Trump Told Sarah Sanders "Not To Bother" With Press Briefings Anymore

In a week that has been defined by blunders committed by the "Fake News" media, President Trump is taking his bashing of the American press to a whole new level.

Following an earlier tweet where he condemned the mainstream media outlets for bashing a teenager at a Catholic high school in Kentucky who was accused of harassing a Native American activist after video footage of the encounter was taken wildly out of context, Trump revealed that he told Press Secretary Sarah Sanders "not to bother" with press conferences because of the unfair and "rude" media coverage she receives.

The reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the “podium” much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely & inaccurately, in particular certain members of the press. I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway! Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!

Is the Black Vote Benefiting From Democratic Control?

In 1976, Gerald Ford won 15 percent of the black vote. That’s the most of any recent Republican presidential candidate. In most elections, blacks give Democrats over 90 percent of their votes. It’s not unreasonable to ask what have blacks gained from such unquestioning loyalty to the Democratic Party.

After all, the absolute worst public safety conditions and other urban amenities for blacks are in cities that have been controlled by Democrats for decades. Let’s look at it.

What cities are the deadliest for blacks? The Trace, an independent nonprofit news organization, answers that question.

Using 2017 data from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting program, The Tracelisted the 20 major U.S. cities with the highest homicide rates—factoring in both the number of people murdered in cities and their populations. Chicago, with 589 murders in 2018—one murder every 15 hours–is often called the nation’s murder capital. But that’s dead wrong.

Nurse arrested in rape of woman in vegetative state who gave birth at care facility

A licensed practical nurse who was supposed to care for a woman in a vegetative state at a long-term Arizona nursing facility was arrested and charged with raping her after she gave birth to a baby last month, officials announced Wednesday.

Phoenix Police Chief Jeri Williams said at a news conference that 36-year-old Nathan Sutherland was arrested and will be charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of vulnerable adult abuse for the incident at the Hacienda Healthcare facility in Phoenix.

"We have worked virtually nonstop every day, every night to resolve this case," Williams told reporters, adding that the crime was "beyond reproach."

Get Ready– they’re coming for your money

Every so often throughout history, the peasants grab their pitchforks and come for the elite. It happens when the wealth gap grows too extreme… when people feel like they are getting left behind, with no opportunity to advance.

Central banks around the world have printed trillions of dollars over last decade, and pushed interest rates to zero, and sometimes below. And all of that stimulus went directly into the pockets of the wealthy.

Since 2009, the world’s billionaires more than DOUBLED their combined wealth. All the billionaires in the world had $3.4 trillion in 2009. By 2017, they amassed $8.9 trillion.

Mark Zuckerberg multiplied his wealth almost 20 times over, from $3 billion in 2009, to over $58 billion in 2019.

$8.9 trillion is a massive, almost incomprehensible amount of wealth.

But it really shouldn’t be that surprising if you think about it… these people are wealthy for a reason. Typically, they are pretty good at making money. And with the snowball effect, if you give them more time, they will probably make even more.

For the last ten years, we’ve seen a huge asset price inflation in everything from the stock market, to bonds and real estate, and even fine art and wine.

But if you’re a wage earner without assets, you’ve been left out. Wages and median household wealth have stagnated.

And this is a global issue…

Covington Catholic Bishop STILL Will Not Apologize For Maligning Innocent Boys

"This is a very serious matter"

Catholics in America suffered yet another round of humiliation this past weekend when the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky, caved into mob pressure by maligning a group of innocent high schoolers based on a viral video taken wildly out of context.

"We condemn the actions of the Covington Catholic High School students towards Nathan Phillips specifically, and Native Americans in general, Jan. 18, after the March for Life, in Washington, D.C.," said the office of Bishop Robert Foys in a statement on Saturday. "We extend our deepest apologies to Mr. Phillips. This behavior is opposed to the Church’s teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person."

The statement condemning a group of minors to a life of ruin at the hands of an SJW mob remained on the Covington archdiocese's website well into Monday, even after evidence increasingly showed that the boys were not bullying a Native American protester and were in fact victims of racial harassment.

Rather than apologize to the students who will now have to walk with a scarlet letter across their chest for years to come, the Covington Diocese issued an "update" on Tuesday, saying a "third-party investigation" is underway to determine if any "corrective action" should be taken.

