Obama, Kratovil, Comegys - The Triple Threat of Economic Theory

Put a Democrat in government and what do you get - socialism.  Call it what you want, but government interference in the markets is socialism;  the picking of winners and losers either directly, indirectly or by queering the markets.

Living in Wicomico County, I have the dubious honor of observing three individuals who wish to play with the free market while showing less knowledge of economics than my 17 year old.  One man wishes to be our President.  One wishes to represent us in Congress.  The last wants to be the Mayor of Salisbury.

The ONE

Barack Obama is the "ONE".  He wishes to save us all by "spreading the wealth".  How?  Obama wishes to turn America into a welfare state unrivaled in our history.  Obama claims that 95% of Americans will receive a tax cut if he is elected.  That's a pretty mean trick given that 40% of Americans pay no income tax.   Read More ...

Gilchrest and Kratovil Both Voted for O'Malley

O'Malley is the glue that holds the liberal family together in Maryland

Annapolis - Yesterday Wayne Gilchrest declared he voted for Democratic Governor Martin O'Malley in 2006 giving just one more example of his tilt to the left.

Gilchrest and Kratovil's shared support for Martin O'Malley should come as no surprise. Martin O'Malley, Wayne Gilchrest, and Frank Kratovil share many of the same liberal policies. "O'Malley, Kratovil and Gilchrest support higher taxes, more wasteful government spending, and amnesty for illegal immigrants - that's liberal," said Chris Meekins, Harris Campaign Manager.

All three candidates have also stated they will be voting for Barack Obama on November 4th. In his primary campaign, Frank Kratovil campaigned throughout the district with Governor O'Malley by his side. "O'Malley is the glue that holds the liberal family together in Maryland," Meekins added.

Frank Kratovil has made clear whom he will represent in Congress stating, "I want to be an ally of the Governor (Martin O'Malley) in Washington." (Star Democrat, 6/7/2007)

"The last thing voters in the first district want is O'Malley Jr. - Frank Kratovil - in Congress" said Meekins. "Andy Harris will be the independent voice who will vote for lower taxes and less wasteful government spending in Congress."

Source: "During his speech, Mr. Gilchrest revealed a few interesting tidbits - including that he crossed party lines to vote for Gov. Martin O'Malley, a Democrat, two years ago."

Dog & Other Animal Legislation In Wicomico County

Today marks a pretty big day in Wicomico County as the County Council reviews a much awaited legislative package referencing what kind of standards will be set for pet owners in the County.

Last week a new Board met to decide what was to be with the fate of a Pit Bull that attacked a young child. The Board voted to put the animal down and the owners of the animal have appealed their decision. I'm told they have already made their decision but no one has confirmed it as of yet.

Today, I sat in with the County Council as they reviewed the 15 page document line item by line item. Thinks like collars came up. They stated they wanted people to get away from the choke collars and I firmly disagree. While you're training a dog, there are many times a choke collar works better than a standard collar. If they're any bit aggressive, the choke collar will not come off their head. A standard nylon collar will.

I have to look at the documents more to decide what I like and don't like but it's certainly a step in the right direction. The question is, will this new legislation be applied in the City of Salisbury as well? In other words, will the City adopt it. They have refused to follow the standards of the Graffiti Laws from the County to the City. Time will tell.

The Salisbury Kennel Club Holds Grand Opening

Structured Dog Classes will be held in this new facility for everyone to enjoy. Training your dog is the responsible thing to do and the Salisbury Kennel Club has been offering such classes for 55 years now.

Having a well trained dog makes a well rounded Family. Best Wishes To All.

McCain vs Obama

Barack Obama has put out an ad that simply reminded us John McCain cannot use a computer.

Well guess what ...

Barack cannot land a jet plane on an aircraft carrier at night.

HOW LONG DO WE HAVE BEFORE OUR DEMOCRACY ENDS?

About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.'

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.'

From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.'

The average age of the world's greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years'

During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:
1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;(somewhere along here we loose our nationalism)
6. From complacency to apathy; (The USA is here in 2008 and is headed to #7)
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage

Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul, Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:
Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29
Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000
Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million
Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

Professor Olson adds: 'In aggregate, the map of the territory Republicans won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country.

Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare...'

Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the 'complacency and apathy' phase Tyler 's definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation's population already having reached the 'governmental dependency' phase.

If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegals and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

If you are in favor of seeing the end to our country as we know it, then by all means, delete this message.

