While I can't recall offhand the breeds they are not that uncommon and they have attacked adults. Now keep in mind these are purebreds and not mixes. Also it's not to say they haven't nipped at a child but that the injuries didn't require medical intervention which then has to be reported by law to the CDC. I agree no dog is to ever be fully trusted and never a cat. With that being said I would never leave any dog alone with a baby just because an animal is just that. Hypocritical statement but in truth I wouldn't leave my cat with my infant nor my Bassett hound. To be honest I stressed over my cat more then my dog. A lot missing to this story if you ask me. As always the dog pays the price. Again they are all animals. The pit fact means nothing. Now let the bashing begin. My experience my opinion. Doesn't mean any one needs to agree. Only those ignorant to canine genetics think you can "love" an inherent trait out of a dog. While a breeds' traits may lie dormant you can never know what will trigger them or when.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31586983.post-47103726091192547192017-09-30T07:17:21.733-04:002017-09-30T07:17:21.733-04:00so sorry. so sad. Please don't come on here...so sorry. so sad. Please don't come on here and defend pit bulls. "its all in how they are raised", "they are very gentle around my kids", etc. PUHHHHHHHHHLEEEEEEESE don't make a damn fool of yourself.

Pits Bulls like male Rottweilers and certain other breeds are inheritantly dangerous and should never be trusted around children or the elderly. How many times have you every heard of any other breed killing someone? I mean, really - this has happened far too often all over the country.

I support any jurisdiction that bans "dangerous breeds", which translates to Pit Bulls. They should be hunted down and exterminated.

Still don't agree? OK, that is your right but read the article again and put yourself in that family's plight. Go ahead. A damn shame. And so unnecessary. Can't believe the family even had a baby in the home. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
