Mr. Frampton Said........
"I will admit that I was not a big fan of this 'superhouse' when the idea first came out. But the more I visit and walk through the halls the more I begin to realize that a station like this is long overdue. The recent alterations at Sta. 1 are nice and serve the crews there well.
Salisbury is a busy fire/ems department when looked at by call volume vs. manpower. It will be nice to work in a modern facility with several nice amenities. Things such as the fitness room will do nothing but enhance the health of our most valuable assets, our members. The Heritage room will serve the community, not just local, but tourists as well. Surprisingly the SFD is filled with rich history and tradition and gets many visitors from all over the world on an almost daily basis. It continually amazes me everyday at the visitors to the current Sta. 16 and where they are from.
I encourage all people to come vist the station when it is completed and take a look at what they have paid for, I now believe that it will be well worth their money.
Rob Frampton BS, FF/NREMT-P"
While I respect what Mr. Frampton is trying to say here, my thoughts go out to so many Soldiers serving our Country in a time of War risking and even losing their lives every day. Salisbury is NOT Ground Zero in NYC and quite frankly I'm sick and tired of the local Fire Departments talking as if they are taking those same risks.
For those Paid Professionals, you're paid to do a job and knew the risks going in. Our Soldiers take a far greater gamble, yet don't have the medical attention they deserve after they have been injured and or the proper equipment to better serve our Country.
So while the SFD is PROUD of their new $10,000,000.00 TOY, I feel for our Soldiers much deeper than the SFD. I look at the photos on the Internet every so often of our guys sleeping in tents while the SFD brags about the Heritage Room, Safe Rooms, new Kitchen and brand new Equipment. Oh, let's not forget the Fitness Room!
Perhaps so many locally have forgotten where they came from and need to do a tour in Iraq where they can come home and accept the Old Station 16 while realize just how GOOD they have it. Instead, our local guys enjoy tours of their new Station 16? A renovation of Old Station 16 should have been good enough but instead they have received one of the finest Stations in the entire United States. God Bless America, or better said, God Blessed Salisbury instead.
So while you're inviting people to take tours in the new Station, I welcome you to take a tour in Iraq instead.

ReplyDeleteI think your comparison of the the two in the way it was stated was very much in poor taste, not only to our troops which need to be home now but to our local men in another uniform. They serve the community well, and i was proud to be part of their history. I thin you owe both an apoligy
Steve Fowler Ret Assistant Chief SFD
It's your blog and you can certainly do whatever you want, but I gotta say your continued unsubstantiated slamming of firefighters is getting really old. Oh, and if I learned anything from my years of posting on the Watchdesk, it's that most people posting as Salisbury firefighters are not. I wish you wouldn't malign the many, many fine people at SFD in your vendetta against the city. I'm sure it builds your hit count on a slow day, but is it really worth it? BTW, I'm a firefighter and I have my Combat Action Ribbon as a Marine, too. And so do many in the SFD. How about you? Have you forgotten Mike McMullen? I don't want to get into some stupid pissing contest with you, but I gotta tell ya you have once again gone way over the line.
ReplyDeleteI don't think any of the firefighters or their families could or would ever forget the sacrifices made by the soldiers all over the world each and everyday. Prior to 9/11, the firefighters of New York were similar I'm sure to the firefighters in Salisbury. Americans in general were different on September 10, 2001. Our world changed drastically the very next day in just a matter of moments.
ReplyDeletePlease don't equate the building of this firehouse to a lack of respect and understanding on the part of firefighters for their fellow Americans around the world.
Joe,
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect. Nowhere in my post did I say one word about comparing a tour in Iraq versus a 24 hour tour at a firehouse. You are comparing apples to oranges. Yes I knew the risks when I took the job. I don't deny that nor do I want any bonus for it. That also doesn't mean that I must suffer or work in adeqaute conditions or an inadeqaute building. I personally love Sta. 16. Ask Bryan Records are any other Asst. Chief that I have worked under. They will quickly tell you that I prefer to work at Sta. 16 over the other 2 stations. I enjoy the history and the old building and Yes I will surely miss it. More than most!
I have many friends who have been to Iraq. But just like me they too chose that profession. There hasn't been a draft recently, so they to knew what they were getting into. If I had all of the money (or power) in the world like you do (lol) I would do everything in my power to make their conditions better for them. But I don't and I can't. I enter a different warzone than them everyday I come to work. Again on a much different scale and I would never compare my job to theirs like you have tried to do.
