Engine 2 was racing east on Dagsboro Road with the fire hose trailing off the back of the truck, whipping back and forth across the road damaging every single car it passed. The hose finally snapped off the back of the truck but the damage lined up cars all along Dagsboro Road.

As a point of fact, and nothing more...No SFD unit lost any hose or caused any damage while responding to assist Sta 74 with their request for assistance at a reported structure fire, today. The SFD is happy to assist our Brothers and Sisters to the north at any time. However, the unit that lost the hose that caused the damage in question was not from the SFD.

ReplyDeleteNot Salisbury. Salisbury has all white hose.
ReplyDeleteIt was Delmar's I saw it fall off
DeleteI would have been f*n PI$$ED!!
ReplyDeleteWho was driving that thing?? Send them for a pee test.
The Salisbury Fire Department has been nothing but problems under the "leadership" of Rick Hoppes. He has got to go! Please fire that fat slob!!
It was Delmar's hose
Delete4:36 as hard as you seem to be trying you can't blame this on Hoppes
DeleteYou are wrong 5:36 pm everything is blamed on the supervisor or the so called Leader!!
DeleteSays it was delmar not Salisbury so why do you blame Hoppes
DeleteBecause even morons are protected by the 1st amendment.
DeleteThose hose couplings could have killed someone.
ReplyDeleteWhat have you got to say now little munkin Gladwell!!
ReplyDeleteSections of that hose appear red. Are we sure this was a Salisbury engine and not Delmars Engine 74-2? The only red hose in Salisbury 5" and there's only one section per apparatus.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure it wasn't Engine 16-1? Or Truck 2? I hear them on the air, but not Engine 2?
ReplyDeleteThat little cry baby Jimmy Gladwell should pay for it out of his pocket.
ReplyDeleteWow That is messed up! That could have killed someone.
ReplyDeleteDear Lord, I hope those drivers are safe!
ReplyDeleteOH NO......there goes the new bicycle lanes!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is one F***ed Up fire department. Richard Hoppes should be ashamed of himself.
ReplyDeleteThe lettering on the truck said Truck 2 with a boom on top of the fire truck. Engine 2, truck 2, our witness doesn't know the difference, nor do I. Nevertheless, it happened, the pictures do not lie. It was coming from Salisbury north on Rt. 13, made a right turn east onto Dagsboro Road and bumped their rear tires on the curb as they turned.
ReplyDeleteIt came from Delmar I was at the light when hose bout hit my car
Deletethe damage was done, and there was a line of vehicles pulled over on the side of the road when truck 2 came down the road. After speaking with the sheriff's Deputy on scene I believe it was a delmar unit that lost the hose.
ReplyDeleteAccidents happen, just be glad no one seriously injured. Vehicles can be fixed. Another example of people with nothing to do except monday morning QB and complain about people doing a job that they can't do themselves.
ReplyDeleteThe commercial motor vehicle division of the MSP should have been contacted and issued fines. If any other truck had something hanging of the back damaging vehicles they would get hammered by the state Police.
ReplyDeleteFire trucks and engines are not required to be DOT compliant. There are no US DOT numbers posted on the vehicles, they don't stop for scales, and a CDL isn't required to operate them.
DeleteReally? Then why did I have to get a cdl to drive one?
DeleteA class B non-commercial license is required to drive most fire engines/trucks.
DeleteThe nozzle came off the hose under my truck. By the grace of God no one was hurt, only someone's tail light. Things could have been a lot worse. Glad that wasn't my house on fire.
ReplyDeleteOopsie Daisys
ReplyDeleteI don't care what Fire Department it was, someone could have been killed. Thank God it wasn't a group of people riding their motorcycles down the road!
ReplyDeleteAs for the bickering back and forth about who it was, I really don't care. FUNNY how there's so many witnesses and I've rejected about 6 other alleged comments that said the same damn thing. TROLLS
Your correct!!! All I could think was the end was gonna kill someone if it hit them!!!

