The Downtown Plaza At Night

I almost didn't put this up because it was blurry but you know what, not bad for driving past and snapping off a quick one at night.

The Downtown Plaza looks beautiful at night and this was the first time I had ever seen it light up. Let's hope they do more because even I would come visit for a stroll in the evening. How about you?

  1. That's the safest time! No Lawyers or real estate people to solicite your business....ohhh ya the crack heads are there to solicite your wallet!
Is there a police presence on the plaza at nite?

  3. You know,
If they extended the Park down the river and gussied it all up some, tore out a few parking lots and planted grass and trees imagine what might happen to the whole downtown area. A library, plaza with quaint shops, Market Street inn, Brew River, boardwalk, clean water front, a place for patients to walk when recovering, a place for patients family to walk while waiting, maybe move the Ward Musium and....
Ohhh hell Rat wake up again you dummy! Sorry I just keep having this dream.

  4. A vote for Charles Jannace could deliver those kind of dreams. It's time we start looking at what's best for us, the tax payers and not the developers! If you'd rather see a River Walk similar to San Antonio, Texas, so be it. If you'd rather see a Zoo in a Flood Plane Zone and spend $30,000,000.00 fixing it up and be that stupid, so be it. Notice how The Daily Times doesn't do a Poll about what the Citizens think about all that money being spent on the Zoo or should it be relocated! Everyone knows the answer, they're crazy for even thinking about it!

  5. Ohh ya, tear down the litter box building and plant grass and trees, Maybe give the Cities horses to someone who want to start a business giving carraige rides through the new remodeled expanded park, A snowy evening at Christmas riding around town or to see the fall trees show their beauty, the sun shining through the trees....
dang, guess this one's going to stick in my head all day like the last song you here before going into work!

This stuff is real downtown re-vitalization, not opening up the street to motor traffic.

  6. RiverRat, keep dreamin' those dreams and sharin' 'em. I smell change a-comin'. And I'm always fascinated by what folks come up with as their ideas fer this place.

Let us citizens be the dang visioning committee. Then we can say t'the business and research types, "Make it so, Number One." Just like on that Star Trek show.

  7. The plaza used to be beautifully lit during the holidays in the 70's.