I challenge you to come ride the ambulance with me for a full 24 hour shift one day. Bring your camera , do a story, give the FD some good press. I am sure it would open your eyes and give you a taste of what we have to deal with everyday. If your interested contact me at the email below.

I'm not saying you don't do your job and or do it well. I'm also glad you understand the risks you take every day when you go to work.
ReplyDeleteWhat I'm trying to say here is, as you all ask me to lay off the Fire Department, you too need to lay off the bragging rights with a very controversial Fire Department.
You guys back down, I'll back down. Till then, this is not apples and oranges. This is as close as it gets to home. I respect the fact that you want to defend yourselves but the reality is, I don't like your $10,000,000.00 Fire Station, now will I ever like it.
$10,000,000.00 in Downtown Manhattan, MAYBE? $10 Mil in Salisbury, NOT! The SFD has gone way over the top and way too far this time and now See & Gordy have the ba((s to push forward for a $800,000.00 Boat? Give it a rest and go help LC!
That is totally wrong. By you using the photo of a young boy who obviously is in a great deal of pain, and comparing it to the SFD building is without conscience.
ReplyDeleteAnything to stay off topic. That's the SFD way.
ReplyDelete"I respect the fact that you want to defend yourselves but the reality is, I don't like your $10,000,000.00 Fire Station, now will I ever like it."
ReplyDeleteWell since you dont like it we should tear it down only to make the mighty joe albero happy. Get a grip man.
Maybe your neighbors dont like your barn or horses.Do they get on here and bash you for it.I think not. Grow up!
Joe,
ReplyDeleteWe all will see you at the open house at the new fire station. But you will be scared to talk to anyone!
You have gone way over board on this post. Again you have taken what someone signed their name to and turned it into your favor.
This goes to show you will do what ever it takes to take down anyone who works under the Mayor.
You will use anyone as a pawn. You would sell your own mother if she worked for the City of Salisbury.
Plus if you hate the city so much.. sell your damn land and get out of Salisbury and make us all ahppy. You make it so no one wants to live here. You are part of the problem just like others in this fine city!
ps: you know what to post to get hits dont you?
"Again you have taken what someone signed their name to and turned it into your favor."
ReplyDeleteAt least you'll admit that I'm right with my story.
I didnt say you were right at all. You were so wrong in your post!
ReplyDeleteYOUR GOING TO BURN IN HELL FOR YOUR ACTIONS!
OMG, here come the Idiots again.
ReplyDeleteThank God I'm not Black, eh Folks? Could you just imagine what messages SOME of these Fire Fighters might say if this were owned by a Black Blogger?
At least I'll just burn in Hell. I'd rather burn in Hell than live my life being called a "N"er.
Enjoy your new Fire Station guys & gals.
I'll add, do YOU actually think I'm afraid to go to MY Fire Station? I may live in Delaware but trust me young man, I pay incredible taxes in the City of Salisbury and I am a partner in that stupid freakin building.
ReplyDeleteI would NEVER be afraid to be there during the Grand Opening and I'm NOT afraid to speak to any one of you. I have MY opinion and I allow you to share yours.
Just because we disagree doesn't mean I hate you. The only ones I hate there are the ones calling LC a "N"er. DO YOU HEAR ME CHIEF?????
Joe,
ReplyDeleteI posted that last comment. Just to let you know.. Im not a member of the Salisbury Fire Department in any way. Do I have friends there, yes I do! Do you?
Here is something you just said!

Anything to stay off topic. That's the SFD way.
....
I didn't see anywhere in your post of this topic about being black! Why you trying to change the subject. Maybe its you that is trying to change the topic in your favor again...
Thanks that make you go Dee..Dee..Dee...
i guarantee that you have never physically been standing there and heard anyone call LC a nigger. and you by far are the biggest (with the old definition) nigger i have ever seen or met.
ReplyDeleteI AGREE 100%
ReplyDeleteAgain... im not part of the SFD in anyway!
You dont have to be a member of the SFD to see you are way over the top here.......
Joe I would welcome you to tour the new firehouse. I will give you a tour myself when it is opened. It is OUR firehouse and we all should be proud. I would hope that you are there for the grand opening and open house as your site serves as a great media tool to reach many people. So, although I am simply a peon in this organization (lol) I invite you to attend and ask for me and I will give you a grand tour.
ReplyDeleteRob Frampton
Guys...
ReplyDeleteJoe is sitting back just laughing at the everyone while watching his hits go up.
We know the truth and the facts. Let Joe say what ever he wants and look like an ass himself.
Let him waste his day away by himself!