ReplyDeleteWork hard, sweat, risk your life, raise MILLIONS of dollars only to have it stolen over the past 15+ years from a bunch of alleged racist, ignorant leaders who don't want volunteers there anyway.
So yes, I know about it but until I see the paperwork I'm not putting anything up.
The Lacy fund was set up so the 3 volunteer stations could split the interest each year. It takes a vote from the volunteers to dissolve it. Hoppes can't just come take it.
DeleteAs a person this has happened to before you can't tell till it's to late. So people calling for the drivers head calm down. If you have never driven a fire engine then please be quite. I'm sure the driver and officer feel bad. I'm sure they didn't go out the door intending for that to happen.
ReplyDeleteAs for people bashing chief hoppes and chief gladwell you have absolutely no clue. Both those men are upstanding officers and men.

Trust me, I don't want anything that the fire department "salvages". Why would I? It will have water damage or smell like smoke anyway. I, as would most people, would make out much better with the insurance money. It's TAX FREE!! Therefore, just surround and drown my house. You have my permission to roast marshmallows as well.

ReplyDeleteLOL volunteers sent a letter to hoppes? Talk about a nail in their own coffin. They have no idea how bad it's going to get for them, do they?
ReplyDeleteJust sit back and enjoy the show!
DeleteWho has a copy of the private investigation 1 paid chief has done on station 1?
DeleteTo volunteer means to give of your time and energy without the expectation of compensation! With that said many STILL volunteer because they love the City of Salisbury....may own property, have family living in city limits or friends....BROTHERHOOD is in my opinion wonderful, I'm not a fireman or a police officer.....brotherhood means you have each others back....if you work with folks and you don't take up for one another.....BELIEVE ME NO ONE ELSE WILL!
ReplyDeleteSounds like they need a better way to secure the hose. Just sayin'

You are correct about them being racist. Everyone of the paid firemen that has the title "chief" next to their names is a racist. Ask the black fire officer LC who they forced out of the department. It all falls back on Richard A. Hoppes, Chief of the Department.
Good to hear that no Salisbury Unit lost their hose, but it happens all the time and it happens to often in Salisbury.
ReplyDeleteI do feel bad for Delmar for having to go through this today and maybe this will be a lessen to ALL Fire Companies in Wicomico County to use the Tarps and bungie chords to hold these hose lines in the beds. I believe it is State Law that commercial trucks have to have covers so why doesn't it apply to fire trucks.
Praise the Lord that no one was injured or killed during this misfortune. I always look behind me to make sure I am no losing anything from my vehicles and I am cognizant of who and what is behind me. For a drive to not to this it is negligence.
I'm sure you are special and do not wrong. Sometimes the safety devices break. And sometimes you can not see even with the mirrors what has happened. It was an accident peroid.

I agree, something has to be done about this. The County is paying all three volunteer stations a "grant" to respond to calls and they are not even being dispatched to calls in there own territory. For instance if there is a cardiac arrest across the street from Station #1 at the Ward Museum the volunteers are not even dispatched even if they are in the station for a meeting. The poor non breathing person has to wait for help to come from all the way across town on Cypress Street in the GHETTO!! The County should at least take that funding away from Salisbury.
Actually, the career staff places a 24 hour crew at station 1 if the volunteers don't have in station staffing. Nice try though. I'm sure that non-breathing person is thankful they don't dispatch you guys, maybe you should worry about trying to pass that basic EMT class before complaining about not going on EMS calls. You know what they say, 8th time's a charm. We're all cheering for you!

