Here are the richest and poorest towns in Maryland

Financial website 24/7 Wall St. has published lists of the richest and poorest towns — communities with less than 25,000 residents — in each state.

The lists are based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey — namely, five-year estimated median annual household incomes from 2010 through 2014.

Note that college towns — those where more than 40 percent of the population enrolled in an undergrad or graduate program — were not included in the 24/7 Wall St. analysis. That's because the typically low incomes of students tend to skew poverty rates.
