There's Good News For Delmarva Paintball & Their Customers
After reading the classified section of yesterdays Daily Times, "anyone" would "think" that it was all over for Delmarva Paintball. However, I had a hunch something just wasn't right, so I took a ride up there to see for myself, (because I couldn't believe it) low and behold, their doors were open!
It turns out, (rather than getting into a full blown out version) they have fallen behind in their rent as the other tenant with the Dive Equipment, Jack Pusey walked out of the deal there and Delmarva Paintball was stuck paying their rent on top of everything else.
A settlement agreement was made whereas the owners of the property will seize 8 year old rental paintball guns, (not worth a damn) a 3 phase compressor, (which can't be relocated anyway) and a lawn mower, (who cares). This will provide what past rent was due but you ALL know what's happened here. Sherwood and or Pohanka want to pay dearly for this building. The owner of the building died, the children, (3 of them) are fighting over renting it or selling it and Delmarva Paintball is being asked to leave. I'd like to add, you can't blame the property owners.
However, as the photos above clearly show, Delmarva Paintball is relocating to their OUTDOOR facility not 50 yards from the current building and they are NOT shutting down. This is exciting news Folks because although Paintball is VERY expensive, the kids around here really love the sport and need something like this to keep them busy.
All too many parents use computers and television to babysit their children any more and while there are very few sports left out there in which our children actually get exercise, it's important we support it. I recall my own father, (who adopted a 12 & 14 year old) saying when he moved to Salisbury, there are no kids playing in the neighborhood. They're all inside playing on their computers or watching TV.
Best of luck Delmarva Paintball. I hope everything works out for the best.
You can blame the Daily Times on the "bad news" portion of it since they're the ones that printed it in the paper.
ReplyDeleteMight I add, "I" also came back with details as to why the original article was misleading, unlike how the Daily Times rarely says they were wrong, yet no details.