"Concerning the incident in Washington, D.C., between Covington Catholic students, Elder Nathan Phillips and Black Hebrew Israelites the independent, third-party investigation is planned to begin this week. This is a very serious matter that has already permanently altered the lives of many people. It is important for us to gather the facts that will allow us to determine what corrective actions, if any, are appropriate," the January 22 statement read, according to LifeSiteNews.

"We pray that we may come to the truth and that this unfortunate situation may be resolved peacefully and amicably and ask others to join us in this prayer."

The Covington Diocese issued this horrifically disgusting statement of moral abdication even as multiple pundits, journalists, and celebrities have issued apologies of their own for jumping to conclusions too soon. In the wake of this disgrace, members of the Covington Catholic community have been excoriating the diocese for shamelessly throwing these boys under the bus. LifeSiteNews has more:

Ocasio-Cortez Calls Existence of Billionaires 'Immoral'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) called the existence of billionaires "immoral" during a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day event.

During a Monday event at New York City's Riverside Church, the Atlantic‘s Ta-Nehisi Coates asked Ocasio-Cortez about whether it is right for billionaires to be billionaires. "Do we live in a moral world that allows for billionaires? Is that a moral outcome, in and of itself?" Coates asked.

"No it is not," the freshman congresswoman said to applause. "I don't think that necessarily means that all billionaires are immoral," she clarified, but "a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don't have access to public health, is wrong." Ocasio-Cortez did not say what she would do to right the moral wrong and end the billionaires' existence so long as the least fortunate continued to suffer.

Ocasio-Cortez shifted focus from moralizing about the wealthy to focusing on the poor. "And I think that it's wrong that the vast majority of the country does not make a living wage," she added. Measurements from the University of California, Davis place the national poverty rate in 2017 between 12 and 14 percent, less than a "vast majority." The hourly federal minimum wage is $7.25. A single parent working 100 hours per week for 52 weeks at that minimum wage would make $37,700 before taxes. A married couple in the same situation would make $75,400.

Prof Goes After Covington Kid And "Smiling Face Of Whiteness"

An Ivy League professor bashed "the smiling face of Whiteness" in response to the recent controversy involving an interaction between a Native American man and a Catholic teenage supporter of President Donald Trump.

“Whiteness endlessly forgives its own transgressions,” University of Pennsylvania associate professor Ebony Elizabeth Thomaswrote on Sunday about the confrontation between Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann and Native American Nathan Phillips.

“It rarely, if ever, gives those of us it harms and maims and kills time to process our motions [sic].”

Thomas teaches in UPenn’s Graduate School of Education.

“‘You forgive us, right? You have to forgive us! Understanding will make it better! Reconciliation! Diversity! Inclusion!’” she continued, conveying what she suggests to be the attitude of most white people.

According to Thomas, the “smiling face of Whiteness” is one that “always hides a knife behind its back.”

“That knife says this: ‘You must forgive us. You must educate us. Or else.’”

“Usually, that ‘or else’ happens anyway,” the professor adds. “But it will assuredly happen unless you kiss Whiteness' ring.”

Thomas goes on to claim that she

People Love "Medicare For All" - Until They Find Out It Will Raise Taxes

While "Medicare-for-all" is set to become a 2020 Democratic talking point, support for the universal healthcare scheme crumbles when people are asked if they'd be willing to pay higher taxes or put up with delays in treatment to get it, according to the Associated Press.

According to a survey released Wednesday by the nonpartisan Kaiser Family Foundation, initial support for the "Medicare-for-all" comes in at 56% - increasing to as much as 71% when people are told it would guarantee health insurance as a right, eliminate premiums and reduce out-of-pocket expenses.
When told that it would increase taxes or lead to delays in service, however, support for the program dropped to 37% and 26% respectively.

"The issue that will really be fundamental would be the tax issue," says Harvard professor Robert Blendon of the T.H. Chan School of Public Health in response to the poll. Blendon noted that single-payer programs in Vermont and Colorado failed due to concerns over tax increases required to fund them.

There doesn't seem to be much disagreement that a single-payer system would require tax increases, since the government would take over premiums now paid by employers and individuals as it replaces the private health insurance industry. The question is how much.

