Salisbury PD Press Releases

Davonte Marque Taylor, 20yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for Possession of Marihuana and Contribute to Conditions of a Child. Officers were on foot patrol in the area of the 600 block of Baker Street. Officers observed Taylor sitting on a porch smoking a marihuana cigarette. Taylor then passed the marihuana cigarette to a juvenile. Taylor and the juvenile attempted to conceal the marihuana upon seeing the officers’ approach. Taylor was released to the custody of Central Booking.

Jamar LaPrince Butler, 24yoa, of Cambridge, Md was arrested for Theft over $500, Possession of Cocaine with intent to Distribute, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of a Firearm. James Lee Johnson, 25yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for Theft over $500. An officer was on patrol in the area of West Main Street and observed a vehicle matching a description of a previously reported stolen vehicle. The vehicle was confirmed as being stolen. An attempt to stop the vehicle was made but the vehicle fled from the officer. The vehicle came to a stop on West Road near Rose Street and all the occupants fled from the vehicle. The officer was able to apprehend Butler and Johnson. Further investigation found a loaded shotgun in the vehicle and a quantity of suspected cocaine on Butler to indicate distribution. Butler and Johnson were released to the custody of Central Booking.

Juvenile, 15yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for 3 counts of Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute, 3 counts of Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marihuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, 2 counts of Trespassing, and Littering. Officers were on patrol in the area of Anne Street and observed a juvenile who was wanted in connection with two previous Distribution of Cocaine investigations. Upon seeing the officers the juvenile fled on foot and was stopped in the 600 block of Baker Street. The juvenile was detained and search of the area and the juvenile found a quantity of suspected marihuana and a quantity of suspected cocaine in an amount to indicate distribution. The juvenile was released to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Services.

Jeffrey David Emm, 43yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for 2 counts of Handgun in a Vehicle, 2 counts of Illegal Possession of a Regulated Firearm, 2 counts of a Straw Purchase, 2 counts of Unlawful Purchase of a Firearm and Multiple Purchase of Firearms within 30 days. Officer was on patrol in the area of Route 50 and Civic Avenue and observed a vehicle operated by Emm to commit several traffic violations. After the traffic stop was completed, Emm consented to a search of his vehicle. The search yielded two handguns that Emm was in illegal possession of. Emm was released to the custody of Central Booking.

Garrett Richard Weiss, 28yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for 3 counts of 1st degree Assault, 1st degree Burglary, 2 counts of Use of a Handgun during commission of a Felony, 2 counts of 2nd degree Assault, 3 counts of Reckless Endangerment, 2 counts of Handgun on Person, Armed Robbery, 2 counts of Robbery, 2 counts of Theft Less than $500, Possession of Prescription Medications, 2 counts of Illegal Possession of Regulated Firearm, and 2 counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Officers responded to the 700 block of South Division Street for a reported disturbance. On arrival officers met with victims who said that Weiss had pointed a handgun at them and threatened to shoot them. Weiss is also accused of stealing an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency and prescription medication. Weiss was released to the custody of Central Booking.

Tracy Irving Williams, 35yoa, of Salisbury was arrested for Armed Robbery, 1st Degree Assault, 2nd degree Assault, 2 counts of Use of Handgun during commission of a Felony, 2 counts of Theft over $500, Reckless Endangerment, 9 counts of Malicious Destruction of Property over $500, Malicious Destruction of Property less than $500, 2 counts of Theft less than $100, Theft less than $500,Theft Scheme over $500, Theft Scheme less than $500, and Malicious Destruction of Property Scheme over $500. From October 6 2007 through October 23, 2007, Williams is alleged to have committed an armed robbery of the Super Soda Center on Ocean Gateway in which Williams displayed a handgun at the store clerk and took an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency; attempted to break into an automatic teller machine causing damage in excess of $500. Williams also is alleged to have broken into eight coin-operated machines at various locations throughout the city and taken an undetermined amount of U.S. Currency and causing damages in excess of $500. Williams was released to the custody of Central Booking.
