Date and Time of Occurrence: Saturday, April 04, 2009, at approximately 3:25 a.m.

Suspect(s):
Cherrena Waples, 35, of Frankford, Delaware
Tremaine Collins, 27, of Seaford, Delaware

Resume: In the early morning hours of Saturday, April 4th, Troopers were called to Mobile Gardens, in Seaford, for the report of a domestic related assault.

Officers arrived on the scene and contact a 20-year-old female victim. She advised she received several calls throughout the night from a restricted number and believed the caller to be that of Cherrena Waples. The victim said she and Waples have an ongoing dispute as the two are dating the same man.

At about 3:30 a.m., the victim said Waples, and another female named Tremaine Collins, responded to her home and started banging on the side of the house challenging her to come out. When she refused, Waples keyed the victim’s car. The victim saw what happened and ran outside to confront the two suspects. It was at this point that Waples and Collins assaulted the victim. The victim was struck in the head with a wooden night stick causing a closed head injury.

The suspects then fled the scene.

As Troopers were ascertaining the facts of the case, the two suspects returned to the scene of the crime. Troopers took them into custody without incident. Waples was found to have been driving while impaired. She was also in possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

A Commenter Addresses Slumlords

Fed Up Rebel has left a new comment on your post "That Slumlord Cash Just Keeps Coming for Comegys, ...":

I know that some, if not all, of you so-called "concerned rental owners" who had a part in the mailing of the propaganda piece to your renters will read the comments on this blog. Therefore, this seems to be a good place to address you directly – particularly in view of what the Daily Times doesn’t have the guts to publish.

You and your tactics are nothing less than vile, self-serving, and destructive to the city of Salisbury. You did not produce and distribute your mailing out of ANY sense of true concern for your tenants. You did it for two reasons and ONLY two reasons:(1) as the 12:32 pm commenter above said, to intimidate your tenants into believing that the cost to bring your (roach infested, sub-par) rentals up to code and maintain them at such a level will be super costly and, therefore, cause you to raise rents.

Come on, Salisbury slumlords, give us a credit for just a bit more intelligence than that. Your "concern" does not extend beyond your own pockets and the proverbial "bottom line." And yes, we understand that as businesspersons this has to be a primary concern. Nevertheless, have you no sense of (or caring about) what is decent beyond a certain point? Have you no respect for the truth? Have you NO civic pride or concern that extends beyond the folds of your wallets or the lines of your financial statements?

Your second reason for flooding the mail system with this pack of lies is to further your witch hunt against Deborah Campbell. It is a sad and pathetically desperate attempt to use scare tactics to accomplish what you KNOW you could never accomplish otherwise - and that is to cast Mrs. Campbell into the role of a "menacing meanie" who is out to "get" renters and cost them in the end. You know that, if you can succeed in creating such a fearful and false picture in your tenants' minds, it will increase the chances of them voting against her.

Well, "concerned rental owners", anyone who has followed Salisbury politics for any length of time or taken even 15 minutes to research Mrs. Campbell's history, isn't going to fall for this load of propagandist manure you've spread. Mrs. Campbell's family history in this city goes back some SEVEN generations, and her record of service to this city – even long before she ever held public office – is long and lustrous. I can assure you she is not in this election with the thought of what is best for her wallet. She is and always has been about what’s best for the city of Salisbury – not any one or two or ten special interest groups, but the CITY. That will continue to be her chief concern the rest of her life. I know this because I’ve taken the time to do my homework on her and her record. I’ve done that homework for the past two years and can tell you that the city’s welfare is what Mrs. Campbell is all about. So you “concerned rental owners”, just continue merrily down the path you’re on with your pathetic lies about her. No doubt you will successfully scare and deceive some. But your lies will not live forever and you will not ultimately succeed.

In closing my comments, I will leave you with an admonishment that comes not from me, but from history. Speaking in March 1965 at the conclusion of an extraordinarily courageous march from Selma to Montgomery, AL, Dr. M.L. King said this about truth: “How long will justice be crucified and truth bear it? However difficult the moment, however frustrating the hour, it will NOT be long because the truth crushed to earth will rise again. How long? NOT long because no LIE can live forever. How long? NOT long because you shall reap what you sow. How long? NOT long because the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.”

