Christy Freeman On Fox News

The O'Reilly Factor just featured the Christy Freeman case in which he had two attorneys debating the fact that the Maryland Law Sucks on this issue and they actually had nothing on her.

It is also rumored that there allegedly is a sexual harassment case forthcoming against Worcester County States Attorney Joel Todd by a former attorney working for that same Office.

Like I said, the Eastern Shore is no longer that sleeper neighborhood any more. We've hit the Big Time!

Why Is This Posted At The GOB?

As you attempt to enter the front doors at the GOB there is a sign on the doors asking you to register at the Front Desk. What front desk? I have been visiting the GOB for many years now and not once have I ever seen someone at a Front Desk, let alone instructed to sign in?

Perhaps someone could take this sign down now? Some people inside already look dumb enough without the help of this sign. And for the other 98% of you working in that building, I'm sorry but you know who I'm talking about. Now get off your computers and stop laughing so hard, you might get caught being on my site.

I'm No Firefighter!

I am not a Firefighter. I have no interest in ever being one. I don't claim to have all the information on how fire companies run or the personnel that run them. Being a taxpayer in both Maryland and Delaware and an "average Joe" out there looking in on Firefighter activities, I sometimes wonder about SOPs.

Before you Firefolks go for my throat, let me first say I agree that I would rather see too much rather than not enough fire equipment and personnel. But the other side of the coin is the tax dollars spent without concern for amounts spent and what I think some people would say is an over zealousness for the job.

Case in point, my wife was on the Salisbury Dive Team. She told me how when the pager went off everyone would scramble to get to the Dive truck before it took off without them. One such call came in February some years ago during a real cold snap. There was an elderly gentleman that had wondered away from the nursing home in the middle of the night and no one had caught it till the next morning. There was a small pond in front of the nursing home and the thought was that the man might have fallen into it. Well, the dive team was called out around 8 or 9 am and Jennifer barely managed to get in her car and up to Route 13 and here came the dive truck racing by with lights and sirens going. What she found odd about the whole thing, is that it took anywhere from 15-30 minutes to get two divers in the water in the first place. Rarely was the recovery effort any more than a recovery, not a rescue. So why race to the scene?

Now understandably no one on the planet wants to be waiting for an ambulance or a police car or a firetruck. But some effort should be placed on emergency responders about the emphasis on safety as well. I know it's a rock and a hard place but I would wonder how the family of that poor deceased woman feels about emergency personnel. I know it was an accident but as humans we have to make some attempt at trying to eliminate the chances of repeating a similar scenario.

Melanie Pepper on Bill Reddish at 7:30 Friday

Melanie was President of the Salisbury Jaycees twice and is currently the Maryland Jaycees Community Vice President. She will discuss the Christmas Day Parade situation on the Bill Reddish Show in more detail.

Is Going Nuts Cafe, NUTS?

Yahoo For Barrie Tilghman!

The Going Nuts Cafe has come out with a petition drive against the Christmas Day Parade down Mt. Hermon Road. That's right, they have some 80 people with the same hand writing, (?) who have signed a petition trying to fight the Salisbury Jaycees in an attempt to STOP the Christmas Day Parade from happening.

Not for nothing but I used to be in the Restaurant Business for many years and let me tell you Folks, this Parade is between 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and I don't care what these people say, they're NOT losing much of anything!

As a matter of fact, I'd personally use that as a marketing tool to invite as many people as I could get attending that Parade to come in and get a special discount for stopping in before or after the Parade.

Here's another thing about Going Nuts Cafe that is flat out stupid. The Jaycees tried to work with them as they hold a "Past Presidents Brunch" just before the event and they offered to bring ALL of that business to Going Nuts Cafe and they said, WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS! You know what then, UP YOURS!

The Mayor even offered to make a ramp from One Stop Job Parking Lot to their parking lot and they wanted nothing to do with it. Then, GET THIS, they challenged the Chamber of Commerce by stating they are supposed to support local businesses, yet Going Nuts Cafe isn't a member of the Chamber of Commerce! If you're going to talk the talk, walk the walk!

I'll add, Barrie Tilghman has chosen to stand her ground, even against the petition and the route will stay the same. It's very obvious that these people refused to work with the City in any way and there's something personal involved here. Going Nuts Cafe also claims they have 50 employees that live paycheck to paycheck and depend on all business coming through the door. Yeah, right, 50 people! Well, there's 50 signatures on that petition anyway, not including their spouses.

Great decision Barrie, for what it's worth.

The Mysterious Trusses

These are the three trusses that were obviously damaged, yet lying completely away from the collapsed building? The other interesting thing I found was the direction the Crane was positioned after the building collapsed. It was in the same direction these trusses were lying.

The article below describes more of what happened from this accident yesterday but there's no way these three trusses were damaged as bad as they are without them being a part of the accident itself. The fact that they're lying outside the accident area was a tell tale sign to me that they were involved, meaning the Crane was in fact in use by somebody?

Just an observation?

Well I'll Huff & I'll Puff & I'll Blow Your House In

Yesterday afternoon a building collapsed along Rt. 50 on John Deer Road near the Shorebirds Stadium. One person went to the Hospital while two others were injured and cared for on the scene.

As the first photo show what was supposed to be the end product, something went severely wrong. OSHA came aboard, (3rd photo) to investigate what just happened? The next to the last photos shows one of the workers hard hat still lying where the building collapsed on him. I'll just have to GUESS here and say that his HEAD is OK?

