Treasury Department Gets Extension

The Treasury Department, under pressure from local members of Congress, has backed off a plan to relocate 450 employees in Prince George's County, Md.. The employees originally had until January 2015 to relocate or lose their jobs. But Treasury officials agreed to push it back to 2019. Sens. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.) and Ben Cardin (D-Md.) announced the delay along with Reps. Donna Edwards (D-Md.), Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) and John Sarbanes (D-Md.) The affected employees work for the Financial Management Service in Hyattsville. Treasury wants to consolidate FMS operations to Parkersburg, W.Va.

How can we ever reduce spending. Any attempt to save money will be short circuited by a member of congress or a swelling outrage from the press, or the internet. Saving money means someone doesn't get what they expected.

If they need to be cut, then cut, That's what we commoners have to do. We hate it as much as you do, but it's week by week for us, and you as well. Sorry you have to break the news to you then, but us private citizens, we need to make sure we have enough ammo to agree with you.
