'You know nothing about the real world': Ricky Gervais tells Golden Globe winners not to make political speeches

Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais kicked off the 77th annual awards show by telling the night's soon-to-be winners not to use their acceptance speeches to make political statements.

"So, if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech, right?" the actor and comedian said during his opening monologue. "You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.

He added, "If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your God, and f--- off."

    1. All those Hollywood actors are just that, "actors". They know nothing except what they are told to read and say. They are not powerful people, just sheep following Mary around. I look up to none of them. They are not heroes of any sort, just actors.

  8. Northwest Woodsman: My sentiments exactly. Hollywood is populated by a bunch of pretenders who have no idea what the real world is and what it takes to function effectively in it. They are naive, sheltered, protected, idolized and as a result, they think that their opinions are of some validity. Most are uneducated trash who think that if they can play a role they are actually relevant. Sad that there are actually voters that listen to what they have to say.

  9. I recorded the censored video and the uncensored audio to create an unedited video as they are cleansing the net of it. It is one of the greatest pieces of television history to ever come.

The best part is how they could only laugh along awkwardly as he called them vacuous pedophiles and dipshits with no way to stop him mid show from hosting.

    Nothing he said were jokes.

  10. He did a "roast" of the attendees. It's what he's good at, and what he's known for. No one should be surprised.

  11. Nah, that's not a roast. That was an indictment of their entire community. He's finished as a host and he knows it which is why he didn't care. He's probably finished in Hollywood but again I don't think he cares.
