First Woman President
I searched Presidents Trump twitter page and could not find this tweet. It's still funny. Had it been a real tweet I'm sure some would have really melted down.
WHITEHAVEN & UPPER FERRIES HOURS OF OPERATION CHANGE
Salisbury, MD … Starting May 16, 2019, the Whitehaven and Upper ferries will be changing their summertime hours of operation to operating from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (May 16th through September 15th). Historically, the ferries have operated 6:00 AM - 7:30 PM during the summer, however, traffic counts have shown that 95% of the ferry usage occurs between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. The revised hours of operation will maximize the ferry usage while reducing the cost to run the ferry. Operation during the other seasons will remain unchanged.
Why Should States That Protect Illegal Immigrants Be Rewarded With More Political Power?
Alabama has filed an unprecedented but little-noticed lawsuit against the U.S. Census Bureau. If the state wins, it could have major political ramifications and restore fundamental fairness in political representation in Congress.
Alabama is arguing that by including illegal immigrants in its count of the population, the Census Bureau deprives the state – and other states with low numbers of illegal immigrants – of representation in the U.S. House of Representatives, as well as votes in the Electoral College that determine who is elected president.
Conversely, the lawsuit argues, the practice of counting illegal immigrants in the census gives states that protect them (California, for example) seats and votes they are not entitled to have.
The 14th Amendment to the Constitution provides that representatives in the House “shall be apportioned among the several States … according to their respective Numbers,” with the “Numbers” determined by “counting the whole number of persons in each State.”
After every census, House seats are reapportioned according to the population of each state. Electoral College votes are reapportioned according to the number of each state’s congressional representatives.
Alabama is right about the unfairness of the current system. Illegal immigrants, by definition, have no right to be in this country. It is unjust to allow states to gain a political advantage over other states by flouting federal immigration law.

Study: Men with beards carry more germs than dogs do
(KUTV) — Beards may be totally "in," but they are also dirty, and hazardous to human health according to a study.
Scientists discovered men with beards have more germs in their hairs than dogs carry in their fur.
A new study found that every sample of beard hair collected was crawling with bacteria. Nearly half had bugs and bacteria considered hazardous to human health, the Daily Mail reports. The dogs tested had lower levels of microbes, a bacterium that causes disease.
Scientists initially wanted determine if humans could pick up a dog-borne disease from an MRI scan that was also used for examinations by veterinarians. Researchers took swabs from beards of 18 men, ages 18 to 76, and the necks of 30 dogs.

California educator warns of 'far-left' agenda being pushed on kids in classrooms
A California teacher who sued the state's teachers' association has claimed that unions are working with far-left groups to push and fund their "political agenda" on kids in public schools.
Rebecca Friedrichs, the author of "Standing up to Goliath," and educator of 28 years is now telling fellow teachers across the nation about the unions and their right to opt out of funding.
"What's shocking," Friedrichs told "Fox & Friends" Tuesday morning, "is teachers have no idea. People think teachers are these far-left people pushing this stuff. That is a lie. Most teachers are good, loving people... but we are being used by very powerful organizations - teachers unions collect about $5 billion tax-free every year from teachers - and they use that money to put their social, sexual, and political agenda into our schools."
The pro-life Christian educator said she was forced for almost three decades to fund the teachers union.

Yes, Representative Ilhan Omar Somebody DID Do Something! An Open Letter.
Rep. Ilhan Omar,
Please stop with the dramatic theatrics. Please also tell your attack hounds Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Rashida Tlaib to stop lying.
Americans publicly disputing your actions and words does not on its face demonstrate a public safety threat towards you. If there is evidence of a specific, valid, and violent threat against you please report such to the appropriate authorities.
Someone in the President’s camp deciding to side-by-side your unfortunate expression with vivid proof of what took place on the worst day in American history is not a threat to you in anyway—except perhaps—and quite appropriately—in your race for re-election.
The tweet and video of your words being interspersed with the falling towers and the smoking Pentagon on that day of horror, is fair, legal, and protected speech. Furthermore it had the benefit of starkly contrasting your lamentable attitude and casual behavior with the cold, vivid truth of the day that saw the American life and psyche change forever.
If you prefer not to be included in such controversy—stop wading into it. No one forced you to take an honorarium from CAIR. Your characterization was callous. Your facts were grossly inaccurate. And your attempt to deflect criticism on to the words of President Bush standing atop the rubble of the towers or the tweeted video of President Trump, when understood in context, reveal to us a continuing picture of who you are in your most core anti-Semitic & anti-American self.

