Another SFD Donation Envelope Ends Up In The Trash!

"Joe,

Just received letter from SFD asking for donations. Tore it up.When the 2 chiefs and the Mayor give up control on the donations and return control back to the volunteers then I will donate again. HARDHEAD"

I told you guys, get someone in there to teach about bigotry and discrimination or this will continue until you completely fail. Looks like Barrie is going to have to turn the checkbook back to the Volunteers too! I can't believe they did that to you guys!!!!!!

  1. Hey Joe,

I got a SFD donation request envelope the other day and it ended up in the circular file. I am NOT in Salisburys EMS response area, I am in Hebrons. They can't even get the areas straight. I'm glad I'm in Hebrons area, they come down the street as a group and leave the envelopes. They will even talk to you if you're home and they're nice to the kids. I have nothing against SFD, but come on! Why in the world would you try to solicit donations from a house you're not jurisdictionally able to respond to? These folks that don't know better will donate, think that they are covered for EMS and then when Hebron responds (which they certainly will) you are slapped with a fee because you haven't joined (I still don't get this whole pay in advance EMS thing, but I'm a city girl). Just wanted to give you that tidbit of info. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

  2. I got my SFD Begging letter the other day at the post office and immediately threw it away. I was shocked by the amount of those same letters I saw in the 3 trash bins. They were overflowing and the postal customers looked at me like I was crazy when I laughed out loud. What a joke that fire department is and I hope that everyone continues to throw those requests in the trash. Joe if I knew your number I would have called you to go out there and take a picture of these letters in the trash bins. ROTFLMAO

  3. People please realize, the mayor and the chief are not responsible for these letters. These letters are sent out by the volunteer corporations. Each station has a mailing list and anyone making a donation is helping their FIRST DUE company. That's right, the money goes right to the men and women who personnally protect your families and properties. The mayor and chiefs receive their money from government budget allowances, a.k.a. tax dollars. So just know that withholding a donation is not hurting the administration, it's helping it. The administration wants us volunteers to disappear and if we can't pay for the things we need it's one more reason to make us an all career department. Just wait to see your tax bill if that day ever comes. So from a volunteer with the department please reconsider "trashing" the donation forms, I myself am donating money because I know first hand that the greedy administration I work under can't touch the money we receive in donations.

  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the SFD Volunteers have to RETURN a brand new Pickup Truck because Gordy & See got pissed the Volunteers spent money on something the didn't aprove of?

Now don't get technical on me on that statement. In a round about way, the vehicle was returned because the ADMINISTRATION is in charge of the money, NOT YOU.

I'll await your reply before I go any further because everyone can see where I'm headed here.

  5. When Barrie got in office and caused an uproar over on Brown St is when all this shit hit the fan. She didn't like not having control over everything, she damned near had a stroke when she tried to take the building away from them only to find out it belongs to the Vollies. She did however, take over the checkbook, so any donations going to the Vollies will be under Barrie, See and Gordy's control. Screw them all, they'll rot in hell before I give another dime.

God Bless the Brinsons and the Williams families for having so much to do with the Brown St Station and nothing to do with Barrie and her band of thieves.

That is absolutely correct Joe. Ask the good volunteers at station 2 what happened to that truck. Gordy and See made them send it back to the dealer and they took a big loss on the "trade in." The volunteers have no control over the money anymore whatsoever.

    Read the city code specifically

2.16.040 Volunteer fire companies and volunteer personnel.

    http://www.ci.salisbury.md.us/Portals/0/CityCodes/Title22007.pdf

This new code tailored by Gordy and See and approved by the mare and her flying monkeys stripped all power and authority away from the vollies. Now the vollies are nothing more than puppets that are used to get volunteer funding from the state, county and donations. These morons from Delaware came in and took a great tradition away from the city residents and our mare let them do it. She has ruined this city.

  7. What...is the fire department? A bunch of kids? Sounds like they need some help? Joe, wanna take over? Teach these boys a lesson?

  8. Joe,
The administration made us return that pick-up because it was purchased with out approval of the fire chief and the council. We were not aware that the city's regulations state: capital pieces can not be purchased with out prior approval from the powers to be. The city carries the bill for insurance, repairs and maintenance. So we couldn't had another vehicle to their tab. \

We're not allowed to use the money we receive in donations to purchase vehicles. We have to purchase vehicles with money from the budget we get from the county and state, which comes as a lump and is dispersed equally to the 3 stations. These donations cover the smaller things that help us do our jobs, I.E.: hand tools, some power tools, safety glasses & vests, boots, etc.
And to anonymous at 8:22, we took no loss. The vehicle was purchased through a government discount program and was simply returned with no hassle. So whoever told you that just made you look like an idiot.

  9. And to add anonymous 8:22 we have sole control over our money, we can purchase anything but vehicles. The city can't touch our money, if they need it they come to the floor and ask for it, it's our choice whether or nor they get it. Learn the facts.