ReplyDeleteNo one cares enough to even say where the fire was
Too busy hating
What kind of grown man goes by the name "Jimmie?" It's kind of cute when you're 6 years old. Not so much when you are in your 40's. Time to grow up and go by Jim or James. Trust me, you will command more respect. People won't think you're a little kid.
ReplyDelete10:12, GROW UP! I have numerous friends that are in their 50's that have names like Tommy, Jimmy or Jonnie. I'm sure if some of you had the ability in the fire service would go by your snowflake name Caitlyn.
ReplyDeleteI agree. There are quite a few men out there that subjugate their masculinity for a cute nickname. To each his own I suppose.
DeleteYes Joe, but when you are 4' 5" tall and shop for your clothes at Baby Gap, you don't need to add to the illusion that you are a child by going by the name Jimmie. Have an adult presence and you will be taken more seriously.
DeletePerhaps the firefighters should start having some training classes. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteThe county needs to stop dealing with the corruption of the city. The county needs to step in and move the county firefighters out of that city. They deserve better.
ReplyDeleteCounty county fire fighters out of the city. The city is in the county. If you station1 volunteers are so in happy you should go join a county volunteer fire department and see what it really takes to be a real volunteer fire fighter
DeleteWill the fire department pay for the damage to the vehicles?
ReplyDeleteJust out of blue how hard is it to open a new fire house .
ReplyDeleteHold on here.....I thought the Democrats banned fire trucks bc their exhaust created global warming??
ReplyDeleteThe only thing worse the the entire excuse for the Salisbury Fire Department, is the poor excuse for the triple dipping thief Jester.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen anyone else mention this,so I will. Some local fire departments are always begging for donations and I understand that some of them need the money but others need to better manage the funds they have before they ask the public for money.
ReplyDeleteA lot of these shore fire departments have expensive SUV/trucks for the command staff and I have no problem with that except that they drive them all over the place running personal errands like dropping the kids off at school or stopping into Walmart for groceries. One local department I will not name actually has a Cadillac Escalade in their fleet! How can they burn $100 or more a week on gas on personal travel and then look the public in the face to plead poverty and ask for more money? I am grateful for all they do but they need to be like the rest of us and make do with the funds they have!
EXACTLY! Imagine if the public really understood a Salisbury career member, driving a gas hog from Ocean City, while being paid $20,000 + to be a VOLUNTEER Chief and President. Greatest slap in the face to volunteer groups, as well as those that donate funds. Great job Jester.
DeleteThe only one that pisses away more money than Jester is Cropper. Now thier in bed together.

Don't let Bob Culver see this because he is putting more money into the budget for the volunteer fire departments.
Bob Culver is paying for potential votes using our tax dollars. He thinks the Sheriff's Department is going to carry him through the next election by wasting all that money. Now he thinks the volunteers are going to vote for him. Guess what pal, you are not liked by many these days.

Another paid fireman laughing at the volunteers. As if Hoppes is some bad ass. Hopefully Bob Culver will start 3 new volunteer stations and cut the funding to Salisbury and we will see whose nail is in the coffin when Salisbury has all these paid fireman to pay and very few calls to respond on.
You obviously didn't pay attention at your last station 1 meeting...
DeleteSalisbury accounts for almost 3/4 of all calls for service in the county. So the only thing we would lose is the dead weight of you wanna be firefighters whom simply waste space, time, and money. And if you think any jurisdiction in the county is going to give you cry babies territory you're smoking some good stuff.
Why does Jake Day and Bob Culver allow the Salisbury fire trucks with paid firemen to chase ambulance calls all day long? Anyone with a brain will know that this is a major waste of tax dollars.
ReplyDeleteThat's governed by national emergency medical dispatch code. Don't like the EMD learn about what it means and what each code entails and then tell me the extra hands aren't medically necessary. The Jay Jester "chase every delta call" days are over. We now follow the national standard for automatic medical assists. And 8 out of 10 times it was necessary to do all that needs to be done to properly care for the patient. Again, let's ask and learn before we accuse. It's better to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt...

Exactly!! They drive like maniacs to "rescue" someone "if it was your house burning" and this shit happens. They are always putting citizens in harms way. Most fire calls don't need fire trucks responding like bats out of Hell. Look what happens when they do and they are doing no one any good when something like this happens because they didn't make it there safely.
This driver needs to be charged with some sort of neglect. When you get your drivers license to drive a fire truck you are made to do a safety check before you are allowed to drive your drivers test. This is done because that is what drivers are supposed to do. They are supposed to do a safety check each time they drive a rig. If they don't then they are responsible for damages. The "well we are volunteers" part doesn't cut it. If you came around the station more often and checked the apparatus you are expected to drive then these things wouldn't happen.
States and law enforcement levy fines so these things don't happen again. If he gets off without a fine then it is going to happen over and over again.