Pelosi Talks About Her Great Leadership Abilities But Trump Quickly Brings Her Back To Reality
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) appeared on "60 Minutes" on Sunday to talk about the wide range of issues. Not surprisingly, Pelosi used the spotlight to talk about the "great work" the Democrats have done since they've retaken the House. Translation: she used the time to talk about how great her and her leadership is.
"The power of the Speaker is to set the agenda. We didn't have a Speaker that would bring a gun bill to the floor. We didn't have a Speaker that would bring a DREAMers issue to the floor," Pelosi said, referencing former Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI). "We do now. And that's a very big difference. The power of the Speaker is awesome. Awesome."

Tim Tebow is one final step from MLB
Tim Tebow was 18 years old, in green shorts and a gray T-shirt, walking from left field toward home plate for an offseason chat. He'd come to meet with his high school baseball coach, Greg Mullins, after school. Something's wrong, Mullins thought as Tebow approached. "Can we talk?" Tebow asked, and they moved to the dugout bench.
It was 2005, and Tebow, not yet a celebrity, had plotted out his future. His voice wavered. A few minutes into the conversation, Tebow shed a tear. He wouldn't play his senior season of baseball. He had decided to enroll early at Florida to pursue a football career.
"One of the hardest decisions I ever made was choosing to go football over baseball," Tebow said this month of that day at Nease High School in Florida, just south of Jacksonville. "It's an itch I've always had and a passion I've always had, and it didn't go away after years."
It's been 13 and a half years since the day Tebow's baseball career ended. Well, could have ended. Now, just weeks into year three of a rise through the minors, Tebow is one step from the major leagues. One step from his ultimate dream, which he set out for after his professional football career ended. While his foundation was growing and he was working as an ESPN college football analyst, he considered how the rest of his life would go. Maybe he'd give his "first love" another try. Maybe he'd try to play in the majors.
As his baseball odyssey extends into this spring, the question is how he'll handle the pitching for the Class AAA Syracuse Mets. The task at hand: cut down on strikeouts, hit for power, track down fly balls in the outfield. In Class AA, he struck out in more than 30 percent of his at-bats, but he hit a respectable .273. Through nine games this season, he's 5 for 31 with 13 strikeouts.

'A national crisis': Three veterans commit suicide outside VA hospitals across five days in two different states
Three U.S. military veterans have taken their own lives within five days of one another at VA facilities in Georgia and Texas.
29-year-old Gary Pressley was discovered inside a car in the parking lot of Carl Vinson VA Medical Center in Dublin, Georgia on April 5.
Pressley was found with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was pronounced dead at 8.45pm, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
He had been medically discharged in 2012 after a car accident but had been struggling with his mental health ever since.
Concerned family members, including his mother, Machelle Wilson, told WMAZ-TV that his sister called the VA to tell them her brother was threatening suicide.

Race in America — A Black Conservative Analysis
The latest study from Pew Research Center suggests that blacks and whites in America are not on the same page when it comes to race relations.
The survey results are dismal, with more than 80% of black respondents reporting that slavery still continues to impact their position in America today. Seventy-eight percent of black people reported that our nation hasn’t done enough to put them on equal footing with their white counterparts.
When asked if black people will ever achieve equal rights someday, 50% of black respondents agreed that racial equality isn’t likely, though only 7% of white people thought the same.
This gap in faith is staggering and suggests that significantly more white people believe racial reconciliation is possible, though half of black people do not.

Dallas will no longer prosecute 'petty crimes'
Is this the face of criminal justice "reform"?
Dallas County district attorney John Creuzot is enacting sweeping changes to the way his office deals with crime. It appears that Creuzot will be giving petty criminals a pass.
Creuzot will "decriminalize" most petty crimes against property, reform the bail system, and refuse to prosecute first-time drug offenders.

Sanctuary Cities Welcome Illegal Aliens with ‘Open Arms’ While 38K American Veterans Remain Homeless
Sanctuary cities across the United States are responding to President Donald Trump’s threat to bus border crossers and illegal aliens to their jurisdictions, saying they plan to welcome all illegal immigration with “open arms” despite soaring homelessness problems.
Last week, Trump threatened to bus border-crossers and illegal aliens into sanctuary cities and states, like California and New York City, if the country’s asylum laws were not changed. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Sunday confirmed that the White House is considering the plan.
In interviews with the Daily Beast, sanctuary city mayors from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Chicago, Illinois; and Cambridge, Massachusetts, said their jurisdictions would be happy to welcome all illegal aliens.
In total, there are more than 550,000 American residents who are homeless nationwide. Meanwhile, the U.S. admits more than 1.5 million illegal and legal immigrants every year — the overwhelming majority of which are low skilled workers who compete for jobs against America’s poor, working, and middle class. The Washington, DC-imposed mass immigration policy drives housing costs up for Americans, economists have found.

