More Illegal Parking Downtown

Very few had tickets, (one) and the rest were able to park wherever they wanted to. I have taken pictures of close to a hundred illegally parked vehicles and they just didn't seem too interesting but today and yesterday were worse than normal. The BMW is a repeat daily offender. I've watched the ticket maid go right past that car multiple times. Must be a serious FOB.

There's no respect for parking around town and trust me, they're writing so many tickets each day they just can't keep up. I know I'm down there every day over the past month or so, I do not have a parking sticker and I have yet to park illegally. There's plenty of legal spaces to park in.

I'm Sorry But Watching Three Men Holding Hands In Downtown Salisbury Made Me Want To Throw Up!

Believe it or not, at one point these three men were holding hands, making sure everyone noticed them along the way.

I have a feeling I'm going to see a lot of attacks in reference to this post but guess what, I'm a straight man that simply doesn't believe and or accept this behavior and that's all there is to it. Like it or not, that's just me.

Now if it were three women I'd be asking for autographs! LMAO! It's amazing what we accept and don't accept but today was a shock to my eyes and completely unexpected. I never thought of Salisbury as Key West.

Perhaps They Didn't Recognize The Address Properly?

As I toured the Downtown area again today I found this same trash can I posted yesterday full of trash outside the GOB, (Government Office Building). Oh, that's right, it's Friday, isn't it?

So if the City won't clean up their own mess, why should all those restaraunts dumping crap all over the place as well? Now it's starting to make sense to me.

Today's Wildlife Photo

Since there's no grass in the pasture and no hay for these guys, they choose to stick their necks out and get whatever is left just outside the fence. This Ranch has all their fencing chewed apart and replace a good 50% of their boards every year because their horses chew away at the wood from the lack of hay and feed. However, they get their boarding fees and I can assure you, they're making money.

Another Vehicle Broken Into Downtown

It looks like last night was a busy night for criminals Downtown. I have yet to get any kind of report on this one but I did notice the broken vehicle glass on the ground. It's no wonder no one can get auto insurance if you live Downtown!

More Vandalism On The Plaza Last Night

Some time after midnight someone went on a rampage and busted up this cast iron bench, a brick wall and some landscaping blocks near Parker Place at the West end of the Plaza.

Idiots!

The Grapevine Is Crap!

It always cracks me up to read the Grapevine in The Daily Times each and every day.

It's the perfect place for Barrie Tilghman, Gary Comegys, Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart and Shanie Shields to promote their own agenda items, mainly the old Salisbury Mall.

Mike Dunn had stated quite some time ago that he knew of at least a hundred supporters for that project and Lynn stated she could barely make it through the new Mall without tons of people confronting her telling her they too supported the project.

The funny thing is, where have "all" these people been over the past year or more? None of them have "ever" made it to a City Council Meeting and certainly none of them were there recently at the County Council Meeting when that Council dumped the entire TIF idea.

I guess my entire point here is, don't ever be fooled that "most" of these political Grapevine attacks aren't those mentioned above, because it more than likely is. If it wasn't, then they'd put in a letter to the editor and put a name to their beliefs.

You Missed One!

The New Public Works Trash Colloction Company for Downtown Salisbury missed a trash can yesterday. It makes me wonder though, why would this can be so full in one day? Oh well, it's nice to see whatever it is in the trash can and not all over the ground.

The Salisbury Police Department Is Everywhere!

One thing is for sure, Downtown Salisbury is one safe place to be right now! With all the patrols going on right now, uniform and under cover, the City is going all out to assure our safety.

That being said, Public Safety is #1 with the new Candidates running for City Council, as it should be! Better pay is their first priority, unlike Dunn & Comegys refusing to give them the proper raise last year!

That mistake has cost the City in a VERY BIG WAY! There's a line almost daily for Salisbury City Police lining up at Mike Lewis' door and Chief Webster has had no choice but to become as close a friend to Mike Lewis as humanly possible. He doesn't want to lose any more men. Hopefully Mike can clearly see the politics Webster is playing?

Nevertheless, before we lose all of these Officers to the State Police and County Sheriffs Department, these Candidates will do what Mike Dunn & Gary Comegys refused to do because they're Idiots!

How much money do you want to bet these two Idiots will now talk about giving raises to the Police Department simply because they're desperate to keep up with the up and coming new Council Members? Last year said it all Idiots. You do NOT support your local Police and would rather give raises to the Fire Department because there are more of them than there are Police Officers.