ReplyDeleteThis was an equipment failure? It would seem more of a failure to secure the equipment in the approved manner.
February 6, 2017 at 8:30 AM
You are absolutely correct on this. Truck drivers are required by law to safely secure their cargo. By not doing this is pure negligence. Most fire companies just lay their hose line in the bed because that is what they have always done it that way. If they are just sitting in the fire house that is absolutely fine, but driving is a different matter.
Would you set your infant child in a car seat on the front bumper to take pictures of them with the fire truck? Yes, it happens all the time. Would you drive down the road with them still on the bumper? Probably not because that is stupid and they would fall off. So why would you lay hoseline on the back of the truck and expect it to stay there!!
You are an idiot. All apparatus is built to safety standard. If an apparatus doesn't have a visible security measure for hose loads there are two possibilities. One, it was made before the standard. Or two it doesn't require a net or strap because it has a wind deflector or deep enough bed it doesn't require one. So if you don't like it, take it up with the AHJ that writes the requirements.
DeleteJust because it was "made before the standard" doesn't excuse your culpability. In fact, it increases it. Obviously, it is known to be a problem, that is why they changed manufacturing rules. As a company and "in the interest of public safety" (which you hide behind when convenient but disregard when it is truly important) why wouldn't you take necessary steps to secure the hose lines? Even if it costs a little money. Are you putting a price tag on safety? You will pay it either way...either pay preventative measures or pay when you damage 20 cars and your insurance goes through the roof. I can't believe you actually got on here and hid behind "it was made before new safety features". That mentality tells us all we need to know. Typical REACTIVE approach instead of being PROACTIVE. You even admits it happens all over the country. Why didn't you learn from others mistakes?

February 5, 2017 at 9:19 AM
WTH is a "peroid?"
First no safety devices were employed.
Second it wasn't an accident. Accidents are something unintentional and can't be prevented. This was pure neglect. Are you the driver of this rig?
No I don't drive fire equipment or any other commercial vehicle. You do not know if safety devices were used or not. And safety devices have been known to fail. This was an accident no one went out trying to cause damage or injury to anyone. I have no idea who was on the equipment, but I do know they did not intentionally do this.
DeleteNo one said they "intentionally" did this. I think everyone agrees it was an accident CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE. If you understand law, you know that "reckless" behavior is defined as being "wanton and willful". In other words "with intent". Negligent behavior is defined as being "careless and imprudent". In other words "without intent but through careless and imprudent actions". Is failure to properly secure a hose line "with intent?" . No. However, is it "careless and imprudent?" Yes. Those are the facts.