Rob,
ReplyDeleteI wish I could say I look forward to the Grand Opening. However, I cannot. This scam was the biggest crock of sh*t the Fire Department has ever dumped on the Eastern Shore, let alone the entire East Coast.
I can see something like this in areas like NYC, Washington, Baltimore and so forth but to OUT DO each and everyone out there acting as if Salisbury deserves it makes me sick!
You know as well as I, this was so far over the top it isn't funny. It screams in investigation, especially on the funding/expenses to build such a palace.
Yeah, I'll be there but I'm NOT going to be happy or excited.
I will say, I enjoy your enthusiasm, you're good for the Department. Sadly no one else has the ba99s to say their peace about it without feeling like they too will sit in a car on fire while the SFD stands there watching, thinking it's Joe Albero inside.
we can only hope
ReplyDeleteThere should never be a comparison between the new firehouse and Iraq. Those men get up and realize there is better than 50% chance they will be injured or killed. The police and firemen know that SOMEDAY they may get injured or killed. They are both fighting a war.One is for freedom and the other is for public safety. Both have risk, but at least we know who and what the enemy is in America. These men and women deserve a better firehouse. The current station is busting at the seams for space. It has served the city well and its time to move on. If the city is looking for a new City Hall, then look no further. This would fit the bill. Support our troops. Semper Fi.
ReplyDeleteJust curious, but exactly why does Joe have a problem with the new firehouse. Whats wrong with a new building, with the growth in the city I think it is a very good idea. It is also in a more central area for the dept to get to the other side of town faster and hopefully safer because there is not much room over there by the library.
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to answer one part of this question/statement.
ReplyDelete"because there is not much room over there by the library."
Perhaps you don't realize that the SFD owns the property beside them, all the way over to the river and that includes the street they closed off.
To say there wasn't enough room to grow is an utter lie. They had plenty of room, they just didn't want the public to know about it. The could have enlarged that building 4 times the size it is now.
oh yeah that right they own the land which has the river on one side, a building behind it and the side of the bridge to the front. Get a grip man. How are you going to get a firetruck out if they expanded the building. I am not involved in a fire department , but even i have enough common sense to know that.
ReplyDeleteWhen Higgins was the chief of the fire department the volunteers at station 16 offered to build an addition onto the fire house that would have helped with the needs of a growing station. The "historical" committee of the city or downtown area put a stop to it. They wouldnt allow for an addition for it would take away from a "historical" building. This was days gone by before your time so you may not realize this.
ReplyDeletehusky
joe:
ReplyDeleteI swore I was done w/ you and your rantings as attempting to communicate w/ you only raised my blood pressure and made me more frustrated than I feel I've ever been. However, I heard about this post and was compelled to read it as our military and the Iraqi war are very dear to my heart. They are obviously not in yours. Wait. You dont have a heart, so you can make disrespectful comments at any time you feel the need.
Your comments here are rediculous and sickening. You compare the SFD to the U.S. Military and make the SFD to look like it's some kind of "monster" because we're getting ready to have it so "good" as compared to our soldiers. Well, you're right. We will have it better than our soldiers and that is BECAUSE of our soldiers. Each of them sacrifice more in a day than most of us will in a lifetime and it is because of them that we, as a country, live free and enjoy the "amenities" that we have. It is because of their willingness to sacrifice that America is by far, the best place in the world to live, proven by the amount of people that migrate to our country every day. It is because of them that you have the ability to form your own website and "bash dujor". This week the mayor, next week the SPD Chief, SFD next...whomever you wish. And, as I've stated repeatedly, I would defend that right of yours to my own death, agree or not.
This however, is FAR TOO MUCH. How quickly you forget the sacrifice that Michael McMullen made; his biological family made; and his SFD family made...and the latter two continue to make on a daily basis due to his absence.
Mike was one of the best friends I ever had. He was kind, caring, considerate, pleasant, ever-smiling, intelligent but "dumb" (like many of us), funny, and a thousand other positive adjectives you could construe upon him. He NEVER shirked his duty and he knew, as does every soldier who ever takes the oath, what the risks were when he signed up. Unfortunately for not only Mike, but for the rest of us who knew him, Mike paid the ultimate fee for the freedom you enjoy. YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT TO COMMENT ON HOW "GOOD" THE SFD HAS IT COMPARED TO OUR SOLDIERS. WE KNOW THE SACRIFICES MADE AND HAVE LIVED AND CONTINUE TO LIVE IT EACH DAY. Mike was more than a soldier and a FFEMTP. Mike was family; even more than that to some of us.