Several independent studies have estimated that government spending on health care would increase dramatically, in the range of about $25 trillion to $35 trillion or more over a 10-year period. But a recent estimate from the Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst suggests that it could be much lower. -Associated Press

It’s Toxic Media That Hurts America, Not Toxic Masculinity

Gillette shaving company started last week with a bang. Their “toxic masculinity” commercial attacked all men as rapists, bullies, and brutes. According to the company, masculine men have these issues, and we are the downfall of our society and culture. The media and left-wing pundits agreed and widely praised the ad. But then the weekend came, and the press proved something - they are toxic to America, not masculine men.

BuzzFeed published a report alleging Trump told his longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about a potential business deal in Moscow during 2016. For approximately ten or so hours, the media had a frenzy. This was the smoking gun, and Trump is over. He would have to resign. However, Mueller’s spokesperson released a statement and informed the public that the allegations were false. BuzzFeed refused to admit they were wrong. Instead, they doubled down and peddled the report.

BuzzFeed’s failure to admit they were wrong is dangerous to the country. The political climate already feels like a tinderbox at times. Pushing political lies places lives at risk – just ask House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) who was shot by a progressive Democrat at a Congressional baseball game practice.

Mike Pompeo: Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro can’t expel US diplomats

Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro lacks “the legal authority” to expel American diplomats, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Wednesday.

“The United States does not recognize the Maduro regime as the government of Venezuela,” Pompeo warned in a statement. “Accordingly the United States does not consider former president Nicolas Maduro to have the legal authority to break diplomatic relations with the United States or to declare our diplomats persona non grata.”

Maduro ordered the departure of American officials earlier Wednesday after President Trump announced his support for a leading opposition figure who has claimed the constitutional authority to supplant the socialist strongman. Trump backed Maduro’s ouster by affirming that National Assembly President Juan Guaido stands as the interim president of the country, days after the lawmaker declared Maduro’s inauguration invalid and invoked a constitutional provision authorizing him to assume the presidency and oversee new elections.

Covington Lawyer Gives Media 48 Hours to 'Retract and Correct' Smears

Robert Barnes, the lawyer representing the Covington Catholic High School kids who were smeared by the media, is warning reporters, celebrities, and others with large media platforms that they have until Friday to correct the record, or they will be sued.

Because of their sloppy reporting of what transpired in Washington, D.C., when two groups of protesters confronted a group of Catholic high school students who were waiting to catch a bus last Friday, the teens and their families have become the subjects of ongoing threats and harassment from a hateful online outrage mob.

On Fox and Friends Wednesday morning, Barnes, who is representing the families at no cost, explained that because the kids are private citizens and minors, anything someone says about them that is false can be libel, according to the law. Rather than proving malice, "all you have to prove is negligence," he said.

Senator Lindsey Graham to Investigate Obama and Hillary Scandals

Since taking over the House, Democrats have promised to open the investigation floodgates. If Donald Trump or anyone in his administration ever so much as misplaced a paper clip, you can be sure there would be hearings. When the Mueller probe reveals that there is no evidence of Russian collusion, they will start their own investigation, no doubt. Their main objective is to make sure Trump is not reelected, and in the meantime, they will do everything they can to make it impossible for him to govern. To them, that is called transparency and accountability.

But when the tables are turned, and the real crimes and abuses of power by Democrats are suddenly in the crosshairs of Republicans with a thirst for accountability… well, there’s outrage:

New tensions are flaring on the Senate Judiciary Committee over plans by newly minted Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to dig into Obama-era scandals.

Graham, a close ally of President Trump’s, has outlined several areas he wants to probe now that he has the Judiciary Committee gavel.

They include the FBI’s handling of its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant applications targeting former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), asked about Graham’s plans, started laughing and compared them to the “thrilling days of yesteryear.”

“This is going to be like the History Channel it turns out. Instead of taking a look at the current issues, Lindsey Graham wants to go back and answer important questions about the Bermuda Triangle and Hillary Clinton,” Durbin told The Hill.

Durbin said he was “concerned” about Graham’s plans but quipped that “you know there is that question about Jimmy Carter which he probably wants to ask.”

If Libs Will Lie About the Covington Catholic Kids, Who Won't They Lie About?

