Are You Ready To Adopt An Adorable Puppy?
A message from a friend.
This little sweet heart was dropped off at my house on Wednesday night, found under a visiting friends jeep 6 Am on Thursday. He was in terrible condition, and I immediately took him to the vets. He is doing great, and is training potty very well, and has a schedule of eat and sleep and poop and play. He had antibiotics and worm medicine, talk about disgusting about a cup full of parasites. He had many bite marks (puncture wounds) around his neck and on his back. The vet said to wait for his shots, which I will do next week.
I cannot keep him and it breaks my heart, he is wonderful. He has blue eyes, and I am a total sucker for blue eyes. Vet said he is just 6 weeks, and needs a mother. So, I have been holding him, and sometimes napping with him, he is doing great. I love him very much, just have circumstances that break my heart, but, hopefully someone who really loves dogs anyway, if you have a way to contact some folks about "Charlie Brown" please let me know. Thanks I know you are the right person to contact.and you can lead me in the right direction.

Salisbury Fire Chief Won't Wake Up
GO HERE Chief See & Eat Your Heart Out!
As more and more proof comes in regularly where sprinkler systems continue to EXTINGUISH fires, Chief See refuses to push the envelope with the City of Salisbury. My guess, the man likes to fight fires too much and couldn't care less about Public Safety.
The rule of thumb in Salisbury is, spend more money on $10,000,000.00 Fire Stations and don't require sprinkler systems in residential homes. If they'll work in a restaurant, they'll work in a home!

Federal Cigar Excise Tax Update
A compromise bill for the State Children Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) funding was finalized late in the evening on Monday, September 24 with mixed news for the premium cigar and pipe industry. The Floor Stocks Tax provision on cigars that was originally in the legislation has been stricken. (at least some good news)
However, the tax rate was reduced by only a fraction, from 53.12% to 52.988%, and the tax cap of $3 per cigar remains.
The compromised bill now goes to both the House of Representatives and the Senate for an up-or-down vote(members of congress must vote either yes or no and no further amendments or changes may be added or made at this time).
Once the bill is most likely approved by both chambers of Congress, the legislation goes to the Whitehouse when President Bush remains adamant he will veto the legislation. Following a presidential veto, Congress will most likely approve an extension of the current of the current SCHIP program that expires September 30, relying on existing government healthcare money to fund the extension - the yet-to-be proposed extension will not rely on any tax increases. This extension will give Congress more time to create a bill that the president may be willing to sign.

"Gilchrest Misleads Voters On Illegal Immigration"
The full color franked mail Gilchrest's congressional office sent out at taxpayer expense is misleading the public on Gilchrest's record on illegal immigration. "The taxpayers are funding Gilchrest's misleading statements concerning his record on illegal immigration," said Chris Meekins, Political Director for the campaign.
The truth is Gilchrest supports AMNESTY for illegal immigrants (co-sponsor of H.R. 371, 2007). "Unlike the incumbent, I will never support any form of amnesty," Harris added.
Gilchrest's real record on illegal immigration:
H.R.1885 5/21/2001 Vote 127: Gilchrest voted to allow illegal immigrants who overstayed their visas to pay a $1,000 fine and stay in the U.S. while they completed their residency application.
H. AMDT 655 7/8/2004 Vote 341: Gilchrest voted against an amendment that would have increased funding for enforcing current federal laws against sanctuary policies for illegal aliens.
H. AMDT 745 9/9/2004 Voted 439: Gilchrest voted against the amendment that would have barred illegal immigrants working in the U.S. from receiving Social Security benefits.
H.AMDT 138 5/17/2005 Vote 177: Gilchrest voted against the amendment that would have denied federal homeland security funding to state and local governments who refuse to share information with federal immigration authorities.
Not only is Gilchrest misleading the public about his record, but he is also using taxpayer dollars to do it. "Apparently Gilchrest has so little respect for taxpayer dollars, that he votes for billions of dollars in wasteful spending and then uses taxpayer dollars to fund campaign activities," Meekins said.
"It is one thing to send a letter to a constituent who asks about a specific issue, it is a completely different thing to mislead them," said Chris Meekins, Political Director for Harris for Congress.
Using taxpayer funded franked mail for his own political benefit is nothing new for the office of Wayne Gilchrest. In the first quarter of 2007, Gilchrest's office was in the top 10% of all members of congress in his abuse of franked mail.

