President Trump on Tuesday said that he wants to ban so-called bump stocks — devices that can turn ordinary rifles into weapons that fire like machine guns, such as those used in the mass killing in Las Vegas.
“After the deadly shooting in Las Vegas, I directed the attorney general to clarify whether certain bump stock devices like the one used in Las Vegas are illegal under current law,” Trump said, referring to Jeff Sessions.
“Just a few moments ago, I signed a memorandum directing the attorney general to propose regulations to ban all devices that turn legal weapons into machine guns,” Trump continued at the White House.
“I expect that these critical regulations will be finalized very soon.”

We need to take the lead on this one.
ReplyDeleteFirst, make it unlawful to make and own a bump-stock.
Second, raise the minimum age to 21 in order to purchase/own a firearm.
Third, improve the FBI screening process.
I'm an NRA member and own several guns. None of these actions will erode 2nd amendment rights but will go a LONG WAY to show people Republicans care about protecting kids at school.
Doing nothing will cause them to lose votes in November. The optics are just too enticing for the MSM to ignore and they will use this against conservatives.
Who cares? Everyone I have seen is a POS
ReplyDeleteI am an avid gun owner and 2nd supporter. Bump stocks and anything that turns your SA into a FA are not functionally useful.
Even with repeated use and training they are difficult to use. And Accuracy? Good luck. You are much better off using a SA. You just have to have the balls to aim and shoot with someone shooting back.
Spray and pray only works in a limited setting.
But what do I know? I just own and use guns as a hobby. The Dems really take it seriously finding new and crazy ways that guns can be used. Most of them still think that a civilian can go out and buy an automatic rifle off the shelves of Dicks Sporting Goods today and be training with it that afternoon.
Dems...so flipping clueless about so, so many things.
Nice. Bought 4 of them after the Vegas shooting. They are going for close to $1000 each now. Gonna sell two and buy 2 more AR-15s before they get banned.

ReplyDeleteWhat we want is freedom.
I want you to have the freedom to dislike bump stocks.
I want the freedom to have no gun at all.
I want my neighbors to have the freedom to have as many guns as they want.
I want FREEDOM. Period.
Remember, the best defense against someone with a gun is another person with a gun.
Don't bring a cell phone to a gun fight.
The police / government cannot and will not protect you.