Ever since the 2016 presidential election broke the brain of every lib on earth, we've heard a lot about "foreign influence." The Russians, once dismissed as harmless has-beens by the Democrats -- "Governor Romney, the 1980s are calling to ask for their foreign policy back" -- are now the boogeymen underneath every bed and around every corner. Whenever the Dems embarrass themselves, you can bet that somebody somewhere is blaming it on "foreign influence."

And maybe they're right!

Donie O'Sullivan, CNN Business:

Twitter suspended an account on Monday afternoon that helped spread a controversial encounter between a Native American elder and a group of high school students wearing Make America Great Again hats.

The account claimed to belong to a California schoolteacher. Its profile photo was not of a schoolteacher, but of a blogger based in Brazil, CNN Business found. Twitter suspended the account soon after CNN Business asked about it.

The account, with the username @2020fight, was set up in December 2016 and appeared to be the tweets of a woman named Talia living in California.

Pentagon: Chinese Military Units Training With ASAT missiles

Chinese military forces have deployed multiple units armed with anti-satellite (ASAT) missiles that can destroy scores of American satellites, according to a Pentagon intelligence report.

The new report by the National Air and Space Intelligence Center, known as NASIC, revealed that People's Liberation Army units have begun training with the satellite-killing missiles.

The report warns that China, along with Russia, has developed an array of space arms designed to challenge U.S. space superiority. The report was made public last month

The report for first time reveals that Chinese military units already are conducting training for space attacks with anti-satellites missiles. Russia also is developing a new anti-satellite missile the report said.

"These missiles can destroy U.S. and allied space systems in low earth orbit, making intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and communications satellites vulnerable," the report said.

Freshman House Dems Counter Trump’s Offer to End Shutdown

A group of freshman Democrats in the House are countering President Donald Trump's proposal to end the partial government shutdown, despite Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (Calif.) opposition to any compromise that includes border wall funding.

On Tuesday, the initial draft of a letter to Pelosi authored by Rep. Elaine Luria (Va.) and other freshmen House Democrats was made public. The letter, which was first reported by Politico, urges the speaker to "guarantee a vote" on Trump's request for $5 billion to construct a border wall in exchange for the president agreeing to reopen the government beforehand.

"Once the government is reopened, the Democrat Majority will immediately begin debate in committee on the supplemental discretionary funding request by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for border security," Luria and her fellow freshman wrote. "This will allow DHS leadership to explain in detail how the funds will be used and whether this expenditure will have the reported results presented by the president."

Arguing that a debate would also allow members to "offer amendments to address" the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program and other protections for illegal immigrants, the authors seemed to imply such a deal would be a too good pass up for both sides.

Trump says he will give State of the Union when shutdown is over

President Trump said Wednesday night that he will not deliver a State of the Union address during the government shutdown — hours after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi canceled the annual speech in the Capitol’s House chamber.

“As the Shutdown was going on, Nancy Pelosi asked me to give the State of the Union Address. I agreed. She then changed her mind because of the Shutdown, suggesting a later date. This is her prerogative,” Trump wrote in a tweet a little after 11 p.m.

“I will do the Address when the Shutdown is over. I am not looking for an alternative venue for the SOTU Address because there is no venue that can compete with the history, tradition and importance of the House Chamber,” he added.

Gannett lays off journalists across the country

Another brutal day for journalism.

Gannett began slashing jobs all across the country Wednesday in a cost-cutting move that was anticipated even before the recent news that a hedge-fund company was planning to buy the chain.

The cuts were not minor.

At the Indianapolis Star, three journalists were laid off, including well-known columnist Tim Swarens. At the Knoxville (Tennessee) News Sentinel, University of Tennessee women’s basketball reporter Dan Fleser is out after more than 30 years in sports. The Tennessean cut three positions, including high school sports reporter Michael Murphy.

Six were laid off at The Record in North Jersey after nine took an early retirement buyout earlier this month.

Kristi Nelson, president of the Knoxville Newspaper Guild, told the State of Newspapers, “It’s distressing to once again be mourning staff cuts in our newsroom. Not only do our hearts go out to our colleagues, we acknowledge that the loss of any trained, professional journalist is a loss to our readers as well; one less voice speaking on behalf of the community we cover.’’

Sheila Jackson Lee Resigns from Key Posts After Being Sued for Retaliation Against Staffer

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) will resign from two high-profile positions after being sued for retaliation against a staffer, according to a Wednesday report.