The men/women of the SFD do "go to war" each day. They do "fight" each day, as do hundreds of other FF's throughout the county and thousands throughout the country. Some get paid, some dont. Matters not. Our soldiers protect your freedom, we protect your safety. It's a different battle, but a battle none the less. A battle that may not be as "dangerous" on a minute by minute basis, but one that is very dangerous when the bells sound. If you personally have never served as either, you wouldnt know. However, because of both, you have both the freedom and the safety of being able to spout trash out of your mouth on a minute by minute basis. Youre welcome on behalf of those protecting you and your family by the way.
I hope you DONT come to our open house as that is supposed to be something for not just the SFD to be proud of, but the people served by it as well, one of which is you. YOU should support those that protect you & your property. These are folks that know the risks, certainly dont do it for the $$ (you try and support your family on 32K in today's economy), take bashings from bastards like you, get spat upon, attacked occasionally, and STILL answer the call to duty knowing that there is a 1 in 6 chance that they will be injured or killed during their career. (Those are facts from the US Fire Service & NFPA by the way, not some # I arbitrarily derived.) And if you cant be proud of us and support us, then dont simply come to take pics in order to satsify your "Poparazzi-type" needs and bash us later. You have every right to be there. It would simply be nice for once for you to cover a story rather than "beat us up".
I recently "backed" you w/ regards to derogatory remarks made towards your family. I did it because of who I am and how I was raised. Those remarks were and always will be wrong; yet I stood beside you in defending "your" family. It was no time at all before you were back to bashing "my" family. While I will never agree w/ anyone attacking yours, if you took a hard look at how you treat others, it isnt any wonder that it happens. Hurts, doesnt it? I know it does when you attack "mine".
Enjoy your freedom of speech and the fact that you can rest easy each nite knowing you and yours are protected. And when you do, think of a soldier, a police officer, a teacher, a paramedic, and a FFer. We dont want you "thanks". We just want some respect.
I realize that all I've done here is waste keystrokes. So be it.
James Gladwell
Asst. Chief
SFD 1st Platoon
Hope this is "man enough" for you.
I'm not going to get all long winded here but, WAH, WAH, WAH!
ReplyDeleteYes, we ALL know people who have served and died for our Country. Yes, I know Mike was a close friend of yours, I'm sorry for your loss.
Nevertheless, I also lost a Cousin the World Trade Center. Shit happens and when your time is up, it's up.
Getting back to the point of the Post. Perhaps you'd like to reach in YOUR pocket and purchase a bullet proof vest for a Soldier in Iraq. Oh, that's right, the only money you know how to raise is out of Taxpayers Pockets already fronting the same money you need for equipment, buildings and so forth. That's right, you don't go outside the Salisbury area to raise funds. You raise it locally and if you were to ask the Public what they thought about a $10,000,000.00 Fire Station they'd overwhelmingly tell you to shove it up your ass. Then you'd throw Mike's picture on the brochure, Lost in Iraq, in the hopes it would help your desperate cause.
I happen to think anything over $1,000,000.00 in the City of Salisbury should go to a VOTE! Not a Council vote, a Citizen Vote!
Screw you're new Fire Station, it's a joke. Again, I'm sorry for your loss.
You are without a doubt the most disrespectful, arrogant, ignorant individual I have ever had the displeasure of knowing.
ReplyDeleteYou will one day cross a line that you wont be able to step back over. When you finally get to Hell, I'll be there waiting for your sorry tail as I alrady know that's where I'm headed.
You are no "consumer watch dog"...you know nothing of nothing and wouldnt make a pimple on a real human beings behind.
How dare you make a statement that we'd utilize Mike's name in order to further some financial need or anything else. We do, in fact, utilize Mike's name for the good of the community w/ regards to a WorWic scholarship in his name for prospective EMTP's. Imagine that...SFD FFers doing something good for their community...WOW...what a concept.
Your arrogant and indignant B.S. attitudes and statements such as your last post only prove to the entire viewing area that you are NOTHING...you are an uncaring, selfish, pompous, arrogant, self-serving, low-life w/ no feeling for anyone other than himself. Your statement truly shows your "self worth" and your indifference toward all that allow you the freedom to rant as you do. I'd be willing to bet you'd not make those statements to Mikes Mom or Dad...or to my face...I imagine it would become an unpleasant, yet memorable, experience for you.
