WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Thursday will free 10 states from the strict and sweeping requirements of the No Child Left Behind law, giving leeway to states that promise to improve how they prepare and evaluate students, The Associated Press has learned.
The first 10 states to receive the waivers are Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, Oklahoma and Tennessee. NBC News confirmed the report.

Since Maryland has been touted lately as having the best educational system in the country, I doubt if we will receive a waiver. It was only a matter of time. If schools are having a problem with NCLB standards, then just lower the standards or do away with them altogether.

the problem with education starts in the home
they should not even let kids in school until they can do at least these things
and no one should be a teacher until they have had kids themselves