The New York Times states Jackson will resign as chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and temporarily step down from her House Judiciary subcommittee chairmanship.

The Times, citing officials familiar with the matter, reports some of the foundation’s board members told Jackson Lee last week that she would face a “vote of removal” if she did not resign.

The staffer, identified as Jane Doe, alleges she was raped by a Congressional Black Caucus Foundation intern coordinator, Damien Jones, in 2015. The unnamed plaintiff said she has evidence, including text message, telephone conservations, and DNA to prove the encounter occurred. According to the accuser, she was fired from her position in March 2018 after notifying the Texas Democrat’s chief of staff, Glenn Rushing, that she intended to take legal action against the foundation. The lawsuit states she was let go several weeks later, citing “budgetary issues.”

Jeffries Backs Off Trump ‘Grand Wizard’ Comment

Although he did not say he regretted calling President Donald Trump “the grand wizard of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) backed off his comment on Wednesday, saying he does not actually think the president “is a card-carrying member of the KKK.”

However, Jeffries pointed out Trump “has presided and engaged in directly a series of racially insensitive remarks.”

Jeffries told CNN “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota that Martin Luther King, Jr., Day should be a day where people can have a “candid” conversation about race.

“But you called the president the grand wizard meaning of the KKK. That’s language of the KKK. You think the president of the United States is connected to the KKK? He’s a Klansman?” Camerota asked.

Pelosi rejects Trump, says House won’t authorize State of the Union address in chamber

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday flatly rejected President Trump’s acceptance of her initial invitation to deliver his State of the Union address to Congress.

“I am writing to inform you that the House of Representatives will not consider a concurrent resolution authorizing the President’s State of the Union address in the House chamber until government has opened,” the speaker wrote as the brinkmanship between House Democrats and the White House continued to escalate.

She said she would welcome Trump to the House on a mutually agreed upon date once the partial government shutdown, now in its 33rd day, was over.

Trump later told reporters he wasn’t surprised.

“I’m not surprised. It’s really a shame what’s happening with the Democrats. They’ve become radicalized,” he told reporters.

Wicomico County’s Third Quarter Overdose Fatality Report

(Salisbury,MD) On Tuesday, January 15, 2019, the Maryland Department of Health released the third quarter Unintentional Drug and Alcohol Related Intoxication Death report which documented an eight percent increase in overdose deaths in the state of Maryland when compared to the same time period from the previous year (January-September 2017). Although the state saw an overall increase in 2018, Wicomico County’s overdose numbers remained consistent with the previous year, totaling 30 lives lost to an overdose during the January-September time period.

This overdose report came just five days after the Hogan-Rutherford Administration announced that the state would be awarding Wicomico County with $972,684 to repurpose the Poplar Hill Facility in Wicomico County for substance use disorder treatment and recovery on the Eastern Shore. The facility will include 23-hour observation and detoxification services, residential treatment, and recovery housing, as well as an employment service -- helping those in the recovery housing program successfully reintegrate back into the community and gain employment.

“Although Wicomico County did not see a decrease in overdose deaths during this time period, we remain hopeful that with continued prevention efforts, increased treatment options and strong recovery resources in our community, these numbers will, in time, begin to decrease and lives will be saved” states Christina Bowie-Simpson, Opioid Coordinator for Wicomico County. Naloxone training continues to be a priority for the county with the hope that lives will be saved by utilization of this opioid-overdose reversal medication. Naloxone trainings are held every 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Wicomico Public Library Lower Level Meeting Rooms from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Five killed in Florida bank shooting, suspect arrested

A gunman fatally shot five people in a Florida bank Wednesday afternoon before surrendering to police, authorities said.

Zephen Xaver, 21, allegedly opened fire inside a SunTrust branch in Sebring — about 90 miles southeast of Tampa — around 12:30 p.m., officials said in a somber evening news conference.

“Today’s been a tragic day in our community,” said Sebring police Chief Karl Hoglund. “We’ve suffered significant loss at the hands of a senseless criminal doing a senseless crime.”

It was not immediately clear whether the victims were customers, employees or included some of both.

Also unclear was what prompted Xaver to open fire inside the bank, kicking off a massive police response.
