Maybe that's because there is no on-site stormwater management (detention, etc.) at the Civic Center. Runoff from the lots either goes to the stream in the park or onto the street. Private development can't get away with that!
I was in Delmar earlier this afternoon, the water on the streets was unreal. During the warnings we were home in Vienna. The storm was calmer during the warning period than it was earlier today while there were no warnings!
Wish I was a weatherman. It's the only job you can get away with being wrong all of the time. Tornado is certainly no laughing matter. Don't think I would have wanted to be landing a plane in the weather. 8:49 I agree. The storms were much worse earlier here. Live in the Powellville area. Almost 2 inches of rain from the first storm. This one just had lightening and not much rain.
I was driving south on 13 today in Eden area and the clouds there looked nasty-a few were more "vertical" than I would have liked to see, very scary weather.
We lost power for about an hour or so, thanks to the power guys for getting it back on. Good Work.
