The knowledge that the redeeming blood of Jesus has been applied to ME -- a person who had absolutely earned a prime spot in hell-- and that I will not only live with Him forever, but that He also has made me one with Him.. the God of the universe.
I do not consider family a possession though if they were they would be number one. The same for friends. At 70+ my health is very good but that too is not really a possession. Happiness? I'm pretty happy. So lets discuss tangibles Here I would go with the big things first; house, car, etc. Everything I mentioned here can all be gone in an instant. But what will be there for me forever is the everafter. I know there is a place for me there. That's number one.
Binoculars given to me on my birthday just before my father died of a heart attack in 1983. Still in great shape. Sentimental value and a last memory of him that I can still hold on to.
my wedding rings and my dogs (even though I don't own them - they choose to live with me). when I am feeling blue I pray and also think about my kind, loving, supportive husband and the many memories of his love. and those rings are the outward symbol of that love.