I personally found evidence that perhaps the crane was involved, yet they deny that being the case. Three trusses were very damages yet lying outside the wreckage as if the crane had still been attached to them and pulled them out after everything started collapsing. Granted, maybe someone who shouldn't have been using the crane was doing so after the main operator left, who knows? Buildings just don't fall like this one did without some help. OSHA will get to the bottom of it though.

Drive Much?

Although the garage door is clearly in the front of this building, some Dee, Dee, Deeee drove through the side instead. ROTFLMAO!

New Black & Whites Hit The Streets

With the newest technology available, the Wicomico County Sheriffs Department is ready to roll. The new cruisers hit the street yesterday all dressed out showing off a new look.

There's something VERY interesting about the environment there. As many of you know, I know most of the SPD Officers as well as the Sheriffs Deputies. When you are to ask each and every one of them how they like where they work, 100% of the Sheriffs Deputies go on and on about how proud they are to be there. The SPD, well, I get that look, a shake of the head from left to right and then silence. Need I say more?

Leadership isn't just about being the Boss. It's about being a brother first. It's about wearing the uniform with pride and it's about supporting your Staff 100%! Chiefy just doesn't understand why he has what he has, while wearing $600.00 suits and one yellow tie.

Overkill?

So here's an 800 sq. ft. home in the Salisbury/Hebron area that catches on fire. I believe it was a small kitchen fire. Nevertheless, I couldn't fit all the emergency vehicles into one picture for a couple of reasons. One, they kept coming and going and two, they were spread out too far to capture them, even at a distance.

That being said, who made the call to send out all of these tankers to put out a fire? Was it a three alarm fire? Is that how it works? One alarm for each Station, I don't know? There was Hebron, Mardella and Delmar at this fire.

Regardless, with all that went on (and nothing has been said) about the Hebron accident a COUPLE weeks ago, one would think they'd be more careful about sending out the troops when not necessary?

I know I'm going to get blasted over this but you know what, tough sh*t! There needs to be some kind of accountability while these people just go off and do whatever they so choose. Someone died recently because of, (IMO) the lack of leadership and control and I looked at this yesterday and I though, this is a Family Reunion. Even after the fire was out the Delmar Fire Department rolled in one of their big trucks and at least 10 minutes later you could hear the sirens from another one on the way. It turns out it was another loaded tanker of water from Delmar. I'd estimate it to be anywhere from 8 to 10 miles away and Hebron to have been 3 miles from this scene. The Delmar Tanker no sooner pulled up to this road, pulled in, backed up immediately and headed back home without ever getting out of the vehicle.

Again, I know you're going to knock me but this is not professionals! A professional knows how to manage a situation and IMO this is a reunion because there's nothing better to do and that can get people killed. Fortunately the animals were saved.

Call This Number NOW! UPDATE

There has been much said about the Bridge Tenders and closing the Rt. 50 Draw Bridge to regular traffic. The new rules will be that you have to call 4 hours in advance to get the Draw Bridge raised.

Here's the catch though. You see the number provided on this sign? The Daily Times had been forewarned about this number as it was a vital part of the Tenders story and the Times refused to say anything about it.

OK, let's say you were cruising the Wicomico River and wanted to get past the Bridge to the north end. You pull up to the first bridge tower and you call the telephone number they provided on that huge blue sign, You call, 410-742-7888. Go on, call it RIGHT NOW!

You see Folks, for the past year and a half now, Gary Comegys has been informed that this number IS NO GOOD! It rings alright. However, you see the tower just behind the sign? It rings there and guess what, NO ONE WORKS THAT TOWER ANY MORE!

Even though Gary has been informed of that, he did nothing and the SHA is responsible for fixing it. The Times said nothing about it because they never called the number, Idiots! Oh, maybe I'm wrong? Maybe they have been calling every day and they're still WAITING for someone to answer the line. Yes, it rings. No one is there to answer though.

So that brings us to, just how many times WOULD the Bridge have been raised in the past year and a half since Gary Comegys KNEW the number was no good? Just how interested is the Mayor in that property on the other side of the Bridge? Just what kind of advantage would it be to have less and less traffic traveling throughout there and they refused to change the number to a working number?

You know something Ladies & Gentlemen, no mater what anyone says about Blogs, we're making more of a difference for YOU than any other source around. When you look at all that we have touched on and the Times doesn't do so, there's a LOT of crap going on around Salisbury with far too many screw ups.

It's no wonder we're getting sued by the Mayor. This is a perfect example of on purpose screw up by that administration because I know for an absolute fact that Gary Comegys has known about that number being bad for years and he was regularly reminded of it along the way.

Call the number for the hell of it and watch it ring and ring and ring, just like the Salisbury Zoo and they have Staff there to answer the phones.

UPDATE: The Daily Times has corrected me on this story. It turns out in their second story about this matter they did in fact mention the telephone number. Here's what they said.......

from the story I mentioned --

The drawbridge director said a number of pleasure boats without radios need
the bridge to be opened throughout weekends depending on the tide and can't
get through without an operator standing watch. Right now, these boaters can
call a number posted on a sign that says, "Drawbridge Tenders." But the
phone number does not go to the tower where the operators are. The director
said this is typical of how SHA, which is responsible for the sign's
information, handles things.

When asked about the incorrect phone number, SHA district engineer Donnie
Drewer said fixing the sign must have "just slipped through the cracks." The
number goes to a tower on Main Street that is no longer manned, and hasn't
been for about a year.