Big Raid In Ocean City
The DEA, I.C.E., and the INS are currently at the Japanese All You Can Eat Sushi Bar Restaurant in West Ocean City. Since I'm not loaded with Employees and don't have instant access to Ocean City, I'll just have to wait for more information.
More to come......
UPDATE: They took 5 people away in hand cuffs, and have 13 more warrants. That's what I've heard so far.
UPDATE #2: They have arrested 4 Hispanic People and 1 Asian Person. It's my understanding they built illegal housing underneath the Restaurant for illegals to live. The people arrested allegedly were in the US illegally.

Mr. Holland Is A Hero
One thing you can't tell me is that there is a more dedicated Citizen than Mr. Holland when it comes to coming to each and every Council Meeting. Mr. Trader is a very close second and the only reason I'd say Mr. Holland is slightly more dedicated is the fact that Mr. Holland is somewhat handicapped in that it is VERY difficult for the man to even walk.
All that being said, Mr. Holland is the individual that just saved ALL of the Taxpayers in the City of Salisbury a small fortune by pushing Mr. Pick into answering the question, did the City pay the $1.00 fee for the City's half of the GOB?
Yesterday was a monumental day as the pressure from Mr. Holland and then the Press calling the County Executives Office, the Finance Office and Mr. Pick's Office to confirm this issue, (since it was aired on PAC 14) in which Mr. Pick stated it had in fact been paid. This lead ALL Citizens into believing the City had in fact moved forward, when it had not.
The Tilghman Administration have been aggressively looking into purchasing their own building to house City Hall, one of them being the Allfirst Bank Building on the Plaza. I have heard through the grapevine that they have also been looking at land throughout the City, especially on the West Side.
Hopefully their quest to do so is over and allow me to explain why. I think everyone is going to very clearly see just how stupid a move it would be to relocate elsewhere.
The entire Budget to run the entire GOB is $285,000.00 per YEAR! Now, break that down to 140 people working in that building and that includes City & County Employees. So divide $285,000.00 by 140 people and you get, $2035.00 per person, per year. Now divide that by 365 days and you get $5.58 per day, per person.
I don't care what anyone tells you, you're NOT going to build a new building and have heat, air conditioning, water & sewer, maid service and general upkeep anywhere else for $5.58 per day, per person!
I would truly enjoy someone who's in the know to calculate what it would cost to buy a chunk of land, build a new building that would house the City Government and then calculate what the overall costs would be these days and see what the City might have stuck the Taxpayers with TODAY! It would be a HUGE chunk of change and I think Mr. Holland is not only an outstanding man, he's the kind of (Dirty Dozen Citizen) man the Tilghman Administration can't stand because he's all about the truth and getting to the bottom of it.
So the next time any of you see Mr. Holland, buy him a cold beer and say thank you. It will be the cheapest beer you ever bought, especially after yesterdays results!
A Sign Of The Times
Even though the Shorebirds can't afford to replace a sign similar to this one, the Wicomico County Tourism Center is sporting a brand new sign that must have cost a small fortune. Let's see, the people have already arrived, (so it's not like it's going to draw people here) and I doubt very seriously it's going to enhance additional visitors? Oh well, it sure does look good and I truly hope it pays for itself through advertising. Perhaps now other BUSINESSES along Rt. 13 can get the same kind of permits to sport their own messages to enhance business, since the visitors have already arrived? My guess is however, I doubt anyone else will be able to achieve the same permit.
Pittsville Has A New Drive Thru
The gentleman living in that apartment had just gotten up out of his chair and headed for the frigs to get a beverage when the driver of this pickup truck rammed through the home directly in the area where he was seated!
I don't know how long these Idiots running this Town are going to continue allowing vehicles to race through that curve but something needs to be done. They can install a traffic light right at Main Street, (which is already a blinking light, like that does anything at all) but they're too hard headed to actually bring themselves into the year 2007!
Not long ago I brought you pictures of a vehicle that completely destroyed the Car Wash owned by the Pittsville Fire Department on this same curve. Paul Wilber is the Town Attorney for Pittsville as well and I strongly suggest they do something. Trust me, between the Town Taxes, Wicomico County taxes and the water bills in that Town, they need to reinvest back into the Town on important issues like this one.
Oh, as for my friend who owns the building, ROTFLMAO!
