DC, Baltimore drivers among the worst in the country

WASHINGTON — Drivers in the D.C. metro area are among the worst in the nation, according to insurance claims tracked by Allstate.

The safest drivers are in Kansas City, Kansas.

Allstate crunched data including average years between collisions and collision likelihood compared to the national average. It found the average driver in the U.S. will experience one collision every 10 years.

In Kansas City, drivers go an average of 14.9 years between collisions and are 32.8 percent less likely to get into a wreck compared to the national average.

  1. Oh! Hell no. Come to North Carolina. They are the worst and most dangerous drivers I have ever come across. They call the roads, "Death Road Drivers."

  3. I wonder if they factored in all the tourists in D.C.? The people coming into work drive like they're absolutely insane! With the one-way streets that change direction
during certain hours & total lack of adequate parking, it's quite hairy on thee roads up there.

7:59--Haven't spent much time there, but I know how they aim, um "drive" when they're here!

  4. Grew up in Baltimore, live on the shore now. Salisbury sure as hell takes the cake for worst drivers I've experienced in 4 states and 5 countries. It's like the Seinfeld joke, they just close their eyes and say look out world I'm pulling out

  5. The sign in the DMV reads "Drive it like you stole it". Well, most cars there are stolen.