I reach in my pockets to purchase items for the government each and every paycheck. I want our boys and girls to have the BEST equipment available. I want them to come home safely. I am of the opinion that we (the U.S) will NEVER change that particular region of the world. Anyone knowing anything regarding history knows that that area has been at war for over 4000 years. Our presence is not going to change that and we are losing soldiers everyday for a pipe dream. Do I support them? You bet your life I do. Do I like the war? No. Do I feel it's going to change anything? Yep...only the names of the people creating the crap in the first place...the end results are going to remain unchanged for the next 4000 years...an opinion simply stated. Dont you even dare attempt to imply I dont support my military brethren both morally and financially.
Responding to another part of your ignorant post:
ALL fire departments get funding from all over the state as well FYI. There are numerous accounts that $$ is derived from and it is from both Federal and State funds as well as the local municipalities that fire departments derive funding. I have no issue w/ your comment re: citizen's right to referendum voting on high ticket items. None what so ever. However, it is jerks like you that would be the first to gripe if your property burned to the ground if the local fire department having jurisdiction didnt have the resources it needed to mitigate your incident. Then, it would be convenient for you to use that against us as well. Like I said..."bash dujor" for the likes of you.
I am sure that given the opportunity, the citizens would take care of its protectors provided they were also given the opportunity to hear the same presentations the City Council hears. The citizens are educated and not naive. They put council members in office and have, by the grace of living in America, the opportunity to remove and replace said council members. Those members are there to represent the constituents they serve. If they do not or dont do it well, politics will take care of politics and the citizenry will remove as necessary. If you personally hate it so much, then get off your own ass and either remove the problem from yourself by moving to Salisbury and running for office in order to "make a difference", or remove yourself from the problem by selling whatever property you have here and staying away from the area. It's a simple choice. And...if the citizens were to vote against whatever the referendum were...then that's what America's all about and our political system would have worked as it should. Score one for the good guys either way!!
You are right about one thing..."When your times up, it's up. Shit happens". That is so very true. 17 years of watching people's time "being up" has forced me to concur w/ your so eloquently stated factoid. The difference between the two of us is that I've had the honor of standing and fighting along side of persons such as the Mike McMullens, Bryan Records', Rob Framptons, Lorenzo Croppers, Jay Jesters, Chris O'Barskys and countless others of the world whom you couldnt hold a candle to either as a warrior or a human being. And while I have also had that same honor w/ people that are not members of the SFD...each of the afore mentioned just happen to be SFD members. WOW...imagine that.
You need to file for moral bankruptsy.
You and I are polar opposites. You have opinons based upon opinions. You offer little w/ regards to fact and when presented w/ such, you opt out and state that we are liars when, in fact, we offer facts you dont want to hear. Youve never served your country in any form and you know nothing of the fire service you are forever attacking. You are disrespectful and demeaning in every sence of both the words and have no compassion for anyone outside of your immediate family. You use people to get what you want and then attack them once you have what you feel you needed from them. Karen was right in her "warning" to O'Barsky and one that needs to be made to Rob as well. You feel you are a force to be dealt w/...youre right about that...but not in the way you think.
The one thing that we do have in common is the fact that, if there is some form of afterlife, both of us are going to end up south of the equator. And, while I'm in no particular hurry to get there...I look forward to your arrival along side of me as we will certainly have some fun of epic proportions...
Good luck to you and your family. My condolences for your loss at the WTC. I hope our paths never cross.
Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah!
ReplyDeleteBite Me!
You sure do love to hear yourself speak, (so to speak).
You better believe I'll be at the Grand Opening and I'd like to see any one of you SOB's try and stop me from being there.
Like I said, that Fire Station is just as much mine as it is any of yours. As a matter of fact, it's probably more mine than yours because MOST of you don't even live or pay taxes in the City.
I'll stop there because I wouldn't want to go on and on and on and on and on, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah!
Thanks for respecting me and calling me buddy, buddy. ROTFLMAO!
ReplyDeleteGod your a piece of shit. Stay out of the fire departments Joe. I dont think you realize the stuff your getting yourself into.
ReplyDelete"I done think you realize the stuff your getting yourself into."
ReplyDeleteDo ANY of you realize just when you should worry about someone?
The day someone comes on here and uses their REAL name, that will be the day I take them seriously and start to worry.
Till then, Mr. Pussy, you are a NOBODY! You are a pussy with threats, probably more scared of your own shadow than anything else.
So go to an Anti Albero Blog and join the rest of the nut jobs out there threatening and trying to scare a ghost. You are a ghost, aren't you Mr. Pussy?
Dear Mr. Pussy,
ReplyDeleteNo more threats and no more comments will go up here on your behalf until you use your name.
Now go have another beer and tell him you love him.