February 4, 2017 at 6:13 PM
This is why Rick Hoppes and Jake Day are pressuring the county to fund that extra money with the inflated call volumes. They are trying their best to run the volunteers out of Salisbury? Why is beyond me. First the volunteers live in Salisbury and they vote and they are free. Then every single paid fireman lives outside the Salisbury City limits and many of them live in other counties and other states.
The best thing the volunteers can do is join together and form a petition to recall Jake Day and the rest of the city council members. The next best thing is to find a good candidate for Mayor and help that person get elected. The paid firemen did that to help Jim Liarton get elected.
Every one of the career firemen live outside city limits? Your a fool to say that.
DeleteThe volunteers are not free. They cost the city a few thousand a year, per volunteer. Which yes, is a minimal cost compared to the salary costs. But why don't you speak of the real cost the volunteers are currently posing to this city? Since you won't, I will. The cost is life an property. When you tshirt wearing, rocker tag sporting wanna be firefighters don't show up 60% of the time to respond to calls that leaves a minimum staffed duty engine to handle the emergency by themselves. So in the case of a fire they don't even have enough to meet the 2 in 2 out standard to go and and stop someone from losing everything. God forbid there's an entrapment. Because then everyone is at risk. Because when there isn't any help coming there's not enough people to keep the fire in check AND make the rescue. Or an MVC with rescue. The duty crew is cutting out the pt and there's no hose line protection, or they don't start cutting until a hose line is in service and the pt potentially worsens. Either way it's a lose lose situation. Why do you think they added a fourth station to our structure fire calls? Because our surrounding volunteer fire departments are more reliable than our inner city volunteer fire firefighters. Which station are you from? Station 2? Because if so your response to the E. Church St fire is still being highly anticipated, I mean Delaware companies came and went, but not you. Oh you're from station 1? Well whenever you want to show up to the fire that killed that little girl would be greatly appreciated, but no worries, fruitland picked up your slack and beat you there. So keep sleeping good at night thinking you are serving your community and saving them money. But don't come out of your cave beating on your chest and then play victim from the big bad fire chief and mayor when they have finally had enough of your childish games. Because the monetary savings you do provide to the tax payers will never outweigh the catastrophic loss someone will feel when your lack of dedication finally kills someone. If you want to play Russian roulette do it with your own life. But don't play it with the citizens lives just for a tshirt and a place to "hangout". So please go back to the boom boom room and put your face back in the pillow, you're no longer needed...

You are correct and there are so many variables involved in this.
LDS - we all know what that means.
The Look at Me theory.
Hard on - many fire buffs have been caught masturbating to fires.
Yes there are some serious mental issues with firemen, especially paid firemen from Salisbury.

I see you listed 6 fire companies that "you have to do wiff" so what does that make you. All those fire companies and you have the cleanest fire gear. Tells me alot about you little boy. ReplyDeleteThe volunteers are not free.
February 7, 2017 at 11:33 AM
See Joe paid firemen constantly bashing the volunteers in order to keep them away. It's called job security and when there are no volunteers then paid firemen might be needed.
By the way this was an "All Call" dispatch so why didn't the great paid firemen save that 'little girl' you are talking about.
How often is there a real house fire in Salisbury? Very rarely!
How often is there a real MVC with rescue in Salisbury? Very rarely!
So you see it is not really worth paying all these paid firemen to have a cushy job in Salisbury where they get to sleep all the time and get paid for it.
Recruit and Retain volunteers. If they can do it in Kentland, PG County in can be done in this town.
So please go back to the boom boom room and put your face back in the pillow, you're no longer needed...
This is EXACTLY what the citizens need to understand. The paid fire fighters want to push the volunteers out because they are a threat to their own job security. Once there are no more volunteers, the paid fire fighters become more valuable and their leverage increases. That's when the union steps in and demands higher wages, better benefits, more manpower, newer equipment and more perks. The only way to find that is with higher taxes. They just have to eliminate that pesky competition..,volunteers. Think of it this way, if you own a produce stand and are charging for vegetables, how happy are you going to be if the produce stand next door is giving away vegetables for free. Same thing. Volunteers are doing their job FOR FREE.
DeleteThe paid and volunteers need each other. Neither can do it on their own.
DeleteVolunteers are far from "free". The city pays for all of their gear, fuel, station supplies, vehicle maintenance, utility bills, pretty much anything you can think of. The only thing they do for free is not show up to calls.
DeleteAlthough they are "far from free" they are a heck of a lot cheaper than full time paid employees. For any organization, employee costs (salaries and benefits) are close to 90% of the budget.
DeleteAnonymous said...
ReplyDeleteYou are an idiot. All apparatus is built to safety standard. If an apparatus doesn't have a visible security measure for hose loads there are two possibilities. Salisbury accounts for almost 3/4 of all calls for service in the county. So the only thing we would lose is the dead weight of you wanna be firefighters whom simply waste space, time, and money. And if you think any jurisdiction in the county is going to give you cry babies territory you're smoking some good stuff.
February 7, 2017 at 11:44 AM
All they need is the territory in the County that surrounds the city limits. The city doesn't own that territory and neither does any volunteer fire company in the county. Quit talking out of your ass.

