Wicomico River Christmas Boat Parade

Talk about a treat! There were people lined up along the river banks from the Yacht Club in Allen, all the way to Brew River! Between the Winter Wonderland of Lights and this event, citizens were treated to a wonderful evening of events last night. If you happened to miss it, I hope these pictures can make up for it.

With pictures like these there's no reason to even leave the house. Don't forget to click on the link in the previous post and watch the lighting ceremony.

A Beautiful Fountain In Salisbury

This was really cool!

Flooding Is Even Fun For Adults!

Flooding Can Be Fun For Some!

Although the rainfall was severe these past few days, our Grandson made the best of it before we pumped the additional water out of the pond.

Here's One Deer/Fawn You're NOT Going To Get!

This albino fawn is safe, warm and out of harms way this season. Sorry Jimbo, you can't have it either.

Black Friday Was Out Of Control!

If you weren't out in the crowds at 4:00 a.m. Friday morning you were one of the smart ones. Best Buy had a line like there's no tomorrow and as you can see, people were camping out and leaving trash everywhere from these long lines that seemed to go on forever.

The Bowie Best Buy had to bring in the Police for crowd control. There were literally thousands of people in line and people standing in the parking lot just outside the front door just waiting for the doors to open where they planned on breaking the line and pushing their way into the Store. If the Police hadn't shown up there would have been a riot, no doubt about it.

Me personally, I'd rather pay the higher price and shop when things are more normal. However, IMO, these retail stores need to cut the crap and makes these sales last throughout the week so they don't have these ridiculous crowds. I do not believe it is legal to camp outside a store?

The Daily Times Plays Fair

Today the Daily Times wrote a fair and just article on my case.

Good Friday Evening From Delmar

Pittsville's Station 7 Restaurant Is Only Days Away From Opening

Talk about an incredible transformation! Todd & Carol Wampler have outdone themselves! This place is truly nicer than any Outback you'll go to visit and they have huge corporate funds backing them. I am told they are only days away from swinging their doors and I couldn't be more excited for them. They hope to be open the first week of December.

Time Is Running Out!

I took this photo yesterday, just in case someone wants to state this is an old photo.

There are still signs everywhere and I've been keeping tabs on them to see who's in violation after the deadline.

The Beginning Of The End!

I tried to warn ALL of you that someone was going to create a new Mall and complete shopping center just up the road in Delaware where everyone can do "tax free shopping."

There is such a proposal going on right now in Laurel, DE. where they're talking about a Mall that would provide an indoor roller coaster, that's how big it's going to be.

Prepare yourselves Folks, this is going to BANKRUPT the City of Salisbury and I'm not at all playing games when I make that statement. Just think to yourself, if you only had to drive an additional 7 miles to go shopping and it was tax free, would you? Of course you would. That means all the TIFF's and do forth given out to the Developers here will be for nothing! It also means whatever business that are leasing in the current Mall in Salisbury will race to sign leases ahead of time for the new project because it makes sense! Say goodbye to the newest Mall in Salisbury because it's now going to be worthless.

Charles Jannace tried telling everyone in his Campaign, retail goes first in a bad economy and if retail goes in Salisbury, Salisbury will surely fail and crumble and that is only a few short years away.

My suggestion to all of you is, SELL NOW AND GET OUT WHILE THE GETTIN IS GOOD!

It Doesn't Get Any Better Than This!

A Waste Of Huge Tax Dollars!

Hi Tide Marine is by far one of the more reputable companies locally owned by a wonderful man, Denny Sharp.

Denny did the Pier at my home in West Ocean City, dredged the Canal down the side of my property and ultimately put in the bulkhead on that same property.

However, spending the kind of money the City is on rip rap in this particular area is a complete joke and the citizens fell for the Mayor's BS one more time. This is not tidal water and erosion is so minimal you'd not even notice it in 20 years.

Nonetheless, this Mayor feels the need to let Jim Rapp and John Jacobs fill everyone with even more BS and throw away hard earned tax dollars for no good reason.

Here, I'll even prove it. Come on Jimbo & John, come on here and tell everyone why this was so necessary? Then come on here and tell everyone what this is going to cost the taxpayers. One thing I know about Denny is that he doesn't even come close to working for free!

Again Ladies & Gentlemen, you have people placing orders for something they've never done before, so what do they know what it's going to cost? They get a couple of bids and they think, that's a good deal and they run with it because you the taxpayer are paying for it.

IDIOTS!

The Dumbest Signs I've Ever Seen!

There are two signs here that are just Idiotic! First let's start with the stupid question mark sign. Look Idiots, this is how you spell "Information!" This is the Eastern Shore and most Idiots don't know what that sign means.

Secondly and even more importantly, why the HELL doesn't the Salisbury/Dover sign say, Delaware, New York & New Jersey instead? Do you have ANY clue just how many people you piss off because all the OTHER signs on old Rt. 50 say New York & New Jersey miles away from the FINAL sign before you head that direction?

Who is the Idiot in charge of this information anyway? Can anyone here tell us so we can blast it all across the news and be able to blame someone in charge? Each summer people have to place their own signs in the ground so people can get an idea that this is the exit/shortcut to New York & New Jersey and then the SHA pulls down these signs and someone comes along the next day and put another one up again. It's a game that lasts all summer and the SHA is CLUELESS!

I wants names. I want an Idiot of the Year Award made up for this Idiot.

