Melanie Pepper Receives 2008 Jefferson Award
On Thanksgiving morning Melanie Pepper got a big surprise when WBOC TV greeted her at her parent's home in Salisbury.
Melanie and WBOC TV Anchor Jimmy Hoppa
Nominated by her sister Sheila, Melanie was recognized as a 2008 recipient of the prestigious Jefferson award by the American Institute for Public Service for her contributions to the community.
As one of 16 recipients on Delmarva, Melanie will be honored at a Gala banquet in April and is now in consideration to represent the region in Washington DC next summer.
Congratulations Melanie!
The Jefferson Award was first created in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to create a Nobel Prize for public and community service. To learn more about the Jefferson Awards visit their website HERE.
