineers out there... If your on a fire and he is pumping you can at least have piece at mind knowing that your going to be able to fight that fire....You will get the water you need and you can trust that he will be throwing the ladders necessary if you need to bale... Now if someone else has different opinions then me..good for you..go ahead and tell them to us...And just remember everyone has screwed up sometime in their lifetime..haven't you??
ReplyDelete"If my house was on fire"... I would want the fire department to get there quick. I would want them to get there without hurting anybody else or themselves. If they are in a wreck responding to a fire they can do nothing to help me. That isnt just here that is anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThe bottom line is that when you are in a public service position, you have to watch what you say and do in any public setting. Technically the tax payers and citizens that are served are the “share holders” of the city. I think the word “boss” is not appropriate and should be left to the city “leaders” regardless of personal opinions. Theses are the people in trusted by the citizens to effectively run the city based on their knowledge and management skills. Back to the point at hand, public figures should be held to a higher standard and no given multiple chances when they screw up because of who they know.
ReplyDeleteRegarding this individual’s known history of insubordinance to any officer who does not agree with his methods and arrogance, the fact that he may “know what he is doing” is irrelevant. This person has no regard for anyone but himself. He is a “glory hound” and a “freelancer” on the fire ground. It’s almost like he has a death wish, whenever the siren blows. It is a shame because he could be an asset if he was not so worried about trying to look like some kind of Super Hero and, just did his job. It is no exaggeration that he is going to kill someone if left unchecked. And I don’t know of anyone in their right mind who would think that it’s “ok” to respond to a call “balls to the wall” with no regard to the safety of your crew or the family that you may have almost killed so that you could save 30 seconds getting to a call. A wise man once said “We do not trade lives”.
THE APPLE DONT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE. HIS DAD IS STEVE HITCH FROM THE OLD HITCH INS. WHERE ROBINSONS IS NOW. AND HE HAS BEEN KNOWN TO BE A LITTLE SHADY

yes i remember this and this was tied to some issues with someone high up in the spd and it involved automobiles.
Most people involved in the fire department know that this criminal redneck's partner in crime is no other than Bill Gordy's son. Both got thrown out of PG County. Both with brushes with the law. Both with a history of stealing. Both with a history of getting drunk and embarrassing the city and the fire department. Both getting suspended all the time. When is this madness going to end???? I will tell you when. As soon as that drunken Mayor Barrie Parsons Tilghman is thrown out of office. Then you will see the three idiots leading the fire department gone as well. I would like nothing better to see Barrie Parsons Tilgman walking out of the mayor's office. And I mean walking out with handcuffs behind her back. That would be sweet justice to the citizens of Salisbury and Wicomico County.
ReplyDeletej hitch should be fired! period. He's a blemish to the dept. I wonder how Corey roberts feels about his coworker using the "N" word? Oh by the way give me back my set of irons Hitch you stole from me assh0le. I like to drink beer with him though. We will truly lose a piece of sh!t when he gets fired.
ReplyDeletei also heard an off duty law enforcement officer did the same thing but nothing happened
ReplyDeleteHow does Corey Feel, How Does Lorenzo feel about this? Does this tie into the Hostile Work Place investigation that was going on ?
ReplyDeleteWas his name in the paper this past week for a DUI / DWI
ReplyDeleteI am not going to say that john hitch doesn't have some issues by no means. And what he did i truely wrong if that is the truth but i need to say. You all need to take a good hard look at least he gives a valiant effortr when it comes to calls and trying to save people lives and dosen't stand outside and hope all is well

Thank you for your input Jeremy Gordy. I hope your father doesn't spell as bad as you do. You look really stupid here with this comment.
Joe, you need to put this thread at the top again to keep pressure on the city so they can clean up the tarnished leadership and corruption of the fire department.
ReplyDeleteJoe this has got to be one of the best topics in a while and still it's not getting the attention it severely needs! I'm gonna call Al Sharpton and put a stop to da madness! Dis is nuts. Hitch is a biT$h! I can't believe Frankenstein. I used to look up to him as a role model not no more no siree. I remember when he used to associate those dumba$$ volunteers at station 2 as "THE OUTSIDERS" I really admire him deeply for that though that really took balls and to say that to a captain took the cake! That's KIR.

If this guy is using the N word on employees of a local convenience store and representing the fire department then he needs to be fired. If he uses the N word on a black person that shows that he is racist and full of hatred. This guy needs to be fired and if he isn't then the three so called leaders need to be let go. This scares me that a man full of hatred may walk in my house if I call 911. Please do something about this fire department. I live in the city and I don't deserve to live in fear.