Students, alumni outraged, 'shaking' after Vice President Pence invited to give commencement
Vice President Mike Pence is getting push back from Taylor University students and alumni after the small evangelical Christian school tapped the former Indiana governor to be this year's commencement speaker.
Over 3,300 people have signed a change.org petition to get Pence's invitation to the mid-May commencement ceremony rescinded, claiming the "Trump-Pence Administration's policies" are "not consistent with the Christian ethic of love we hold dear."
One Taylor grad said the school, "should be ashamed...I am physically shaking...I feel personally attacked," but not all alumni agree and Taylor officials said they are standing by their decision.
Kevin Holtsberry, a Taylor alumnus, told "Fox & Friends" Monday morning the outraged alumni and students are mistaking disagreement on political issues with personal attacks, while also thanking the school for "standing firm" and not pulling Pence's invitation.

Politicians look to separate Chicago from Illinois to create 51st state
The so-called "Second City" may eventually become the next state, after frustration regarding Chicago's influence over politics in Illinois.
A group of state Republican lawmakers recently signed on to legislation proposing the nation's third-largest city become the 51st state.
"It's more of a frustration of the policies than the true belief that Chicago and Illinois would be better off as separate states," Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer told the State Journal-Register. "I don't believe that Chicago and the state of Illinois should be separated. Our relationship is mutually beneficial."

California Man Arrested for Possession of Over 200 Pounds of Marijuana – Dagsboro
Dagsboro – The Dagsboro Police Department with the assistance of the Delaware State Police have charged 57 year old, Charles Mulvihill of Ukiah, California with multiple drug related offenses as a result of a traffic stop in Dagsboro, on Sunday afternoon.
On Sunday, April 14, 2019 at approximately 1:36 p.m., an officer from the Dagsboro Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a tan Ford F-250 pick-up truck with California tags on DuPont Blvd., in the limits of Dagsboro, after it was determined that the operator was driving with a suspended California drivers license. The officer made contact with Mulvihill, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who confirmed that his license was not valid and that he had no proof insurance for the vehicle. It was also determined that the vehicle was supposed to be equipped with an ignition interlock device, which it was not.
A subsequent search of the passenger compartment of the vehicle produced a prescription bottle containing oxycodone pills which were not prescribed to Mulvihill along with an electronic money counter, several ledgers and $1000.00 cash, which was concealed under the dashboard. A search of the bed of the truck produced six large duffel bags, concealed under a tarp, which Mulvihill advised contained marijuana. Further inspection confirmed that within the duffel bags were 98 vacuum sealed bags which contained various quantities of marijuana, with a total weight of approximately 212.09 pounds.
Mulvihill was taken in to custody without incident, and then he and the vehicle, were both transported to Troop 4, at which time the Delaware State Police Sussex Drug Unit assisted with the investigation. During a more thorough search of the vehicle, detectives discovered a large military style ammunition box, which had been welded to the undercarriage of the truck. The box proved to contain $276,570.00 in cash which was packaged in multiple plastic bags.
Mulvihill was charged with the following, before being committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $81,701.00 secured bail.
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Tier 5 Quantity
- Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance
- Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Driving without a Valid License
- No Proof of Insurance
- Driving without an Interlock Device

Mike Rowe: The college admissions scandal is 'outrageous,' but the real crime is the cost of education
Television host and author Mike Rowe believes that the American people should be just as outraged with the skyrocketing cost of higher education as they are with the celebrities exposed in the college admissions cheating scandal.
Rowe, who is best known for his Discovery Channel show "Dirty Jobs," also argues in favor of more vocational jobs and said that "not everyone has to go to college" during an appearance on "Fox & Friends" on Friday.
He was responding to questions regarding the scandal which has ensnared Hollywood, leaving actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman facing jail time for bribing university employees to get their children into good schools.