You “concerned rental owners” would do well to hear and fear those words from Dr.King. Sooner or later – and probably sooner – the truth will out, no matter how many lies you spread by mail or other means. Sooner than you think, there will be a backlash against you which will deliver you right where you belong . . .into the trash bin of this city’s history.

Come on, fellow citizens: Let’s strike a blow against the slumlords and their lies on Tuesday.

See you at the polls.

IMPEACH NANCY PELOSI NOW

LET'S IMPEACH HER NOW BEFORE SHE DOES FURTHER DAMAGE!! WHAT AN IDIOT!!
IF YOU DON'T AGREE JUST DELETE--IF YOU DO--PASS IT ON!! WHERE DO WE GET THESE MORONS'

Windfall Tax on Retirement Income Adding a tax to your retirement is simply another way of saying to the American people, you're so darn stupid that we're going to keep doing this until we drain every cent from you. That's what the Speaker of the House is saying.

Nancy Pelosi wants a Windfall Tax on Retirement Income. In other words tax what you have made by investing toward your retirement. This woman is a nut case! You aren't going to believe this. Madam speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to put a Windfall Tax on all stock market profits (including Retirement fund, 401K and Mutual Funds! Alas, it is true - all to help the 12 Million illegal Immigrants and other unemployed Minorities! This woman is frightening. She quotes...' We need to work toward the goal of equalizing income, (didn't Marx say something like this?), in our country and at the same time limiting the amount the rich can invest.' (I am not rich, are you?) When asked how these new tax dollars would be spent, she replied: 'We need to raise the standard of living of our poor, unemployed and minorities. For example, we have an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants in our country who need our help along with millions of unemployed minorities. Stock market windfall profits taxes could go a long way to guarantee these people the standard of living they would like to have as 'Americans'.'

( Read that quote again and again and let it sink in.) 'Lower your retirement, give it to others who have not worked as you have for it'. Send it on to your friends. I just did!! This lady is out of her mind and she is the speaker of the house!

Three Boys Fishing

Barak Obama was out jogging one morning when he tripped, fell over the bridge railing and landed in the creek below.

Before the Secret Service guys could get to him, 3 kids who were fishing pulled him out of the water.. He was so grateful he offered the kids whatever they wanted.

The first kid said, 'I want to go to Disneyland '

Barak said, 'No problem, I'll take you there on my special airplane.

The second kid said, 'I want a new pair of Nike Air Jordan shoes..

Barak said, 'I'll get them for you and even have Michael Jordan sign them!'

The third kid said, ' I want a motorized wheelchair with a built in TV and stereo headset!'

Barak was a little perplexed by this and said, 'But you don't look like you're handicapped.'

The kid said, 'I will be after my dad finds out I saved your ass from drowning.

A Reader Asks The Following Question About Comegys Website

"Joe:

Curiosity has gotten to me. What is the story with Bubba´s web site? It has been up for a year hosted by Doug Church and it has been edited. But I can´t recall seeing it on Bubba´s campaign contributions. Is he also required to list the campaign expenses, too? Just wondering if this was properly reported or not."

HISTORICAL MOMENTS BY GEORGE CHEVALLIER

FINAL RESTING PLACE

Picture 1 – The monument in Forest Grove cemetery

Picture 2 – The location of the monument in the cemetery

This probably doesn’t have anything to do with the history of Salisbury but it is a poignant and humorous part of my history. It shows how things were a hundred years ago. It shows that divorce was not an option for those that thought things were not “working out”. It shows that many children were the norm on a farm before the days of planned parenthood and modern, mechanical conveniences.

My grandfather’s mother, Sallie Mary Disharoon, is the focal point of this story. She had 11 children over a span of 20 years and must have had a rather hectic life. Her husband, Samuel Frank Disharoon, was by all accounts a rather stern individual. They owned a 100 acre farm on Anderson Road (now Pemberton Drive) about two miles out of Salisbury. Life was hard in those days and children on a farm were thought of as extra hands to do the many chores that could be done by children depending on their age.

Now, Frank had died in the 1920’s and Sallie lived until January, 1944. When she was in the last days of her life, her daughters try to comfort her by telling her that they had taken care of everything. They had seen to it that she would have a place beside her husband in Parsons Cemetery. She told them that was not her wish. She wanted to be put to rest beside her mother in the Forest Grove Cemetery east of Salisbury. The girls said they thought she would want to be beside Frank. According to a witness to this conversation, her next words will always remain with me – “I want to be buried next to Mama in Forest Grove. I lay next to that man for forty years; I’m not laying next to him for all eternity”.

