Gore Vidal: Bush Ended U.S. As a Republic

US Novelist, Historian and Social Critic, Gore Vidal claims that America is now dead as a Republic. The evisceration of Habeas Corpus, the Bill of Rights, and any remnants of the legacy of the Magna Carta have been obliterated by the Bush Regime and taken away all Constitutional links that made America a Republic in the name of 'The War on Terror'.
Vidal was interviewed Friday morning Iran time on Press TV

Questions Needed

It's quite hard to think of good question everyday. I am quite a busy woman with running a business with my husband, have 2 kids out of school for the summer and 5 dogs that need endless attention...not to mention in the process of building a home.

I would love some input from our readers. Do you have a question or thought you would like to share with Salisbury News? I will not use your name or blogname if chosen.

Kratovil Adds New Campaign Manager

Staff addition comes on heels of “Red to Blue” Announcement

STEVENSVILLE, MD (June 26, 2008). Frank Kratovil’s Congressional Campaign today
announced the hiring of veteran campaign operative Tim McCann, who will take
over as campaign manager July 1. The hiring comes a week after Kratovil’s
campaign was elevated to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s “Red
to Blue” list, signifying the commitment of party leaders to make Maryland’s
1st District a top priority this year.

“I’m excited to have Tim coming on board. Our volunteer staff has done a great
job so far and I know they’ll continue to excel under his direction,” said
Frank Kratovil. “Tim’s background in competitive Congressional politics will
give us a big boost as our campaign continues to build momentum and draw
national attention.”

Kratovil was added to DCCC’s “Red to Blue” list last week, an indication that
the national party sees the 1st District as one of best opportunities to pick
up a GOP-held seat this election cycle. Inclusion on this list of targeted
races will help Kratovil attract financial and structural support from the
national party.

“I’m excited to be joining the Kratovil team,” said McCann. “This is going to
be one of the most hotly-contested races in the country this fall, and I’m
looking forward to helping Frank win in November. Frank will be the independent
voice in Washington that 1st District voters deserve and expect.

McCann, a 2003 Georgetown University graduate, comes to Kratovil’s campaign
with a background in campaign management and new media strategy. He has worked
on Democratic campaigns at the municipal, congressional, and statewide levels
and spent the 2006 election cycle serving as deputy campaign manager on the
gubernatorial campaign of Texas Democrat Chris Bell. McCann spent the two prior
cycles working for a Washington, DC political consulting firm specializing in
competitive swing-district Congressional races.

Question of the Day, Sat 6/28

This question brought to you by Sbynews reader, Ben:

What's your most embarrassing verbal slip of the tongue?

Ben said, "Saying Ockra instead of Oprah when talking to a table of her fans."

Personally mine (SunnyInOC) was mixing "circumcised" with "baptized." I was about 10. I asked my mom and dad if I had ever been circumcised. I knew as soon as I said it that I said the wrong word. Wow! I still get reminded every so often at age 31.

The City Of Salisbury Is A Pain In The GrAss

Joe,

First let me say I enjoy your page and I read it everyday. Thanks for keeping the good people of Salisbury informed about what is really going on in our city. I am writing about something that happened to me yesterday that just has me fuming and my first thought was your website.

I get home yesterday after work to find this wonderful pick slip attached to the front of my house, only to find a sweet note from the city complaining about grass growing between the cracks of their sidewalk......On and on about how its in violation of section 8.08 and on and on and on. Bottom line is please cut the weeds from your side walk cracks.

See How nice my yard looks!!!! See how much grass in the side walk we are talking about?

Now let me say, I am all about making our city look nice and I have NO problem doing my part. But please see the photo below of the house next door. This is their yard! and yep you guessed it no pink slip for them!.

See the Jungle I live beside! You gotta love it!

Thank you so much City of Salisbury for have your priorities straight! I am so glad you can see where your time really needs to be spent!

You will drive by today and see the grass in my cracks are removed and my neighbors yard keeps getting taller.

Thanks for the justice! and welcome to Salisbury

Yesterday Was National HIV Testing Day....The Bronx Want to Test Every Single Adult Resident

In celebration of National HIV Testing Day, the New York City Government has hatched an idea to implement an aggressive three year plan to test every adult within the Bronx Burrow.

According to the Time Herald-Record Manhattan has the highest Aids cases and the Bronx has the highest death rate. This is attributed to residents waiting too long before being tested and getting necessary treatment. Medical professionals are ready to start making it part of a routine intake just like a Blood Pressure and Temperature Check.

Many people feel it is a way to make a DNA data base on an historically poor and minority population. Especially those who feel HIV AIDS was developed by the Government to exterminate certain types of people.

If Maryland made it mandatory that you get a HIV test would you do it?