Judicial Watch Uncovers ‘Cover-Up’ Discussions in Latest Production of Clinton Email Documents
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it uncovered 422 pages of FBI documents showing evidence of “cover-up” discussions related to the Clinton email system within Platte River Networks, one of the vendors who managed the Clinton email system. The documents also show Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) Charles McCullough forwarding “concerns” about classified information in former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s emails.
The new documents uncovered by Judicial Watch also contain Clinton’s 2009 classified information Non-Disclosure Agreement bearing her signature.

2 More Terrorist Plots Show How a Proactive Approach Is Vital to Combating Terrorism
In the past few weeks, the U.S. uncovered two more terrorism plots against the U.S. homeland, raising to 109 the number of such plots or attacks since 9/11.
While ISIS has been defeated in Syria and Iraq, its vile ideas live on, encouraging others to pursue terrorism.
Terrorism plot 108: Rondell Henry of Germantown, Maryland, was for years following ISIS online, stoking a hatred for those who were not Muslim.
On March 26, he reportedly walked out of his workplace in the middle of his shift looking to do harm. He did not have any fighting skills, but he saw how vehicular attacks like the one in Nice, France, in July 2016 could harm a lot of people.
So, Henry is said to have tracked down a U-Haul van and stole it, driving it around the Washington, D.C., area looking for targets, arriving at Washington Dulles International Airport at 5 a.m. That early in the morning, the airport was not very busy, so he parked the vehicle and went inside.

Valerie Jarrett’s book is number 1,030 on Amazon, but is on the NYT Best Seller list
Valerie Jarrett, a top adviser to former President Barack Obama, published a book that ranks dismally on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble, but was placed on The New York Times Best Seller list.
Anomalies around the book’s sales figures in industry databases have some in the book business questioning whether Jarrett, who’s rumored to have received a million-dollar-plus advance, paid a company to game the numbers.
Her book, which was published April 2, is number 1,030 on Amazon’s list of top sellers and has only three reviews on the site. It similarly ranks 1,244 on Barnes and Noble where signed copies are being sold for less than the suggested retail for unsigned copies.
Yet the book was also 14th on the NYT bestseller list.
“Given the organic sales of that book and the fact that during the entire week of roll-out it barely cracked the top 100 on Amazon, there’s no way the book should have a place on the NYT Best Seller list. Inconceivable,” one prominent book industry insider, speaking on condition of anonymity, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “There’s likely an effort to game the system, it’s the only explanation.“

President Trump's campaign raised more than $30 million in the first quarter of 2019, it is set to report on Monday, CBS News confirms, topping the sum raised by the top two Democratic presidential campaigns combined, according to a campaign official.
Trump-Pence 2020 has more than $40.8 million on hand — a record haul for a presidential re-election campaign this far before the next election.
Nearly 99 percent of donations were of $200 or less, with an average donation of $34.26, a sum that puts the president on par with the small-dollar donations made to Democratic contenders.

Charges dropped against woman accused of assaulting Kellyanne Conway at Bethesda eatery
ROCKVILLE, Md. (ABC7) — The Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office has dropped all charges against the woman accused of physically assaulting Kellyanne Conway at a Bethesda Mexican restaurant.
Mary Inabinett, 63, of the 3900 block of Underwood Street in Chevy Chase, Maryland, had been facing charges of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct stemming from the Oct. 14 incident at Uncle Julio's restaurant in downtown Bethesda.
In February, Conway — a close counselor to President Donald Trump — detailed the alleged attack during an exclusive interview with CNN. Conway explained she was at a birthday party with her daughter when Inabinett approached the table, grabbed her arms from behind and shook her while screaming "shame on you!" Conway described Inabinett as "out of control" and believed the exchange was politically motivated.
"She ought to pay for that because she has no right to touch anybody," Conway told CNN at the time. She put her hands on me. I said, 'Get your hands off of me!'"

BALTIMORE —Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh will begin a third week of absence from City Hall on Monday after taking leave to recover from pneumonia.
U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin was guarded Sunday in his opinion of whether Pugh should step down.
"That's going to be up the people of Baltimore, it's up to Mayor Pugh. What I am focused on with the federal delegation is making sure that we do everything we can to help Baltimore," Cardin said.
Pugh remains on leave while under investigation for her business dealings selling children's books.

