To have the graffiti "displayed to bring attention" is exactly why the tagger did the graffiti in the first place. To photograph and display it on the internet only gives the graffiti artist an even larger in fact global audience.
To have the artwork "not shown" is one thing because it does not aid the graffiti artists purpose.
But to NOT have the issue of graffiti "exposed EVEN IN WRITING to the public?" — That seems a bit extreme and unfair to the public.
Neither option would be good. But hey maybe that's just my opinion. But of course this sites viewers already know that.
The City is demanding the owners of the buildings clean up the graffiti and we have told the City to shove it. If the City wants to act responsible and clean it up, let them do it. If they'd like to do so within 24 hours, so be it. Let them do so at their expense as they are paid to protect us in the first place.
I'm not saying to "showcase" the graffiti but let's go for the shock value here. This is as much of an "in your face" kind of crime there can be and if the citizens of Salisbury and city administration don't take STRONG action then I agree to not showing it again.
nodumbbunny, I'm sorry, I think you have missed it's point. Although I would very much like to, I can no longer discuss that topic on this particular site.
I simply feel I get too wordy on details and begin feeling uncomfortable taking up so much real estate on your blog. After all it is YOUR blog not mine. :-D
I find it quite difficult to respond to nodumbbunny about "the idea" without referring to it. Since it is posted "elsewhere" it is better that I do not.
I'm certain that you can appreciate that I can't simply post "the idea" here, because IT NEEDS the CORRESPONDENCE and INPUT like that of nodumbbunny from others people as well. If it is taken seriously, it would be too complex for this site.
"The idea" is no longer relevant to your posts anyway. Your posts are about the graffiti problem, "The idea" is about developing an active solution to stop it BEFORE it gets on the wall and how to get the perpetrators to clean it only hours AFTER it does.
Anyone can view and give their NEEDED input to "the idea"— but since it would be unfair for "the idea" to "ride off of your blog", I will not speak of it on this site and will leave you with the option of informing your readers on how to reach the site to which "the idea" is posted so that they can provide NEEDED input of their own.
I strongly disagree with both options.

Why not simply write about it and not display? That's been my point all along.
