In the past few days, mayors from sanctuary cities around the country have made similar gestures. Baltimore doesn't hold sanctuary-city status, because the city doesn't control Central Booking or Immigration and Customs Enforcement deportation procedures.
The mayor made it clear Thursday what it means to be a welcoming city. Joined by immigrants from a number of Baltimore neighborhoods, the mayor said they and refugees make the city stronger and more diverse.
Rawlings-Blake said that in wake of the national election, she wanted to assure residents that Baltimore is inclusive and tolerant.

Fk Deporting them! They are criminals. Let them do time and put them to work on Chain Gangs.
The mayors of these so called safe cities will be breaking federal law, so they will be subject to fines and imprisonment also with the city council. I think when Trump starts to enforce these laws, these cowards will change their tunes!

Its againt the law and its unconstitutional. These mayors must be held accountable! By the voters or crimminal charges either way They are not upholding thier solemn oaths. I understand their plight. The situation is complicated, but it's wrong on all levels to Foster support and allow this practice to continue. it is an Extreme tax burden on our schools, our society, our Social Security programs our welfare system medical & legal sysyems, the list goes on and on. How much does it really cost us? Rightful Citizens safety, lives, money and jobs are at risk. If They have been here, and they have children here, and have been paying taxes. I have no problem with allowing them to stay, but with a penalty and a process to citizen ship. Dodgers and the types that wish to take advantage of our system hide, steal from my kids mouth education &safety and the Criminals must go! the borders must be sealed! and we must start to a process and correct this problem!Thats Trumps job.
