That's why you have a "Traffic" vehicle. Heck, the brush truck could carry the equipment needed for those measly chores.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31586983.post-66826300646663253532013-07-27T14:17:59.818-04:002013-07-27T14:17:59.818-04:00Anonymous said...

How many times of these was a fire truck sent?

July 27, 2013 at 9:42 AM

Only 2 would actually result in an engine response and they would be the 2 false alarms. Most MVC's or car accidents do not require a fire engine response and most police agencies don't want them there because they hinder traffic in both directions and their investigation.

I can tell you the fire engine responses are not needed or required. It's just an opportunity to run the calls up to justify hiring more people.

The more people you have working under you the more salary you can demand.

July 27, 2013 at 11:35 AM

Anon 11:35 AM the fire engine that goes on accidents plays several roles while there.

1 They provide a safe scene of operation by placing the fire engine in such a manner to keep on-coming traffic from interfering with the scene which also free's up the investigating police agency from traffic control so that they can devote their attention to accident investigation.

2 They assist the EMS crew in packaging and removing the patients from the vehicle.

3 They are there to control any/all hazards so the EMS crew can work safely while also doing whatever is necessary to protect the victims.

4 When victim are trapped they are there to use the jaws of life to cut the vehicle away from the victim.

5 When a helicopter is necessary to transport the injured to the hospital they provide fire suppression for the landing zone.

There is this thing called liability that comes in to play in either instance when the patient (s) must wait for the fire engine to be called for only after the ambulance arrives. That makes it necessary and shows a common sense and proactive approach to patient/scene safety.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31586983.post-43182338218350062042013-07-27T13:53:16.920-04:002013-07-27T13:53:16.920-04:00joe ablero you have to be the biggest idiot around...joe ablero you have to be the biggest idiot aroundAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31586983.post-82508185241233811402013-07-27T12:17:12.789-04:002013-07-27T12:17:12.789-04:00Rick Hoppes is not qualified to be a fire choef. They'll probably hire MORE instead, just to prove to the public they can and will do anything they so choose.
