Yesterday I drove to Georgetown, DE. and I couldn't believe my eyes. Usually Delaware has much higher gas prices but as I saw the gas price in the North part of Salisbury at $2.31 per gallon, gas was down to $2.09 a gallon in Laurel, DE. right on Rt 13!
$ .22 cents per gallon, 7 miles apart is a serious problem. Next we'll hear from the Mayor telling us Salisbury has a special blend of gasoline that is better for the environment like we've heard her state before. Dee, Dee, Deeeee!
That would make the most sense, but fortunately I was traveling up to Delaware yesterday and took advantage of the savings.
ReplyDeleteIs that not a good argument for fewer regulations?
No, I seem to recall gas prices were lower this time last year too and that wasn't an election year. Summer driving season is over and the lower demand depresses prices.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with your election comment, the spacing of them is just fine. Remember too that as the Founding Fathers envisioned the Senate, it was selected by state legislatures, not by direct vote (this was changed by the Seventeeth Amendment.) By the way, in 2008 we in Maryland will only have our respective Congressional races and the Presidential election to deal with, 2008 will be the year of the six year cycle that neither of Maryland's U.S. Senators will be up for reelection.
