FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE, FREE,

Ladies & Gentlemen, here's the PERFECT Christmas Present for the entire Family and guess what, IT'S FREE!

The Salisbury Fire Department will GIVE you a FREE Smoke Detector, all you have to do is go by any Fire Department and pick one up. Get this, these guys are so cool about it too, they'll even come to your home and install it, NO CHARGE, if you're not able.

Yes, they'll even throw in a free battery to go with it. Now don't go acting like a bunch of Bogarts and go in there asking for free batteries. Do what is right and visit the SFD and get one TODAY! This is NOT something you should wait on.

All too many times in our lives we think, I'll do that tomorrow. Tomorrow may not come Ladies & Gentlemen, so do this for your children.

The last time the City of Salisbury had a fatality from a fire was all the way back in 1998. The ONLY reason why the Family passed away early this morning was because they did NOT have Smoke Detectors.

Here's something cool to think about too. Have you noticed how Toy Companies and Remote Controls no longer use 9 Volt Batteries? I'm not saying ALL of them have stopped but most have. The reason being is, they don't want families removing the batteries from their Smoke Detectors and using them on toys instead.

The Federal Government should force all companies to stop using 9 Volt Batteries for toys and save lives instead. So please, go to your Local Fire Department and ask for a Smoke Detector. Show these men and women you care about your Family and you want to save lives.

Thank You Salisbury Fire Department!

Salisbury Police Department Heros

Ladies & Gentlemen,

TWO Salisbury Police Officers arrived on the scene first last night, early this morning on Washington Street. The Officers were, Steve Dickerson & John Dimore. These Officers, broke through a window and pulled the woman out of the home as well as the young child.

Although the Fire Marshall didn't want to admit that these Officers were at the scene before the Fire Department, they were and he ultimately agreed that was the case. The Fire started in the Attic, not in the kitchen, as first reported.

Officer Dickerson was also a member of the Salisbury Fire Department and these two Gentlemen should be recognized for their heroic attempt to save lives. Gentlemen, my hat is tipped to you and I thank you very much for your efforts.

Corporal Of Marines Said.......

"I think all this support is awesome. It helps service members remember why it is they are doing what they are doing... Thanks to everyone for your support.

Corporal, USMC"

As I take the liberty of speaking for EVERYONE visiting this Blog, thank you! Without you, we couldn't survive. That goes for ALL of our Armed Forces, men and women.

514 Washington Street

Families continue to visit this property after a devastating fire took the lives of a Family and their Dog.

It's A Sad Day For Salisbury

There was a major fire on Washington Street late last night. Sadly, a 5 year old girl and two adults died in the fire along with the family dog.

Two adult bodies were badly burned while the child was not. It's the most difficult scene a Fire Fighter can be called to, seeing the silhouette of a young child on a bed after the body has been removed.

Smoke inhalation took the lives of all three and from what I understand there were no smoke detectors. The City mainly harps on Rental Units and not homeowners when it comes to smoke detectors.

May they all rest in peace and I'm so sorry these Fire Fighters had to be experience such horrific losses. These are the things we all forget they experience regularly.

Mayor, Bag Lady Or Bum?

Were ANY of you outdoors yesterday? Was it cold, OR WHAT? Looks like the Mayor just can't resist walking down Main Street, (ONCE AGAIN) in the winter wearing completely inappropriate clothing. Does this woman actually think she's got hot legs, or something? All I can say is, KEEP THIS WOMAN INDOORS, WILL YA! Mayor Barrie Tilghman, YOU'VE BEEN BLOGGED.

She's A Leaner

As I continue to keep an eye on some of these local structures, it becomes more evident they're shifting more and more, even to a point one has completely come down and crumbled. I believe it won't be long before the first Barn crashes as there are more signs the building has shifted again since the last time I took a picture. One good snow and that puppy is going down. Let's just hope no people of livestock are inside when it does?

A Hero's Welcome

At 11:45 AM yesterday, Chris Jones arrived back in his Home Town, (Salisbury) for the Holidays. Chris is a Marine getting ready to head off to Iraq after some more intense training. His Mother Jennifer thanked each and every person for taking out time on a busy weekend to welcome home her Son.

As you can see, one Fire Fighter came to welcome Chris home and it wasn't a man at all. It was a wonderful woman. Well, just look around and you'll see the who's who of who was there. I'll add more photos later. A special Thanks goes out to We Care Wicomico County.

Thanks Chris and Welcome Home!