Don't think for a minute these Fire Fighters don't consider the Police their BROTHERS and in the end will support the Police Department and where their vote will be heading! If you're NOT going to support the same income for the City Police Department as the County and State Police, get out of the race right here and now. Also expect to get BLASTED by me for the rest of the campaign period!

Public Safety Is Priority One!

A Gentleman In Public Works

This gentleman stepped up to the plate when the owner, (female) of this vehicle needed to leave her parking space but did not know how to back up.

The Public Works Truck had blocked off the Plaza and she couldn't drive forward to get out, so this gentleman offered to back the vehicle up for her. Now here's the catch. When he backed it up enough for her to get out he came to me and said, "Joe, would you believe that car has censors that tell you while you're backing up if you're getting too close to something?" We laughed it off and I thanked him for being such a gentleman.

One Person Can Make A Difference

I was reading Delmarva Dealings this morning and could see where they mentioned my services in the City and the fact that one person could make a difference.

The photos above show lamps burned out and then being replaced. Showing them on this Blog Site has certainly made a difference. It may seem small to some of you but when your daughter is walking the Plaza and there's a dark spot perfect for a criminal to pop out of and attack her, you'll give a damn than and it won't be such a small thing either.

I'll add, I've been in that Plaza area for weeks now and I can assure you, there are plenty of desperate people walking day in and day out through that area. I have been asked numerous times for cash and I have watched people stealing cash right out of the fountains.

Anything we can all do to make Salisbury a safer area to live and work is the right thing to do. I don't know who's watching this Blog Site within the GOB and I don't know who's directing certain people to get their job done but the jobs are getting done and I have to clearly admit they're getting done very quickly.

Gail Bartkovich Is In Your Face!

Ladies & Gentlemen,

This woman is my new hero! Talk about a person who is on the ball and not afraid to speak up! Gail woke up Tom Ruark & Co. like they have never been woken up before. The alarm went off and Gail clearly proved she wasn't falling for their BS!

Mr. Ruark tried producing plans with a water tower in it but "NO" building beside it that goes along with a water tower. Tom stumbled a bit, (quite a bit actually) and then stated there was plenty of room and Gail once again barked back, no there's not Mr. Ruark.

Gail proved she had been to the Riddle Farm Plant as well as many others similar to what Mr. Ruark was trying to propose and she wasn't falling for "any" crap. It will send Mr. Ruark back to the drawing board because he did NOT get the approval he wanted.

One official there told me that the entire project "will never get final approval" and Mr. Ruark is dreaming. Considering the County Council tabled any more community water and sewer systems, Ruark doesn't have any chance in getting this thing through anyway.

At the tail end of things Mr. Ruark could clearly see he wasn't getting anywhere so he threw out another bone, "I'll gift 75 acres of land to the County but a good portion of it must be used for spray irrigation." The 75 acres was to please the Board in an offering to propose a Middle School for this area.

Gail & Lynn voted no to going forward with this proposal.

Where's My Damn Benches?

Yesterday, while visiting the Planning & Zoning Meeting I decided to go outside the room to sit in a more comfortable seat when I came to realize the benches were gone!

Not for nothing Folks but recently there have been so many people attending these meetings that the stools outside the room were also full because there was no seats inside.

So one of a few things is going on here. Possibly Barrie is pissed off that too many people are showing up for these meetings? They're having them refinished? They're having the carpets cleaned? IMO, they saw the other building getting its carpet replaced so my money says they're going to replace the carpet and charge the taxpayers more money to operate this building.

Time will tell, I guess?

John Harris Makes It Official

Mr. John Harris officially paid his dues yesterday and officially signed up to run for City Council.

Could this have been another one of Barrie Tilghman's huge mistakes? You see, Mr. Harris asked to be a member of the Zoo Commission and Barrie "NEVER" sent back a letter and or ever responded to his request.

Now the man, (a good man at that) has a fair chance at winning this thing and could become Barrie's worse enemy! One thing you'll learn about John is, he tells it like it is and he's not afraid to speak out about what's important to him.

I can see it now. Barrie throws one of her fits and starts screaming and yelling and she confronts John and he'd say, Oh shut up and quit wining. Talk to someone who's willing to listen and get the hell out of my personal space before I treat you like a man.

Does Barrie have "any" friends left, or has she burned every bridge there is to burn?