May God Bless That American Bald Eagle

Ladies & Gentlemen,

I have a story to tell that I believe you'll find quite interesting. First of all I want to publicly thank "all" of you for your kind words referencing the Bald Eagle Jennifer & I rescued the other day. It was an experience I'll never forget the rest of my life and I believe any one of you can tell just how proud I am of my wife and her abilities to work so well with animals.

When we received the first call about an injured Eagle Jennifer was instantly concerned about the repercussions of Federal Law but she also knew the animal needed immediate attention. Unlike the City of Salisbury and the Salisbury Zoo, this household thinks about the animal welfare first and politics second. That is why we unconditionally took off to help this animal. We also knew we had 48 hours to do something with this Eagle and we followed the law to a tee.

Here's how the story thickens though. On Tuesday afternoon around 3:00 we received a telephone call from the main office of DNR in Annapolis. They actually called my cell phone and had a sense of urgency in their tone when they called. "Where did you capture this Eagle?" "Where did it go to rehab?"

Not being sure who was actually at the other end of the phone I stated I was not in the position to answer their questions as I had no clue who they were. I believe they instantly understood why I was on the defense and they said, let me start over again Mr. Albero. I have been on your Blog Site and I saw the incredible pictures of the rescue you did for that Eagle. Our immediate concern right at this moment is where the animal is at right now? They gave me their title at DNR and instantly convinced me that they were who they said they were.

I explained to them where we had sent the animal and they were instantly excited. It is "exactly" where they would have sent it and NOT the Salisbury Zoo! They went on to explain how my photographs told the entire story from beginning to end but my story on the Blog did not explain some of the details they needed to know.

"Someone" did in fact contact DNR in Annapolis in the attempt to get us into trouble for what we had done. We ALL know who that was! Nevertheless, I'd like to publicly thank that person right here and now because wait till you hear the ending of this story.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has formally asked Jennifer and I to become an official rescue operation for them. They have already forwarded the forms and Jennifer has agreed under certain terms to get set up right away. With her 18 years of experienced they would be honored to have us on board. We explained how we had rescued Foals last year and I couldn't be more serious when I tell you they wanted an answer right away as to if we'd do it or not.

They are also investigating the DNR representative that refused to go into the field to look for this animal the first day and then claimed they would be back there the next morning and I found out with a simple phone call they were off that day and never truly intended to be there anyway. I respect the fact that this is hunting season and they're quite busy but a Bald Eagle is a priority in this Country and they take this matter very seriously. I expect this to be taken care of immediately and as I know these people from DNR are following this Blog Site, we thank you for calling. We thank you for your interest and we're honored you want us on board.

Dr. Tragle has also sent very kind personal e-mail messages and firmly encourages Jennifer into getting involved immediately. Once again "someone" has tried to bring us down and in the end once again it turned out to be a God Send.

So we thank all of you for your support, kind wishes and even trouble making. Good things happen to good people. May God Bless that American Bald Eagle. It has just changed the lives of many other animals in desperate need.

Bald Eagle Update.....

Joe (and Jennifer),

I spoke with Erica (Miller, vet) at Tristate this morning and have an update on the bald eagle, although it is not good news. The wrist was hanging because the elbow was out of joint on the right wing. They attempted surgery to repair the damage last night, and found that the elbow was completely out of socket (radius & ulna removed completely from humerus), the surface of the joint was already beginning to break down and become necrotic, meaning even if they could have gotten the elbow back in joint (which they could not) the bird would have had severe arthritis it’s entire life, therefore not being able to fly well and then not at all. The eagle had to, very unfortunately, be euthanized.

The injury was estimated to have been there for at least 4 to 5 days or longer, and to be able to successfully relocate any joint injury it has to be fixed within 24 to 48 hrs of dislocation. I am really very sorry there wasn’t more we could do for him, but from the people who first spotted him/her, to you and Jennifer capturing the eagle, to transporting and treating it, everyone did there very best to help that awesome bird.

Please take comfort that he/she received a really awesome last meal, safe place to sleep, and all the medical intervention possible to save him and in the end we still helped the eagle by ending his pain and suffering in the most peaceful, best way possible. He wasn’t doomed to sit in the woods in fear, starving, cold, and in pain, becoming further and further debilitated and suffering and starving till the end, and for me, even though we won’t release him in the woods, we released him from his pain and suffering, and that is a good thing.

I really would like to thank both you and Jennifer for all your help with this little guy/girl and I know the eagle thanks you as well. Sorry to be the bearer of the bad news…

O.J. Simpson Show Cancelled On Fox

Although millions upon millions of people would have watched it, how stupid are we actually proving to be as Americans?

I'll leave this whole thing open for a healthy debate.

Dats My Girl!

Two "former" Salisbury Zoo Employees who are out for the good of all animals collected this Bald Eagle for the last time to get her off to a Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington.

I wanted to make sure that Jim Rapp & Crew were able to see the Eagle removed and shipped off before the Feds get called in to arrest us. By Federal Law we have 48 hours to get this animal out to a Rehab Center, just so you know Jimbo.

Nevertheless, I have been bombarded with extremely kind e-mail messages and I/We thank you all! You can easily see why so many of the men at the Salisbury Zoo are jealous they could not be in my shoes and I actually don't blame them one bit! Jennifer is one very special Lady and second to none!

We'll keep you posted as to her rehabilitation and release date.

Dead Body Found In Delmar Transfer Station Pond

They weren't telling much but it was very interesting. They had one of the dive teams out there in the pond searching for something?

Aparently the young mans truck had been sitting there for at least two days. The red vehicle says, Browns removal service for funeral homes.

It's A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood.

I thought everyone might enjoy the beauty in nature and in colors within these two shots.

Have a great day!