Family: Female student expelled for kneeing boy in the groin while in girls' bathroom
(KUTV) — A female student has reportedly been expelled from her high school after she kneed a boy in the groin while he was part of a group blocking her from leaving the girls' bathroom.
Seven boys entered the girls' restroom at North Pole High School in Alaska to protest a selfie taken in a boys' bathroom by a student transitioning from female to male. The male students, in protest to the transgender student's selfie, intended to do the same in the girls' bathroom that was occupied by the student. The transgender student and the student expelled were not connected in any way.
The female student was blocked from leaving and felt threatened. Alaska state Rep. Tammie Wilson, a Republican from North Pole, criticized the discipline against the girl and said it sent the wrong message and wanted to let them know she supported them.
"If you ever feel threatened for your safety, whatever force you think you have to give, I will stand behind you. And so will your community. Not for those boys who were where they didn’t belong," she told the Washington Post.

Trump: Migrants Will Go to 'Sanctuary Cities'
President Donald Trump said Monday that his proposal to send migrants to so-called sanctuary cities is taking effect.
Trump tweeted:
"Those Illegal Immigrants who can no longer be legally held (Congress must fix the laws and loopholes) will be, subject to Homeland Security, given to Sanctuary Cities and States!"
It was unclear, however, whether the Department of Homeland Security is taking any steps to implement the contentious plan.

Breaking Down Taxes by the Numbers
Tax Day — or as we in our humble shop have long dubbed it, Income Redistribution Day — is upon us.
In recognition of this dubious date, here’s a brief look at where the federal government spends the well-in-excess-of $3 trillion in taxes it is expect to collect this year.
Some 52% of the federal budget will be spent on the government’s four largest wealth-redistribution programs, better known as Medicare, Medicaid, ObamaCare, and Social Security. Another 16% will be spent on income-security programs, which include veterans’ benefits, food- and housing-assistance programs, retirement for federal employees, and disability programs. (An important note: There’s a huge distinction between money provided for veterans, or even citizens who’ve involuntarily contributed to what they’ve been told is a retirement system, and money given to people who choose not to work.) Combined, that’s more than is spent on national defense.
Speaking of defense spending, one of the few federal expenditures actually enumerated in the Constitution will consume just 15% of the budget. Another 8% of the budget will go to pay the interest on the ever-growing $22 trillion national debt.

TALKING TO TEENS ABOUT ALCOHOL AWARENESS
(Salisbury, MD) During the month of April, health organizations raise awareness about alcohol abuse and recovery as well as highlight tips on preventing alcohol abuse in recognition of Alcohol Awareness Month.
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism notes that students, especially those on college campuses, engage in drinking excessive amounts of alcohol in a short period of time also known as binge drinking. An estimated 37.9% of students binge drink. In Wicomico County, 2016 data shows that 12.7% of local students engage in binge drinking.
Helpful Tips for Talking with Teens about Alcohol
The Wicomico County Health Department is also holding focus groups with local teens, young adults (college-aged), and their parents to create a media campaign about binge drinking. This campaign would spread awareness about what binge drinking is and how to prevent it. Teens, young adults, and parents of teens/young adults interested in participating in these focus groups, should contact Cindy Shifler at (410) 219-7544.
If you or someone you love is struggling with an alcohol abuse disorder, you can find help at www.aa.org or by calling the Wicomico County Health Department’s Addictions Program at (410) 742-3784. Helpful Tips for Talking with Teens about Alcohol
1. Talk candidly about alcohol, set expectations, and enforce rules. If you suspect binge drinking, talk to the person directly. Be objective, don’t shame them.
2. Set realistic consequences and follow through on your ultimatum.
3. Help your teen find alternatives by helping them connect with supportive peers that don’t drink.
4. Model appropriate behavior yourself – Don’t overindulge and don’t model alcohol as a stress reliever. Don’t provide alcohol to those underage.

The Wild West photos that were colorized in the 1880s, 100 years before Photoshop was invented, show the harsh reality of the Colorado Gold Rush
Fascinating color images from 120 years ago capture what life was really like in the Wild West and reveal the harsh reality of the Gold Rush-era.
Stunning color images dating from just before the turn of the 19th century depict a rugged cowboy brandishing a lasso, a thoughtful miner enjoying a smoke in the doorway of a dug-out cabin, and a pioneer merchant plying his wares from a ramshackle wooden shop.
Many of the photochroms were captured in Colorado during the 1880s and 1890s, where a gold rush in the 1850s drew crowds of hopeful prospectors looking to make their fortune.
Gold was first discovered in Colorado by a group of Cherokee on their way to California when they found flecks of the precious metal in a stream bed in the South Platte basin, near present-day Denver.