Judging by the picture of her monument, she’s not laying next to anybody.

WHY I LOVE MUM

Mum and Dad were watching TV when Mom said, "I'm tired, and it's getting late. I think I'll go to bed"

She went to the kitchen to make sandwiches for the next day's lunches.

Rinsed out the popcorn bowls, took meat out of the freezer for supper the following evening, checked the cereal box levels, filled the sugar container, put spoons and bowls on the table and started the coffee pot for brewing the next morning.

She then put some wet clothes in the dryer, put a load of clothes into the washer , ironed a shirt and secured a loose button

She picked up the game pieces left on the table, put the phone back on the charger and put the telephone book into the drawer.

She watered the plants, emptied a wastebasket and hung up a towel to dry.

She yawned and stretched and headed for the bedroom. She stopped by the desk and wrote a note to the teacher, counted out some cash for the field trip, and pulled a text book out from hiding under the chair.

She signed a birthday card for a friend, addressed and stamped the envelope and wrote a quick note for the grocery store. She put both near her purse.

Mom then washed her face with 3 in 1 cleanser, put on her Night solution & age fighting moisturizer, brushed and flossed her teeth and filed her nails.

Dad called out, "I thought you were going to bed."

"I'm on my way," she said.

She put some water into the dog's dish and put the cat outside, then made sure the doors were locked and the patio light was on.

She looked in on each of the kids and turned out their bedside lamps and TV's , hung up a shirt, threw some dirty socks into the hamper, and had a brief conversation with the one up still doing homework.

In her own room, she set the alarm; laid out clothing for the next day, straightened up the shoe rack. She added three things to her 6 most important things to do list. She said her prayers, and visualized the accomplishment of her goals.

About that time, Dad turned off the TV and announced to no one in particular.. "I'm going to bed."

And he did...without another thought.

Anything extraordinary here? Wonder why women live longer...?

CAUSE WE ARE MADE FOR THE LONG HAUL..... (and we can't die sooner, we still have things to do!!!!)

Send this to five phenomenal women today...they'll love you for it! I just did.

THEN, GO TO BED!

Bill To Outlaw Organic Farming Next Week

Subject: Monsanto: A bill to outlaw organic farming next week?

US House and Senate are about (in a week and a half) to vote on bill that will OUTLAW ORGANIC FARMING (bill HR 875). There is an enormous rush to get this into law within the next 2 weeks before people realize what is happening.

Main backer and lobbyist is (guess who) Monsanto (aspartame maker) - chemical and genetic engineering giant corporation. This bill will require organic farms to use specific fertilizers and poisonous insect sprays dictated by the newly formed agency to "make sure there is no danger to the public food supply". This will include backyard gardens that grow food only for a family and not for sales.

If this passes then NO more heirloom clean seeds but only Monsanto genetically altered seeds that are now showing up with unexpected diseases in humans.

There is a video on the subject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thE54K3PaTY
And another one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeWVkTU1s1E
The name on this outrageous food plan is Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (bill HR 875).
THIS IS REAL, FOLKS! PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL CONCERNED ON YOUR MAILING LISTS & CALL YOUR SENATE REPRESENTETIVES TODAY! Get on that phone and burn up the wires. Get anyone else you can to do the same thing. The House and Senate WILL pass this if they are not massively threatened with loss of their position.... They only fear your voice and your vote.

The best thing to do is go to <http://www.house.gov/writerep http://www.house.gov/writerep all you have to do is put in your zip and it will give you your congressperson and how to get in touch with them. When you call their office someone will answer the phone, just tell them (politely) that you are calling to express your views on HR 875. Tell them your views, they'll take your name and address and pass your comments along to the congressperson. I'm Tired (letter from Vietnam Veteran about our Country)

Robert A. Hall, MEd, CAE

March 16, 2009

I´ll be 63 soon. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce, and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I´ve worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven´t called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn´t inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there´s no retirement in sight, and I´m tired. Very tired.

I´m tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth around" to people who don´t have my work ethic. I´m tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy or stupid to earn it.

I´m tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I´m willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the leftwing Congresscritters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them—with their own money.

I´m tired of being told how bad America is by leftwing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the religious freedom and women´s rights of Saudi Arabia, the economy of Zimbabwe, the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Gay people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. Won´t multiculturalism be beautiful?

