Salisbury Dive Team Keepin It Real

While many are indoors keeping warm, the Salisbury Dive Team is out practicing drills in the River by the Picnic Island. Dave Insley and 4 other Divers were testing the water and Dry Suits training two new Divers in 42 degree water!

I showed these photos to my Wife, (a former Dive Team Member) and she couldn't get over how nice the new equipment is and the message these fine gentlemen sent me home with. My experience today with these gentlemen clearly showed there are only a select few Fire Fighters who dislike me and many more who understand and respect where I've been coming from lately.

That being said, thank you gentlemen for doing what you do and showing mutual respect for both my Wife and me. I'm personally pleased to see you have what is necessary to go out there and do what it takes to save lives, recover bodies, find critical evidence for the Police and not just saying, you know what, it's too cold out there today, let's make it another day.

I also learned that there are currently around 20 active members on the Dive Team. There are more, (around 40) but only about 20 of them are Divers. Better you than me guys! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Albero Family.

  3. Joe? What exactly doen Keepin It Real mean? In urbanease, can you tell us uncool folk what it means?

  4. "Keepin It Real" means that these men and women are putting in a good, honest, hard days work. They're honest, fair people who see things and do things on the up and up. They get along with everyone because they're who we ALL want to be.

You could never tell me someone like Barrie Tilghman is Keepin It Real.

    Is that a decent answer?

  5. Yep. I just didn't know what it meant. Sorry for being uncool! I asked, you answered.

Thanks for Keeping It Real Joe! : )

How do you like me now? LOL!

  7. The dive team certainly does have better equipment now adays, and not to knock any prior members, but are trained better and more in detail than before. Might have something to do with people actually stepping up and taking charge of the unit and getting things done! Way to go guys. It's the men and women like you that make the department look good!

Good try chiefy. Your gay ass needs to quit posting on Albero's site when you are on the City's clock.

You know damn well that everyone despises you and you are so miserable to be around. Why don't you just come out of the closet and admit your homosexuality. We know why you go out of town every month to the Fire Chief conference. You do a lot of networking with your BUTT BUDDIES!!!

    ROTFLMAO

If that wasn't a self esteem plug by the fire chief I would love to see how many people really defend the wannabe fire chief.

Oh yeah, don't forget to sign your name, suck up so we can keep a running tally.

  13. Nice shots, and a really nice post. Attaboy/girl to the dive team AND to Joe for a nice piece written on it.

Joe doesn't hate "the department" -- he hates the way it's run.

He doesn't hate "the firefighters" - just those who display bigotry and arrogance (most don't).

Those who understand that, can deal with him reasonably. Those who don't, simply prove the accusations he makes to be justified.

If he thinks you're screwing up, he won't mince his words. If he thinks you did something good, he'll pat you on the back. If you do both, then you'll get slammed when you do the "wrong" thing and get praised when you do the "right" thing (all in his opinion), regardless of whether he likes you personally or not.

And that's all I have to say about that. -- Gump

You all ought to leave my butt buddy alone. He can't help it if I am the real chief and he is just appointed. I know how to spend the money and I am the most powerful person in the SFD.

  16. in order to hate how its run. You first would have to know how to run a fire department..

  17. It does appear they have some good equipment. I must ask why are they not diving full face mask instead of the goggles they are wearing

Yeah I think they stole that squad truck from the volunteers at station 1 and turned it into a dive van. At least it got a lot of use at station 1 when the volunteers used it. Now it only gets used a couple of times a year for dive train. Not to bust the members of the dive team, but the leadership at station 2. It should also be noted that Gordo and See also stole fire apparatus from station 2 because they don't like the volunteers.

  19. Not to bust your chops but Dive unit is used more than " a couple times a year". The divers train several times a month.

Lack of Funding = No full face mask

The divers train several times a month? For what?? Sounds like a waste of good time and money? Nothing like duplicating services. Not to bust your chops either.

  21. Good Point Joe Taxpayer, why train for things like this? That way when something actually happens people like you have a reason to point figures and criticize the "un-prepared" divers. Nothing like wasting "time" and "money" to try to be more efficient at saving someone's life. Dumb Cunt.