Get to the facts not what if's. Property damage without a doubt but those on here with a smoking gun is all nonsense.
ReplyDelete11:33 The majority of PA, with the exception of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh city limits, is protected by volunteer fire departments including interstate highways, major malls, Villanova Univ., high rise office and apartment buildings. In areas where volunteers are given respect and valued, they do show up.
ReplyDelete2:12 You seem to be really invested in this issue. Are an attorney or in the insurance business. Just from memory of reading about this over the past day or so, the fire dept. vehicle may have made contact with a curb or median divider. Yes median and not medium. Such contact as a sufficient speed or angle could produce enough force to displace a properly racked hose line. While I am not familiar with this department's equipment, many cross lay hoses typically have the nozzle connected to the line and many have a holder designed for the nozzle to be held on the side of the truck to aid in rapid deployment. Is it possible for the nozzle to be dislodged from the holder if the vehicle experiences a a large pothole or fixed object? Yes. This was an accident. They happen. There was no intent to harm or negligence involved. Look at the fire logs over the period of a year to get an idea of how many runs a fire truck goes on not including just riding around to get lunch/dinner. How many times has an accident such as this happened?
ReplyDeleteFYI, I am not connected with any fire dept. or local government and am baffled by the amount of negativity associated with the fire depts. in Wicomico county. Is it born here v. come here or just good old family feuds over who get to control the fund raisers and slush funds?
The problem with your explanation is simple, if you KNOW that striking a curb or hitting a pothole can dislodge a hose and imperil the public, why didn't the company take measures to prevent it from coming dislodged under those circumstances? There are tie downs, nets and other methods available. If the fire department is so worried about "public safety" there is no logical reason they don't utilize such safety measures. It's really quite simple.
DeleteBalls or votes Bob?
ReplyDeleteMan up and clean house. We are trusting these children with our lives.
6:47 I never used the word can. I said could as in it is within the realm of possibility however not a certainty. Given the number of times that these vehicles are on the road either on a call or just being driven, this accident statistically is rare as compared to the chances of being involved in an automobile accident in general not involving an emergency vehicle. It seems that you are one of the "we need a warning label or safety measure for every potential action that could cause an injury to property of life". You don't put a baby in a 5 gallon bucket of water headfirst, you don'y pickup a firearm without clearing the chamber to ensure it is not loaded, you put a toaster in the bathtub while making toast or otherwise. Maybe we should remove the word accident from the dictionary since you believe that there is no such thing. There was no personal injury. A few vehicles sustained damage and will be repaired. Get over it.
ReplyDeleteAnd...again...what is the problem with securing the hose better? Yes, no one was hurt THIS time. FYI...CAN and COULD mean the same thing. I'll use your word though, if you know it COILD happen, why not take measures to prevent it? The fire department is saying they are there to protect and preserve property. It is ridiculous to think they don't take better measures to secure the hose line. On scene, it may take 10 extra seconds to get the hose line out. Not a big deal. I don't believe we need warnings on everything. I DO believe emergency responders are held to a higher standard to protect life and property. It's just not good enough to hide behind being a "volunteer" or a "first responder" and saying that should make a difference. It doesn't. You know you shouldn't drive down the road with one lug nut on a wheel because the wheel COULD come off. You should also know you shouldn't run up and down the road in a fire engine with hose that COULD fly off the back of the engine. It really is common sense.
DeleteWhat an ignorant fireman. Your first sentence shows how stupid you are. Can and could mean the exact same thing yet you use that as an argument. You are an idiot.
DeleteClean house Bob. Votes are not worth this risk or this childishness.
ReplyDeleteEvery citizen of this county should condemn this type of behavior from our first responders.
Address it decisively Bob and Jake. Lead
And I don't mean the hose.
DeleteThis discourse evidences the weakness and lack of respect of your team.
Show Wicomico that it is worth an excellent effort and an expectation of excellence.
LEAD FROM THE FRONT
9:06 That is totally false. Volunteers cover the state of PA. Major metro areas like King of Prussia. Don't try to use emotions in the place of facts, it never works. Take a few minutes and learn something using this great thing called the internet. Google can lead you to the web sites of numerous volunteer fire departments in PA protecting areas with real wealth and historic value exponentially greater than Salisbury, MD.
ReplyDeleteDid your feelings get hurt by a fireman or you not get to ride on a truck and use the siren?
The volunteers in the city have been ran out. Pagers don't go off anymore, duty crews take their calls so how can they respond? Wouldn't the citizens of Salisbury like to know that if you live in station 1 or station 2 fire district, and you need the fire department that a duty engine will be coming from 16 ninety five percent of the time because volunteers are not allowed to respond to calls anymore and unless they staff 24/7 they don't get alerted. Bet your home owners insurance would love to know that! Any new member coming in will be assigned to a "shift" and required to ride with a duty shift that they are assigned too. I'm sorry, but that is not volunteering when you tell them when to be there and who to be with......

