SEATTLE (AP) — Politicians in New York, Seattle and other “sanctuary cities” that protect immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally declared Wednesday they won’t be intimidated by a move by President Donald Trump to cut off millions in federal funding to such communities.
Many cities vowed legal action, arguing that the threatened punishment would be unconstitutional. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh promised to let immigrants who feel threatened by the administration’s actions take shelter in City Hall if necessary.
“This city will not be bullied by this administration,” Seattle Mayor Ed Murray said, adding that he instructed city departments to rework their budgets to prepare for the possibility that federal dollars could be lost. “We believe we have the rule of law and the courts on our side.”

ReplyDeleteThe voters should realize their elected officials do not care about their safety.
ReplyDeleteJerry Brown gov of California admitted during the election his state has massive voter fraud but the MSM refused to cover it because they thought Hillary was sure to win,go pres Trump!
ReplyDeleteGood luck suing in court when, you are housing Illegal immigrants... They are called illegal for a reason you dumb asses...
ReplyDeleteThey say they have "the rule of law on their side".
ReplyDeleteThey DO know that THEY are in violation of several Federal laws, right?
PLUS, the one where they SWORE to uphold and DEFEND the Constitution.
From allowing men into the womens rooms, to praising and encouraging admiration for men in pink thongs, to releasing terrorists to kill our kids, to letting MILLIONS of people to swim, run, and climb into a heaven of free housing and medical care that "we, the people" were billed for, to LYING about everything possible, to telling us that if it weren't for muslims, we probably would have never been anything other than a colony, and oh yeah, lets not forget "the assault on women's rights", the liberal narrative was so far off reality for most Americans, the choice was clear.
Keep cheering.
I hope the defy Trump, I want to see him tear these people new ones!!

ReplyDeleteBig boy/girl pants are NOW required for the job and when OUR Commander in Chief starts formulating policy/law - to be approved by Congress - implementation is the next and only step.
New sheriff is in charge, he has a business acumen and doesn't take kindly to the word NO or those who disobey. MSM is finding that out already and don't like it at all.
ReplyDeleteThey are all hooked on the federal dollars. Talk is cheap. When they have programs to fund and people to pay they will get meek in a heartbeat.
As others have noted, we welcome legal immigrants. Illegal immigrants broke our laws the moment they set foot here. Officials in towns and cities who break our laws are co-conspirators and should be warned, arrested, tried and sentenced.
Funny that the same people that thought is was constitutional for Obama to threaten to withhold federal funds for states that didn't comply with his perverted bathroom rule, now think it is unconstitutional for Trump's rule to withhold federal funds to cities that refuse to comply with federal regulations and laws. Democrats and their policies are a perverted joke on the American people.
ReplyDeleteIf they can rework their budgets so they can do without federal funding, why is the federal government funding them or any other sanctuary city?