If you are not, then pass this along to help everyone realize just how much is at stake, knowing that apathy is the greatest danger to our freedom.

WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE

Courage is a door that can only be opened from the inside.........

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT...

This is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced.
From the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values.
We all need to be on our knees. Do you believe we can take God at His word?
Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold. His
scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to
call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do so. We have never been more
desperate than now for God to heal our land.

2 Chronicles 7:14 : If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble
themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then
will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people
who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute
to collectively pray for the safety of England , its people and peace. This had
an amazing effect as bombing stopped.

There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America . The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!! If you would like to participate: each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time, 8:00 PM Central,7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific, stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States , our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, for wisdom and courage for our leaders, the up-coming election, and that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.

If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along. Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.

Grief is the price you pay for LOVE
John 3:16

Maryland's Tax Ranking Plummets

RCNEBC UPDATE

Hold on to your wallet. Maryland's tax ranking under Martin O'Malley has plummeted from 24th to 45th in nation, according to a new report
from the Tax Foundation.

To view the report, visit: http://www.taxfoundation.org/files/bp58.pdf .

Maryland's disastrous tax policies are analyzed on page 5. Here are some highlight from the report:

-- Maryland ranks 45th overall, a drastic drop from its 24th rank last year.

-- Maryland lawmakers achieved this remarkable feat by raising most of the state's major taxes for FY 2009.

-- They raised the corporate income tax rate to 8.25% from 7%, the sales tax rate to 6% from 5%, and the cigarette excise tax to $2.00 from $1.00 per pack.

-- They also created four new income tax brackets, raising taxes on filers earning more than $150,000 per year.

-- Maryland's top personal income tax rate is now 6.25% (up from 4.75%); that's on top of a weighted average local option rate of 2.98%.

-- Maryland now has by far the worst personal income tax in the country, with a significantly lower score than second-place California.

-- All of Maryland's surrounding states - Pennsylvania, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia - are ranked higher than Maryland, meaning residents and businesses will continue their exodus out of Maryland to states that appreciate families, taxpayers, and small businesses.

By passing the largest tax increase in Maryland history on the verge of an economic downturn, O'Malley is essentially serving Jimmy Carter's 2nd term. Adding to the pressures we face, BGE customers are still paying the 72% electricity rate hike that O'Malley said he would to stop. As usual, O'Malley is pointing fingers and blaming George Bush for his own failures. Is that your definition of leadership? I didn't think so.

Question of the Day, Tue 10/21

McCain and Obama have stated that they are against gay marriage.

What's your belief on gay marriage? Should it be legal to marry? Should there be a prerequisite on gay marriage? Would your vote sway differently on this matter?
________________________________________________________________
Updated 10 a.m.-
After MANY comments this morning, maybe I should elaborate:
Would your vote sway differently on this matter? This pertains to the election. Let's say...you have a family member that's in a gay relationship (for farts and giggles), Obama was against gay marriage and McCain was for gay marriage. You were set to vote for Obama, however, you have since found out that he is against gay marriage. So, do you consider changing your vote to McCain?
I know this is an "attackable" subject. I knew this before I wrote it over a week ago. I did NOT answer the question. But if you would like for me to answer the questions, I'd be happy to.

Saturday Night Main Street Gym Results

Another weekend of boxing for the MSG . This week we were
at the Du Burns Arena, where the Baltimore Blast plays inside. Main St Gym went two for four as 12yr old Cory Moore lost a 3 round decision, much in the same manner
that 19yr old Morgan Rodriguez lost his debut bout on this same evening. Although there was good action through both bouts Moore and Rodriguez did not throw as many punches as their opponents which resulting in the losses.

New comer Andy Quinones, Main St Gym's 141lb novice continues to impress by winning two weeks in a row. "Andy is strong and we are constantly improving his weaknesses. " said coach Chernoff. Quinones's father is so impressed with his sons improvement, that when he travels back to the his home country of Puerto Rico. he has decided that his son will stay here to keep his training on schedule.

In the open Class heavyweight division , Alexis Guerrero kept the bout close in the first two round before taking it to another level in the third and fourth round, one that his Baltimore opposition could not hand. Guerrero landed hard shots with both hands for the full two minutes of the third and the fourth,

clinching a unanimous decision. Guerrero plans to fight a couple more armature events and look at the prospect of a future professional.