You are 100% accurate with that statement. Paid firemen just trying to scare the tax payers into thinking that it's to expensive to have volunteers. Well guess what, it's not. Just because a set of new Bunker gear cost nearly $1,000, no big deal because it can be given to another volunteer if the first one left. When you sell out your own credibility, integrity and belief system just to get ahead, you are worthless. Word on the street is, he grew that moustache because Hoppes requested to be tickled while he is being serviced.

ReplyDeleteHe just thought that no one would ever find out what kind of person he is. Thanks to Joe, people have a place to get their feelings out and be heard. Of course he's mad. HE IS BEING EXPOSED FOR THE FRAUD THAT HE IS.

There would be more posted on him but he calls the owner of this blog and cries to him that it isn't true. Funny he talks about Joe behind his back, but when they talk he pretends they are best friends.
He actually calls Joe?

ReplyDeleteTo: "FYI, I am not connected with any fire dept. or local government and am baffled by the amount of negativity associated with the fire depts. in Wicomico county. Is it born here v. come here or just good old family feuds over who get to control the fund raisers and slush funds?"
Salisbury's leaders tend to hire under qualified candidates to run departments. They change hiring specifications to hire weaker candidates, not because they don't have qualified candidates, but because they want "yes" people. This was the case in the city with Hoppes, Stephenson (City Administrator), Oland (finance), and many more. Under qualified people know they have no business in the position and are easily manipulated to suit the whims of politically motivated and corrupt administrations. Salisbury needs to do a much better job of electing good candidates. That's were the hiring/firing power is.
I'm curious, did anyone see this in ANY other media source?
ReplyDeleteYou're right Joe. This is the ONLY place the truth comes out. The other "media" doesn't want to upset their local friends by reporting the truth.
DeleteThe fire departments are just one big click.
ReplyDeleteJoe I see in a few comments that it says the volunteers of the city should go County. Do you support that.
ReplyDeleteThe correct word is clique unless the fire truck crosses the medium on the highway due to traffic.
ReplyDeleteI bet mini mouse Gladwell is mad as anything. He didn't want the truth about him to get out.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really big deal for you people. All of you need to take up a hobby or something.

ReplyDeleteUPDATE: Jimmie Gladwell

As a point of fact, and nothing more...No SFD unit lost any hose or caused any damage while responding to assist Sta 74 with their request for assistance at a reported structure fire, today. The SFD is happy to assist our Brothers and Sisters to the north at any time. However, the unit that lost the hose that caused the damage in question was not from the SFD.
News outlets posting and implying otherwise do not have accurate information. I hope no one suffered any injury during the unfortunate incident. The IC of the incident is handling the issue.

So why is Jimmy Gladwell posting on his social media page when the SFD Guidelines and SOP's clearly prohibit this?
Never mind, those SOP's are only in place to use against the people within the SFD that you want to harm when no other reason exists.