I´m tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor;" of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren´t "believers;" of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery;" of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur´an and Shari´a law tells them to.

I believe "a man should be judged by the content of his character, not by the color of his skin." I´m tired of being told that "race doesn´t matter" in the post-racial world of President Obama, when it´s all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U S Senators from Illinois. I think it´s very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the emancipation proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less in an all-knowing government.

I´m tired of a news media that thinks Bush´s fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama´s, at triple the cost, were wonderful. That thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress, that picked over every line of Bush´s military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his, that slammed Palin with two years as governor for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever.

Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn´t vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004.

I´m tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance.

I´m tired of being told I must lower my living standard to f ight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore´s, and if you´re greener than Gore, you´re green enough.

I´m tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don´t think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I´m tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana.

I´m tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren´t working, but are living on welfare or crime. What´s next? Calling drug dealers, "Undocumented Pharmacists"? And, no, I´m not against Hispanics. Most of them are Catholic and it´s been a few hundred years since Catholics wanted to kill me for my religion. I´m willing to fast track for citizenship any Hispanic person who can speak English, doesn´t have a criminal record and who is self-supporting without family on welfare, or who serves honorably for three years in our military. Those are the citizens we need.

I´m tired of latte liberals and journa lists, who would never wear the uniform of the Republic themselves, or let their entitlement-handicapped kids near a recruiting station, trashing our military. They and their kids can sit at home, never having to make split-second decisions under life and death circumstances, and bad mouth better people then themselves. Do bad things happen in war? You bet. Do our troops sometimes misbehave? Sure. Does this compare with the atrocities that were the policy of our enemies for the last fifty years—and still are? Not even close. So here´s the deal. I´ll let myself be subjected to all the humiliation and abuse that was heaped on terrorists at Abu Ghraib or Gitmo, and the critics can let themselves be subject to captivity by the Muslims who tortured and beheaded Daniel Pearl in Pakistan, or the Muslims who tortured and murdered Marine Lt. Col. William Higgins in Lebanon, or the Muslims who ran the blood-spattered Al Qaeda torture rooms our troops found in Iraq, or the Muslims who cut off the heads of schoolgirls in Indonesia, because the girls were Christian. Then we´ll compare notes. British and American soldiers are the only troops in history that civilians came to for help and handouts, instead of hiding from in fear.

I´m tired of people telling me that their party has a corner on virtue and the other party has a corner on corruption. Read the papers—bums are bi-partisan. And I´m tired of people telling me we need bi-partisanship. I live in Illinois, where the "Illinois=2 0Combine" of Democrats and Republicans has worked together harmoniously to loot the public for years. And I notice that the tax cheats in Obama´s cabinet are bi-partisan as well.

I´m tired of hearing wealthy athletes, entertainers and politicians of both parties talking about innocent mistakes, stupid mistakes or youthful mistakes, when we all know they think their only mistake was getting caught. I´m tired of people with a sense of entitlement, rich or poor.

Speaking of poor, I´m tired of hearing people with air-conditioned homes, color TVs and two cars called poor. The majority of Americans didn´t have that in 1970, but we didn´t know we were "poor." The poverty pimps have to keep changing the definition of poor to keep the dollars flowing.

I´m real tired of people who don´t take responsibility for their lives and actions. I´m tired of hearing them blame the government, or discrimination, or big-whatever for their problems.

Yes, I´m damn tired. But I´m also glad to be 63. Because, mostly, I´m not going to get to see the world these people are making. I´m just sorry for my granddaughter.

Robert A. Hall is a Marine Vietnam veteran who served five terms in the Massachusetts state senate.

Food For Thought

Everyone concentrates on the problems we're having in this country lately: illegal immigration, hurricane recovery, alligators attacking people in Florida.

Not me. I concentrate on solutions for the problems. It's a win-win situation.

Dig a moat the length of the Mexican border.

Send the dirt to New Orleans to raise the level of the levies.

Put the Florida alligators in the moat along the Mexican border.

Any other problems you would like for me to solve today ? Yes!

NOW...Think about this one:
1. Cows
2. The Constitution
3. The Ten Commandments

C O W S

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three
years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington?
And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

T H E C O N S T I T U T I O N

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

T H E 1 0 C O M M A N D M E N T S

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,'
and 'Thou Shall Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians.
It creates a hostile work environment.
